Title: Helen Keller: Did She Pity Herself?
Topic: Motivational and Inspirational
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Helen Keller was born on June 27, 1880. At the age of 2, she suffered an illness which left her blind and deaf. But Helen did not let this define her life or defeat her.

Bill Federer, our favorite historian, wishes Helen Keller a “Happy Birthday”!

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What did Helen Keller say about “self-pity”?

Did Helen Keller support many different causes?

What are four things we can learn from Helen Keller?

How was Helen Keller introduced to Jesus? This is an amazing story!

Helen Keller once said: "Try to imagine how you would feel if you were suddenly stricken blind today.
Picture yourself stumbling and groping at noonday as in the night; your work, your independence, gone. In that dark world, wouldn't you be glad if a friend took you by the hand and said, 'Come with me and I will teach you how to do some of the things you used to do when you could see.’”

So how do they go into Congress poor and come out rich?

Has Democrat Party mega-donor George Soros donated millions upon millions to elect his preferred candidate? SHORT ANSWER: Yes.

Topic: Corruption in Government
Discussed by Bill Federer

Questions/Issues Discussed:

In America today, are political parties agitating each other? Do they often falsely accuse each other of corruption when they themselves are guilty? Do they often get rich accepting money from lobby groups in exchange for a favorable vote? Bill has a lot to say about these questions. Listen in close as discusses Biden’s connection to Russia and China, the rapid increase in oil and gas, the left-leaning media, and Hillary Clinton.

Did Sigmund Freud call this “psychological projection” (blame shifting)? Did George Orwell call it “double speak”? Bill Federer says that people need to start calling out those who are doing this. Amen!

Do many Americans miss President Trump’s “mean tweets”? Bill Federer shares some shocking election results from the 2020 Presidential Election…

Can we turn America around? Does it start on the local level? Do parents need to get more involved? Do people need to push back?

Greek philosopher Plato explained that human nature was such that if a person could escape accountability, they would act unjustly, with selfish immorality.  Is this the type of behavior the Democrats are portraying when they allow witnesses to leave out “So help me, God” from their oath?

Does the oath date back to the Bible?

What is the historical significance of the oath to tell the truth?

Why did the Founders include this oath?

Do graduates from the military end their oath with “So help me, God”? When did this practice stop?

Does the House of Representatives in WDC still require witnesses to swear under oath to tell the truth? Are many scared to?

Do some judges refuse to allow witnesses to testify who will not “swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me, God”?

To paraphrase Plato, is it human nature to lie?

Title: Part 3 of 3 - Islam’s Long War on the West
Topic: Islam: Understand the Truth About Islam
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Questions/Issues Discussed:

In 1990, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) passed the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam. Bill Federer reveals details of this declaration… Listen close! These laws are crazy!!!

As Secretary of State, did Hillary Clinton meet with the OIC in 2011 in support of criminalizing speech insulting Islam?

Are God and Allah the same?
Some comments/facts from Bill on this:
Allah has no children vs Everyone is God’s child.
Allah has no image vs We are made in the image of God.
Mohamad says to wage war against all who do not turn to Islam vs Jesus said to just leave (no war).
Islam has an unforgiveable sin: believing in Jesus Christ vs Christianity, which says all sins are forgivable – no matter what.

Bottom line: The descriptions don’t match up.

Part 1 of 2

In 1857, the Supreme Court, with 7 of the 9 Justices being Democrat, decided that Dred Scott was not a citizen, but property. Bill Federer has more details about this and other injustices throughout history, perpetrated by Democrats. You can learn more here  from Bill Federer and the American Minute.

What are more details about the Dred Scott case? Did Chief Justice Roger Taney really call Dred Scott “inferior”?

Did Democrats pass Jim Crow laws?

Helen Keller once said: "Try to imagine how you would feel if you were suddenly stricken blind today.
Picture yourself stumbling and groping at noonday as in the night; your work, your independence, gone. In that dark world, wouldn't you be glad if a friend took you by the hand and said, 'Come with me and I will teach you how to do some of the things you used to do when you could see.’”

Title: What Does Memorial Day Mean to You?
Topic: Memorial Day
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Picture this scene: Southern women with their arms full of flowers scatter the petals across the graves of fallen soldiers from both the North and South. The time: end of the Civil War. This was how Memorial Day began. Friendship offered from the South to North, and from the North to the South.

It began as a way to begin the healing process after a bloody war many years ago. Now, Memorial Day is a day we set aside to remember, not “celebrate”, those who have given their lives to defend the freedom and liberty of the United States of America.

Topic: Slavery
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 4

Disclaimer: Use caution when listening to this segment around young children. Issues discussed might be upsetting or hard for little ones to understand.

Various forms of slavery have existed throughout history – and even in modern society today. Bill Federer offers a look at slavery through the ages in today’s program.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

At any time in history, has there ever been an abolitionist movement within the Islamic world to end slavery? Listen as Bill reveals how many Africans were sold to Arab Muslims.

FACT CHECK: Child slavery still exists today in West and Central Africa. How many children are sold each year to become slaves on farms, in homes, and used as sex slaves?

India has an extremely high rate of child slavery. Actually they call it “generational indebtedness”. Listen as Bill Federer explains what this means and how generations of families, including children, are forced to be slaves for a relative’s debt.

Title: Should Christians Buy Girl Scout Cookies?
Topic: Girl Scouts of America
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Disclaimer: Use caution when listening to this segment around young children. Issues discussed might be upsetting or hard for little ones to understand.

How much do you know about the history of the American Girl Scouts? Has the organization morphed into something that emulates liberal ideology?

These questions, among others, will be answered today by our go-to historian, Bill Federer, the President/Founder of American Minute.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Who founded the American Girl Scouts and why?

The original Girl Scout Moto was: "On my honor, I will try: to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people at all times, and to obey the Girl Scout laws."

Is this still the American Girl Scouts moto?

Is the modern leadership of the American Girl Scouts more secular/liberal in their beliefs, especially when it comes to sex outside of marriage, abortion, and homosexuality?

Are most moms unaware of the liberal indoctrination their daughters receive through the American Girl Scouts?

Is there another alternative to the American Girl Scouts? HINT: YES! Google “American Heritage Girls”.

Bottom line: Should Christians buy Girl Scout Cookies?

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Tent was a wonder. It still is! Elephants, clowns, dancers, and monkeys have thrilled and dazzled crowds across the globe for over a century.

But did you know that the Big Tent was also used by Dwight L. Moody for evangelistic campaigns and revivals? Thousands came to hear the man preach in New York City. I wonder if they would do the same today…

Do unborn animals have more rights than unborn humans?

Are there references to the importance of life in the Bible? Listen as Bill rattles off verse after verse…

Did Norma McCorvey, who was Jane Roe in the Roe v. Wade lawsuit, have a change of heart concerning the abortion issue?

What is “racial hygiene”?

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Santa Anna wanted to crush his opponents, but that didn’t turn out so well for him when all the other countries broke apart and left him all alone! What happened? Hint: This is when the Battle of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto occurred.

Some people are under the mistaken impression that Texas and America “stole” the land from Mexico. Is this correct or was there a treaty involved?

What other states, in addition to Texas, were involved in the treaty? Is this known as the Mexican Secession?

Because Mexico never officially colonized many regions, the French moved in and made their own settlements. What happened next?

Title: Who Really Forced the Indians from their Homes?
Topic: History
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 2

Gold was discovered in Georgia in 1828, resulting in a Democrat-controlled Congress rushing through the Indian Removal Act, which passed by a single vote in 1830. It was signed by Democrat President Andrew Jackson and carried out by Democrat President Martin Van Buren.

Bill Federer, our resident historian with the American Minute, recounts the facts from this controversial time in our nation’s history.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Were there any Republicans at this time in history?

What state was attempting to seize land from the Indians?

Did the Indians appeal to the Supreme Court over this matter? FACT: Many of these Indians were educated professionals such as doctors, lawyers, and teachers. Listen as Bill Federer gives more details.

What did the Treaty of New Echota in 1835 accomplish?

What is the "Trail of Tears”?

Who opposed the forced removal of the Indians by the Indian Removal Act? BONUS: One person opposed to this was Davy Crockett!

Did missionaries oppose the forced removal of the Indians?

Title: The Boys and Girl Scouts Will Soon Be One
Topic: Boy Scouts of America
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Calvin Coolidge once said this: "The Boy Scout movement can never be ... a substitute but ... an ally of strict parental control and family life under religious influences.”

Sir Baden-Powell founded the Boy Scout organization in 1908 to promote morality and good citizenship in the rising generation. In fact, this was written about the Boy Scouts in 1908: "We aim for the practice of Christianity in their everyday life and dealings, and not merely the profession of its theology on Sundays.

Bill Federer has some more information about the origin of the Boy Scouts and the downward spiral their headed down.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.” Which Founding Father offered this statement?

Does the MSM show a moral concern for others? Was this lack of concern beginning to show its evil head even in the early 1900’s?

Why did Sir Baden-Powell start the Boy Scouts of America?

What were some of the original requirements of the Boy Scouts? Do they still follow these guidelines?

Now that the Boy Scouts are worth so much money, is the LGBTQ crowd targeting the organization?

Is there a good, true Christian alternative which parents can choose for their sons? Click here http://www.traillifeusa.com for more!

Where did they get the idea?

How did this experiment with communism work for the Pilgrims?

What else did William Bradford say about this failed plan?

How did the leadership decide on individualism?

Bill Federer is the founder of the American Minute. You can hear the American Minute each weekday during the What’s UP Radio Program. His free email alerts  make great material to discuss with your kids each night during supper.

Today, Bill offers a rational, non-judgmental, extremely tolerant, and very fair explanation of the History of the Confederate Flag, the Democrat Donkey, and the Islamic Crescent.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

If people demand the abolishment of The Confederate Flag, why not the Democrat Donkey and the Islamic Crescent? If you ban one, you must ban all three. Bill Federer explains the history of freeing the slaves and why being consistent is so important.

The Islamic Crescent is the symbol on the Islamic flag. Was Mohamad a polygamist, pedophile, and savage Jihadist, not to mention a slave owner?

Bill Federer also gives a brief history of how the Republican Party actually began and what they stood for and against. Their ideas were extremely radical and many didn’t like them.

What did the Democrats in the North want? What happened when some states offered slaves freedom but others did not? This was a serious issue during this time and Bill Federer discusses the case that changed it all. Listen in!

Did you know: The writer of “God Bless America” also wrote: “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas”, “Alexander’s Ragtime Band”, and “There’s no Business Like Show Business”, among many others.

The son of a Rabbi, Irving Berlin was born on May 11, 1888. When he was four, his family emigrated from Russia to New York. Irving served as a US infantry sergeant in WWI. In addition to writing “God Bless America” and the above-mentioned songs, he also wrote the famous Broadway musical “This is the Army”, which starred Ronald Reagan in the 1943 film version. People far and wide loved the musical so much that President Truman actually gave Irving the Army’s Medal of Merit in 1945! (Irving was given several other awards, as well. Listen in fore more.)

Title: I will fight to the very end. Will You?
Topic: Salvation Army
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 4

William Booth, Founder of the Salvation Army, once wrote:

"While women weep, as they do now, I'll fight.
While little children go hungry, I'll fight.
While men go to prison, in and out, in and out, as they do now, I'll fight.
While there is a drunkard left,
While there is a poor lost girl upon the streets,
Where there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I'll fight!
I'll fight to the very end!
"

Millions of people in over 118 countries are being helped today because of one man and his wife. Bill Federer is our resident historical expert and today discusses the positive impact William Booth and his wife, Catherine, have had on the world and the kingdom.

When he was only thirteen years old, William Booth was an apprentice to a pawn broker in England. That is where he first became aware of the tragic need many people had for basic essentials. After he became a Christian, he studied many preachers and sermons centering on helping the needy. When he and Catherine married years later, they founded “The Christian Mission”.

While the Booths were ministering to the needy in England through their mission, they realized that one of the biggest crimes being committed was sex trafficking and teenage prostitution. “They made it their goal to end this terrible practice,” Bill comments. In fact, they even arranged to “buy” one of the young girls in order to give her a better life. However, their plan backfired and trouble arose. Listen in as Bill shares the rest of the story!

Catherine Booth once said: "I felt as though I must go and walk the streets and besiege the dens where these hellish iniquities are going on. To keep quiet seemed like being a traitor to humanity."

Title: What is your impact for the kingdom?
Topic: Salvation Army
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 2 of 4

Currently, the Salvation Army has 81 mission stations worldwide with 127 full-time Evangelists and over 1,900 volunteers. The Salvation Army holds a whopping 75,000 meetings per year!!

In 1884, the Booths established the first rescue home for girls who were stuck in the sex-trafficking trade. Over the next thirty years, the number of homes grew from 1 in only one city to 117 homes worldwide. In 1885, the Booths, along with feminist and social reformer Josephine Butler, were able to pass England’s Criminal Law Act of 1885, which raised the age of consent for sex. However, much was still needed to be reformed as many of the laws only protected the very young and extremely wealthy.

SHOCK FACT: Bill Federer makes a shocking statement about UN Peacekeepers and sex trafficking. Seriously, you will be sick to your stomach when you hear what he has to say!

On a happier note, Bill reveals how we have William and Catherine Booth to thank for the matches of today. Yes, matches! It is an interesting, yet heartbreaking story. Listen in!

William Booth received an honorary degree from Oxford University and had the privilege to meet with the King of England, Winston Churchill, and Teddy Roosevelt, whom he sent a powerful telegram in 1903:

"I am more than impressed with the greatness of the Nation at whose head you have been placed by the Providence of God. I pray that He may spare you all the wisdom needed... [editor’s note: I now pray to the maker of the universe for some of His spare wisdom and Spirit!]    ....These kindly feelings which you are known to entertain towards those who grow in misery and helplessness even in this greatly favored country...May the blessing of Him that maketh rich and addeth no sorrow be on the White House and the Nation it represents."

Title: Purpose to have an impact for the kingdom.

Part 3 of 4

In this third segment with Bill Federer, he concludes his discussion about William and Catherine Booth and their amazing contributions to improving the world. (In the fourth segment, Bill discusses Apollo 13, prayer, unity, and God. Listen in!)

One memorable quote from William Booth is: "The chief danger of the 20th century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and Heaven without Hell." We are seeing this played out in public squares all across the world, especially here in America concerning the homosexual movement. Listen in as Bill speaks passionately on this issue, offers more fantastic quotes by William Booth, and gives more encouragement from various Presidents and other important figures who spoke highly of William and his wife Catherine.

Booker T. Washington, the Founder of Tuskegee Institute, loved the Salvation Army. On July 28, 1896, Washington wrote: "I have always had the greatest respect for the work of The Salvation Army especially because I have noted that it draws no color line in religion...In reaching the neglected and, I might say, outcasts of our people, I feel that your methods and work have peculiar value...God bless you in all your unselfish Christian work for our country." If that isn’t an endorsement of highest praise, I don’t know what is!

It’s about time we have another William Booth in the world again. Will it be you?

Title: Houston, we have a problem. April 11, 1970.
Topic: America Today
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 4 of 4

“There are so many things that we take for granted that go back to people that are Christians motivated to do something,” Bill declared in the last segment. Churches were once the foundation for assisting the needy in every community across the globe, specifically in America. It was the church that fed and clothed the poor. It was the church who cared for the sick and dying, creating hospitals. It was the church that took in orphans and found them loving families. It was the church who started the prison system as a way to help the criminal find repentance. It was the church that started colleges and universities.

Prayer. What has happened to prayer? Prayer is a powerful motivator and an even more persuasive unifier. On April 11, 1970, Apollo 13 made that fateful call: “Houston, we have a problem.” When the oxygen tank exploded, millions of people around the world from all different religions and cultures gathered to pray.

Bill states: “Thousands prayed in New York City's Times Square, at Chicago's Board of Trade, at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, and in St. Peter's Square where the Pope led 50,000 people in prayer for the astronaut’s safe return. Even President Richard Nixon asked the nation observe a Day of Prayer.” The list of people and groups who banded together goes on and on, regardless of race or social status.

This same unity needs to be evident in America once again. People must wake up to the turmoil that is erupting in every community throughout our great nation. “It’s in crisis that people turn to Christ,” Bill believes. “God love us and wants us to love Him back, but it has to be voluntary.” We cannot continue to kill babies and allow perverted minorities to infiltrate our schools and churches and then expect God to swoop down from Heaven and save us.

Bill asks this question: “If you were God, what would you do?

Title: Remember the Alamo!
Topic: History
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 2

On March 2, 1836, Texas declared its independence from Mexico. Bill Federer, our favorite American Historian, is here today to give us a little background on Mexico, Spain, Texas, the Alamo, The Battle of San Jacinto, Santa Anna, and more!

First, Bill discusses how Mexico won its independence from Spain. After Cortez conquered Mexico in 1521, it became the “New Spain” for nearly 300 years. Then in 1808, Napoleon conquered Spain and put his brother on the Spanish throne. This did not sit well for the Mexicans in New Spain.

Over the next few years, things were rocky, at best. From 1821 until 1857, 50 different governments ruled over Mexico. Every time someone new said to the poor “I will take care of you” they became the ruler…or dictator. Listen in as Bill Federer explains more of the story and how Santa Anna finally took control.

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Remember the Alamo!
Topic: History
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Almost immediately after his election, Santa Anna demanded higher taxes. This was definitely not what the people of Mexico had bargained for. Then, he dissolved the Congress and rejected the new Constitution; he became a dictator and “requested” the people surrender their arms. Sound familiar?

This is when Texas got tough and told Santa Anna “no way”. This, obviously, did not sit well with him and he started getting very violent in order to get what he wanted. Thus, Texas declared its independence from Mexico.

BONUS FACT: Santa Anna dressed as a woman to try to escape the Battle of San Jacinto! There was even cross-dressing back then!!

So, where and when did the Goliad Massacre occur and how was it different than the Battle of Goliad? What was the purpose of the Blood Red Flag? Bill explains, so listen in!

Furthermore, Bill Federer points out that if Santa Anna had just simply captured the American soldiers, the Battle of the Alamo probably would not have occurred. However, since he was so merciless and killed everyone, people were outraged and came Texas’s aid. And thank goodness they did! From 1836-1845, Texas was an independent country. Maybe we should have stayed that way – or maybe we will again!

Topic: America Today
Discussed by Bill Federer

Part 1 of 3

Even prior to the Civil War, America was divided into five political categories: Radical Northern Republicans, Moderate Republicans, Practical Neutral Voters, Moderate Southern Democrats, and Extreme Southern Democrats. Today, we have the Pro-Life Republicans, Establishment Republicans, Practical Neutral Voters, Pro-Choice Democrats, and Extreme Democrats.

Bill Federer is a historian and founder of American Minute. He explains the difference between the pre-Civil War voters and the modern day voters. He also discusses the current debate over Congress and the Supreme Court’s urge to overstep their boundaries. The Founders laid out specific guidelines for such issues, but during the Civil War this issue was pretty tense. (Sound familiar?)

There has always been division among the people in America concerning social and moral issues. Bill Federer discusses Robert E. Lee’s misplaced Special Order 191 from 1862. At this time, the South was winning the Civil War, so General Lee decided to split his army, which was a strange tactic. His Special Order 191 was lost by the curriers and found by the Northern Army. Therefore, the South lost many, many men and ultimately lost the war.

Listen in as Bill also discusses Abraham Lincoln’s famous Emancipation Proclamation. Honest Abe was hesitant to issue the proclamation. But, why? Congress was pretty upset by this. Tune in to the next segment as Bill explains their dilemma.

Topic: America Today

Bill Federer has been discussing the Civil War and the real facts about the north and the south, Lincoln, the Emancipation Proclamation, and Congress’s dilemma. For example, many people do not know that some of the northern states had slaves which were not freed after Abe’s proclamation! They were still part of the union and therefore were not forced to abide by the President’s law. In fact, the proclamation didn’t even have the authority to free the slaves in the South! That’s where Congress stepped in. Listen in as Bill explains.

It is sad that so many black people today believe that the Democrats are to be thanked for freeing the slaves and giving them rights. The Republicans passed the 13th Amendment, the 14th Amendment, and the 15th Amendment – all giving rights to black people. Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican, had the first black person in the White House for dinner (Booker T. Washington). Democrat President Woodrow Wilson segregated the military and Republican President Eisenhower integrated it! Democrat Senator Bird and other Democrats filibustered for 71 days to stop the Republicans Civil Rights Bill in 1965. And that, my friends, is when the Democrat Party began giving blacks free stuff.

Title: Fact and Fiction: Separation of Church and State
Topic: Separation of Church and State
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 2

The Constitution was not designed to punish religious people, but we seem to hear stories every day of how a person was discriminated against because of their religion – mainly Christians. Our favorite historian, Bill Federer, is with us today and starts off this first segment by quoting Supreme Court Justice William Douglas:

The First Amendment, however, does not say that in every and all respects there shall be a separation of Church and State...Otherwise the state and religion would be aliens to each other - hostile, suspicious, and even unfriendly...Municipalities would not be permitted to render police or fire protection to religious groups. Policemen who helped parishioners into their places of worship would violate the Constitution. Prayers in our legislative halls; the appeals to the Almighty in the messages of the Chief Executive; the proclamations making Thanksgiving Day a holiday; 'so help me God' in our courtroom oaths – these and all other references to the Almighty that run through our laws, our public rituals, our ceremonies would be flouting the First Amendment.

Justice Douglas went on the say:

"We are a religious people whose institutions presuppose a Supreme Being... When the state encourages religious instruction...it follows the best of our traditions. For it then respects the religious nature of our people and accommodates the public service to their spiritual needs…We find no constitutional requirement which makes it necessary for government to be hostile to religion and to throw its weight against efforts to widen the effective scope of religious influence...We cannot read into the Bill of Rights such a philosophy of hostility to religion.

So what’s the deal with all the persecution against Christians lately? Why do so many people, after all these years, still so grossly misinterpret the meaning behind the First Amendment? Justice Douglas referenced all the way back to the Founding Fathers, including a case by Warren Berger. Listen as Bill Federer explains what Chief Justice Warren Burger did and why it is proof that the First Amendment has been grossly misconstrued over the past decades and twisted into something the Founding Fathers never intended.

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Fact and Fiction: Separation of Church and State
Topic: Separation of Church and State
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

In the beginning, every New American Colony practiced a different Christian denomination: Virginia was Anglican, Massachusetts was Puritan, Rhode Island was Baptist, New York was Dutch Reformed, and Delaware and New Jersey were Swedish Lutheran. Each group would become very angry if someone from a different denomination tried to move into their colony. Then the Revolutionary War started and they have to work together against the King of England.

Listen in as Bill Federer shares some interesting facts about those early colonies and how each gradually became more and more tolerant of other denominations and religions. Bill also points out that after the Civil War and the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments, things at the Supreme Court became hairy. There were some Justices who stuck to the exact meaning of the Constitution and others who saw nothing wrong with changing it into something it was never meant to be. This is still a major issue today.

Justice Burger also said this concerning the misconstrued concept of the separation of church and state:

"The concept of a 'wall' of separation between church and state...is not an accurate description of the practical aspects of the relationship that in fact exists. The Constitution does not require complete separation of church and state; it affirmatively mandates accommodation, not merely tolerance, of all religions, and forbids hostility toward any. Anything less would require the 'callous indifference', that was never intended by the Establishment Clause...Indeed, we have observed, such hostility would bring us into 'war with our national tradition as embodied in the First Amendment's guaranty of the free exercise of religion..."

Today, the government is trying to come into our churches to tell us what we can and cannot do. They’ve already succeeded in the businesses sector. They’ve taken God out of the public schools. They’ve indoctrinated our children with their liberal ideas through television, movies, and music. We cannot – we must not – allow them to invade our churches. The day that happens, we have lost the war.

Topic: America Today

Listen in to the next segment with Bill Federer as he explains General Lee’s Special Order 191 and its connection with the outcome of the Civil War.

Title: Can a True Muslim Follow The Constitution?
Topic: The Qur’an vs. The Constitution
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 3

In 2007, Keith Ellison (D-MN) was the first Muslim elected to Congress. When he swore his oath to protect the US Constitution, he used the Holy Qur’an. The problem with Ellison using the Qur’an, according to Bill Federer, is this: “Faithful Muslims consider them (the laws in the Qur’an) superior to all man-made laws…They want to do what they can to have them instituted in the countries where they live.” Bill goes on to explain how Islam allows followers to lie to non-believers in order to spread their religion.

Fast-forward to 2015…Ben Carson is being ostracized by the media for a saying: “I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation.” Dr. Carson knows What’s UP. And so does Bill Federer. He reveals this: The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise of religion, yet the Qur’an states in Sura 4:89, "Those who reject Islam must be killed. If they turn back (from Islam), take hold of them and kill them wherever you find them." Also, in Hadith Sahih al-Bukhari (Vol. 9, Book 84, No. 57), Muhammad said: "Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him."

Furthermore, the First Amendment states Congress cannot take away "the right of the people to peaceably assemble," yet Islamic law states non-Muslims cannot build any new places of worship or repair any old places Muslims have destroyed; they must allow Muslims to participate in their private meetings; they cannot bring their dead near the graveyards of Muslims or mourn their dead loudly.

In short, if you offend Islam in any way, you are killed. How can a devout Muslim possibly uphold the laws found in The Constitution if they believe these passages to be true?

Topic: The Qur’an vs. The Constitution
Discussed by Bill Federer

The Qur’an and The US Constitution are absolutely not compatible. If America becomes a Muslim country under a Muslim President, all non-Muslims will be forced to follow Shariah Law. Liberals like to think that their progressiveness is helping women and minorities, especially homosexuals and transgender people, and even Muslims. They are in for the shock of their lives if they are forced to follow Shariah Law!

Guess what Liberals! One of the first rights to be eliminated from the US Constitution will be your right to complain about Islam! The First Amendment states Congress cannot take away the right of the people "to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” However, Islamic law states non-Muslims are not to harbor any hostility toward the Islamic state or give comfort to those who disagree with Islamic government. You must shut your mouth or be killed!

Guns and all weapons (including horses!!) will be outlawed for all non-Muslims. Christians must allow Muslims to eat their food and live in their homes. All non-Muslims can have their possessions taken away at any given time for any (or no) reason. Muslims can kill an infidel without any fear of punishment. There is no “trial but jury” either under Shariah Law; there is a single judge. In fact, if you are not a Muslim, you aren’t even allowed into the court room!

Back to women and their rights…Liberals, seriously, you really need to listen in as Bill Federer gives the cold, hard truth about your future under Shariah Law.

The Thirteenth Amendment to the US Constitution abolished slavery. Under Islamic Law, however, slavery cannot be condemned or outlawed because Muhammad owned slaves. To condemn slavery would be to condemn Muhammad and that will never happen. Therefore, slavery continues in Islamic countries in many forms and would show its ugly face in America once again.

Title: The History of Bibles in the Military
Topic: Bibles in the Military
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

The Bible has become a hated book in America, especially in the military. For decades, Presidents have relied upon the Bible and its message to help them and others through difficult times. President Wilson, in 1917, gave pocket Bibles to WWI soldiers as they were heading to war. Each Bible was inscribed with a message from Wilson which read, in part, “The Bible is the Word of Life. I beg that you will read it and find this out for yourselves, read, not little snatches here and there, but long passages that will really be the road to the heart of it…When you have read the Bible you will know it is the Word of God, because you will have found in it the key to your own heart, your own happiness, and your own duty.

Bill Federer, with American Minute, discusses a General who wrote a note in the book of Psalms to service men, urging them to trust in the words found within. Even President Roosevelt wrote a forward in the New Testament for soldiers: “Walk humbly. You will do so if you study the life and teachings of the Savior.

Bill reveals how an organization recently sent Bibles to American soldiers in the Middle East and OUR Government had the Bibles burned because they didn’t want to offend the Muslims!! This is completely outrageous. Bill explains that people which have been conquered by Islam are not allowed to offend them in any way. By burning the Bibles, we basically told the Muslims that we surrender to them. Shameful!

So what happened? Why is the Bible becoming a thing of the past? Why do so many men and women hate it? Why are the courts in America throwing it to the curb? We can’t bring the Bible into public view now without someone, somewhere, crying and whining "Separation of church and state! This hurts my feelings! I need my safe room where I can color and hold a stuffed animal!

Title: Europe is Crumbling. America is Next.

Europe had been, for the most part, Judeo-Christian for centuries with spots of Jews scattered here and there. Then came the French Revolution. Things went from great to pretty bad to really, really, really bad very quickly. There was a leader named Maximilien Robespierre who was just awful. Listen in as Bill Federer gives a brief run-down of this part of history and why it is so important to remember.

Fast-forward to today… Just ten years ago, there was only a handful of mosques in Germany. Now there are over 300! The number one crime in Germany is rape (Muslims raping German women) and the number one name in England is now Muhammad. Bill goes on to reveal that 751 neighborhoods outside of Paris, France, have been completely taken over by Muslims. The police can do nothing about it except post signs which state “enter at your own risk”.

Here in America, through the UN resettlement program, thousands upon thousands Muslims are being moved to rural towns and big cities for “refuge” and “safety”. What about our refuge and safety from them? These are some of the most radical, dangerous people in the world and we are willingly bringing them to our country!

Bill discusses the possibility of an Arab Spring – an October Surprise – next year before the election. Will Muslims rise up and protest American Law, causing fear in people so great that the President is forced to take executive action? Listen in as Bill explains what could happen and what the President just might do. It’s pretty scary. Really, really scary.

Title: The Fall of Rome: Learning from History
Topic: History
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 3

There is much to learn from the past mistakes of leaders throughout history, specifically from the Roman Empire. All the information shared during these three segments will sound very familiar: too many immigrants, language barriers, the poor taking over…

Bill Federer  is a historical expert and founder of the American Minute.  Bill quotes Winston Churchill, saying “The further back you can look, the further forward you are likely to see.” He goes on to discuss the effects the Great Wall of China had on their enemies. Where did they go if they couldn’t invade China? To Rome!

It became very unpopular for wealthy families to have children. However, the servants and slaves were still having lots of babies. This posed a threat to the Empire. But why? What happened next? Listen in as Bill Federer gives the details and also explains the political process in Rome and the sneaky, sneaky ways the leaders distracted the people and convinced them to vote!

In this second segment, Bill continues to explain how the leaders conned the migrants from Mongolia and other poor citizens into trusting them. They used violent entertainment to appease them. They used free food. Still sounding familiar?

But where were the Christians during the fall of the Roman Empire? Hadn’t they been there for centuries? Why would they allow such practices to be observed? They were in the background by discouraging Christians from holding public office! After all, separation of church and state must be followed!

Bill also discusses the Roman Empire’s version of “abortion”. It was an absolutely despicable, horrible pagan practice. We, in America and other countries across the globe, must be reminded about the troubles in the Roman Empire and what led to its fall. We are following in their footsteps and that is definitely not a good thing.

Title: Part 3 of 3 - The Fall of Rome: Learning from History
Topic: History
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Bill concludes his interview about the Fall of the Roman Empire with thoughts about class warfare, taxes, outsourcing food from other countries, and military cuts.

The Roman Empire was a thriving Republic for years but when it came down to a fight between Pompeii and Caesar, things quickly turned. We all know Caesar eventually won, but at what cost? Bill Federer also explains how the tax collectors became greedy and corrupt. Ding ding ding! Again, sound familiar? Listen as Bill explains the drastic and barbaric ways these tax men abused their authority over the people which lasted for centuries.

Food. Food is a necessity for survival. At one time, people grew their own food, but this all stopped when the Roman Empire began outsourcing grain from Africa. Why would he do that and what happened to all the grain farmers? Yep, they lost. Bill also brings up the “vandals” who “vandalized” the African grain sources. What did Rome do? They couldn’t grow their own food anymore because the land turned to waste! This just added more fuel to the already raging fire.

Finally, Bill discusses military cuts and other issues with the military in Rome. The military was greatly weakened due to the cuts. They had to get creative with recruitment. Listen is as he gives more details about this issue and offers some final thoughts on what America must do to stop our downward spiral and avoid the Fall of the American Empire.

Title: Legal Influences On Our Founding Fathers
Topic: Birth of American Law
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 3

Sir William Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England, published 1765-1769 by Oxford's Clarendon Press, had an immense influence on America's founders, being considered the definitive pre-Revolutionary source of common law by United States courts."The principal aim of society is to protect individuals in the enjoyment of those absolute rights, which were vested in them by the immutable laws of nature".

Abraham Lincoln's life changed when a poor family heading west stopped by his little country store in Illinois and traded a barrel of miscellaneous items for food. At the bottom of the barrel, Lincoln found a copy of Blackstone's Commentary on English Law.

Besides, so what if a girl likes Buzz Light Year and a boy likes to pretend to mop and cook? That girl will just know how to defend herself if she gets picked on and that boy is going to make a great husband for a woman someday!

Blackstone's Commentaries were also read by 29-year-old attorney Charles Finney. Finney saw so many Scripture references in Blackstone's Law Commentaries that he bought a Bible. After reading in the Bible, Charles Finney, on October 10, 1821, decided to head into the woods near his home, saying: "I will give my heart to God, or I never will come down from there."

After several hours, he returned to his office, later writing: "The Holy Spirit...seemed to go through me, body and soul... Indeed it seemed to come in waves of liquid love, for I could not express it in any other way."

The next morning, at his law office, a church deacon suing a fellow-church member asked Finney about his case. Finney replied: "I have a retainer from the Lord Jesus Christ to plead his cause, and cannot plead yours."

Finney began presenting the Gospel with a convincing lawyer's argument. He would pray using common, colloquial language rather than in formal, traditional King's English.

Tent revivals and ‘alter calls’ became the ‘vogue’. Charles Finney began the tradition of an 'altar call' in his 1830 revival in Rochester, New York: "I had found, that with the higher classes especially, the greatest obstacle to be overcome was their fear of being known as anxious inquirers. They were too proud...Something was needed, to make the impression on them that they were expected at once to give up their hearts; something that would call them to act, and act as publicly before the world, as they had in their sins; something that would commit them publicly to the service of Christ... I had called them simply to stand up in the public congregations...to bring them out from among the mass of the ungodly, to a public renunciation of their sinful ways, and a public committal of themselves to God."

Concerning the Kingdom of God, he wrote: "Every member must work or quit. No honorary members."

Title: History Lesson on Confederacy and Slaves
Topic: History
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 2

If the Confederate Flag is forced to be removed, the Democrat Donkey and the Islamic Flag should both be discontinued as well. That is Bill Federer’s  opinion, anyway. First, if you recall from junior high US government history lessons, it was actually the Republicans in the north who wanted to stop slavery and the Democrats in the South who wanted to keep their slaves! This means the Democrat symbol of a donkey is offensive and should be banned.

Bill Federer also reveals that 180,000,000 Africans have been enslaved by Arab Muslims and millions of those people have died as a result of the cruel and horrific conditions they experience. There are still countries which allow Muslims to enslave blacks and our government is allowing it! Therefore, the Islamic Flag should be banned as well!

Another lost fact from history that many people either do not know or have forgotten is the formation of the Republican Party. Bill explains how the Federalists and Whigs fought and fought and fought each other and eventually the Republican Party (the anti-slavery party) was born in Wisconsin.

If you haven’t brushed up on your history in a while, listen in to these two segments with Bill as he explains his reasoning.

Title: Where would we be Today?
Topic: History
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 2

History is amazing. We can learn so much from our ancestors throughout the centuries. Unfortunately, schools just don’t teach the real facts anymore; if they do, it’s watered-down and easy-feeling.

Bill Federer, with the American Minute, is a history buff, as well as a nationally known speaker, best-selling author, and president of Amerisearch, Inc., a publishing company dedicated to researching America's noble heritage. Bill says this of history: “America is the freest and most prosperous country the planet earth has ever seen, with more individual liberty and opportunity than any other.” Have we forgotten where we came from and how we got here?

Bill discusses the battle in the Pacific in 1942. This was a tragic time, with much death and destruction around the world, especially in the Philippines and Singapore. But there was also much hope – hope for a better life and better future for those suffering at the hands of evil men.

America is not a perfect country. We have done some awful things in the past. But we have done far more good than bad. Bill offers some great quotes from famous people concerning this. Listen in!

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Where would we be Today?
Topic: History
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

What was the turning point of the war in the Pacific in 1942? On June 4, 1942, America code breakers intercepted a message that the Japanese planned to capture Midway Island and ultimately the rest of the Pacific. The US was far outnumbered, but they decided to ambush the Imperial Japanese forces. Listen in as Bill Federer explains how a small number of very brave US air force pilots chose to ignore the odds and went in with guns blazing. It’s an amazing story of bravery.

Bill goes on to reveal more about the process of the battle and the aftermath. He points out that President Roosevelt and the commander who went back to the Philippines both referenced God in the speeches to the people when the fighting was over. Democrats these days don’t even know who God is! And an army commander talking openly about God? That would never be allowed today.

Title: Christians Die Wherever ISIS Conquer
Topic: ISIS
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

"Wherever the Mohammedans have had complete sway…Christianity has ultimately disappeared” – Theodore Roosevelt

Between 1915 and 1922, the Muslims were conquering Armenia. In 1916, good ol’ Teddy wrote “Fear God and Take Your Part” concerning this awful war and slaughter of Christians. That is also when he wrote the above quote.

Bill Federer is a historian and is here today to give a little background about Theodore Roosevelt – probably many things you don’t know! Listen in as Bill talks about Teddy’s opinion about Muslims, Islam, Turkey, Asia, and Christianity in those areas.

Bill also discusses the horrific reality about Christians in Syria. They are now utterly wiped out. Gone. Either killed or fled to surrounding countries. For the first time in 2,000 years, there are no Christians in Syria. America has now gone from ignoring the fate of the Christians in the Middle East to actually arming the terrorists who are killing them – even funding them and giving them tanks and trucks.

Christians in the early days refused to fight, therefore were killed. Christians now are trying to fight but have no means to fight, therefore are killed, taken as slaves, or driven from their homes to strange lands. Bill Federer explains how ISIS and other terrorists are doing all this today with American guns and how our leaders abandoned our allies in the Middle East; President Obama has been the worst of them all.

Bill says, “Wahhabi, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, ISIS, ISIL, Syrian Rebels – Whatever they want to call themselves, their goal is to set up the Islamic state world-wide.

Title: The History of Syria
Topic: The History of Syria
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 1 of 3

Syria (or Assyria) was the first major Empire in the world; it was even mentioned in Genesis 2:14. The Assyrians were nice, loving, caring people who had a heart for God.

Then there was Neo-Assyria several hundred years later. These were not a peaceful people, slaughtering every person in their path. It was during this time when Jonah enters the picture and warns the people of Assyria to repent, or else. Well, they repented! Hallelujah!

The Assyrians and the Babylonians are significant to the history of Syria, especially after their repentance. They produced the fundamental basics of mathematics, the Pythagorean Theorem, the concept of zero, 360 degrees in a circle, parabolic domes and arches, and longitude and latitude in geography. Wow! All without Google, smart phones, or free Wi-Fi!

Interesting fact: Aramaic was the spoken language in Syria and most of the nations; it is even the language Jesus spoke. This language existed until 2013, when the last known Aramaic tribe was destroyed by ISIS terrorists.

Syria was the very first nation to be completely Christian – every single person was a Christian, no exceptions. This was during the time of Paul, who we know loved to preach the Word! Under the guidance of Paul, the Syrians, who consequently created the word “Christian”, spread the Gospel throughout India, Mongolia, and even China!

We also attribute universities and even hospitals to the Christian Syrians. For centuries, countries modeled their universities and hospitals after the Christian Syrians. Listen in as Historian Bill Federer discusses these interesting facts about Syria.

Title: Part 3 of 3 - The History of Syria
Topic: The History of Syria
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

In 634 AD, the Muslim Arabs entered Syria, killing Christians and claiming the land as their own. Then in 1268 AD, the Muslim Turks invaded Syria, selling the women into slavery, beheading the men, burning churches…basically what we see happening now in Syria.

Bill Federer also discusses the crusades, which were in response to a plea for help from the Christian Syrians. Some crusades were successful; others were not. Unfortunately, the last traces of any Christian in Syria was in 1291 AD.

It’s really sad when you think about the history of Syria, how it went from being the first Christian nation in the world at 25 BC to being completely obliterated in 1291 AD. Many lives in the Eastern Hemisphere were touched by the Christian Syrians. Many lives were changed. Many souls were saved for eternity.

But the killing wasn’t over! Over 17 million Christians were killed from Persia to Central Asia by a crazed Turkish Muslim leader by the name of Tamerlane beginning in 1399. Tamerlane rounded up the Christians and murdered them, even using their skulls to erect huge towers.

Thankfully, a peaceful leader was able to overthrow the murderers, putting the military in charge of keeping the peace. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a whole lot better. There was peace for hundreds of years, until the last election in Syria, when the new leaders invited the bad guys back to play. And now our leaders in America are supplying the new terrorist groups with money and guns.

Topic: Slavery
Discussed by Bill Federer

Part 1 of 5

Nearly all ancient cultures made captives of war serve as slaves, such as in Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Greece, China, India, Africa, and Rome. In fact, over half of Rome's population were slaves.

One form of slavery was generational indebtedness, spread by Roman Emperor Diocletian. The Roman economy was so bad that people unable to pay their mortgages abandoned their properties, renounced their Roman citizenship, and went off to live with the barbarians.

Diocletian stimulus plan made it so people could never be free from their debts tying them and their children to the land in perpetuity, creating the feudal system.

Title: Slavery in the New World
Topic: Slavery
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 3 of 5

Slavery in Cuba began earlier and lasted longer than anywhere else in the Americas. When Spain conquered the New World in the early 1500's, conquistadors deposed Indian government leaders and ruled in their stead. As Indian populations had been trained to obey government orders, they willingly obeyed their new leaders, even though it meant dying of forced labor in silver mines, such as Potosi.

Then, those wanting slave labor replaced them with Africans purchased from Muslim slave markets. A notorious trade triangle developed with Havana, Cuba, at its center. Some North American Indians were even sold into slavery in the West Indies.

In North America, Christian missionaries and movements, especially Quakers, Moravians, and Methodists, were a voice of conscience against slavery. Even so, many poor Europeans sold themselves as 'indentured servants', a temporary slavery for seven years in exchange for transportation to America.

Title: African Slaves Brought to America
Topic: Slavery
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Part 4 of 5

The first African slaves were brought to North America on a Dutch ship to Virginia in 1619. A Portuguese ship from Sierra Leone sold 53 slaves to Spanish Planters on the Cuban ship Amistad. On July 1, 1839, the Africans seized the ship and demanded to be sailed back to Africa. Instead, the captain misdirected the ship to Long Island, NY, where the slaves were arrested.

The Amistad case went to the Supreme Court, with 74-year-old former President, John Quincy Adams, defending the Africans. Adams stated, "By the blessing of God, I will argue the case before the Supreme Court," and wrote in his journal, October 1840: "I implore the mercy of God to control my temper, to enlighten my soul, and to give me utterance, that I may prove myself in every respect equal to the task."

Francis Scott Key offered Adams legal advice. Adams shook hands with Africans Cinque and Grabeau, saying: "God willing, we will make you free." Wining the case, John Quincy Adams, known as "Old Man Eloquent," had argued:  "The moment you come to the Declaration of Independence, that every man has a right to life and liberty, an inalienable right, this case is decided. I ask nothing more in behalf of these unfortunate men than this Declaration."

"The First Amendment, however, does not say that in every and all respects there shall be a separation of Church and State...

Otherwise the state and religion would be aliens to each other - hostile, suspicious, and even unfriendly...

Municipalities would not be permitted to render police or fire protection to religious groups.

Policemen who helped parishioners into their places of worship would violate the Constitution.”

The head of the National Socialist Workers' Party, Adolph Hitler, became Chancellor of Germany on January 30, 1933, and immediately began implementing a plan of universal healthcare, with no regard for conscience.

When the first 273,000 German elderly, terminally ill, and mentally challenged were killed in gas chambers, there was no outcry from that medical profession.

Then the criminals, convicts, street bums, beggars, and gypsies, considered "leeches" on society, met a similar fate.

Eventually, to rid the human gene pool of what Nazi's considered "untermensch", under mankind, Hitler's immoral plan sent 6 million Jews, along with millions of others, to the Holocaust gas chambers and ovens.

History lesson: The Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts, not Virginia as some believe. Bad weather hindered them from traveling further south.

When they arrived, the first “adventurers” drafted an agreement amongst themselves. This agreement resembled a communist form of government.

But, did it work? Listen in as Bill Federer explains.

Many people do not know that the first settlers in America, some of whom were Founding Fathers, actually began their life on the new continent with a communist form of government. Surprised?

Why didn’t it work? Americans today, especially some of our nation’s leaders, could take a lesson or two or three from the Pilgrims’ failed attempt at communism.

Did you know that North Africa used to be predominantly Christian? It’s true, but the Christians in that area believed that in order to be “good” Christian, they must sell all their possessions and live in caves apart from everyone else.

They were not being “salt to the earth”, as Christ commanded. Our first responsibility as Christians is to spread the Gospel to all the corners of the earth. But we must also fight for the preservation of our religious liberty.

Listen in as Bill describes what we must do to win a spiritual war against Sharia Law and Communism in America.

Title: Alter Call Popularized by Attorney Charles Finney
Topic: Charles Finney
Discussed by Bill Federer

Part 1 of 3

A 29-year old attorney, Charles Finney, saw so many Scripture references in Blackstone’s Law Commentaries that he bought a Bible and went into the woods to either find God or never come out.

The next morning at his law office, a church deacon suing a follow-church member asked Finney about his case. Finney replied, “I have a retainer from the Lord Jesus Christ to plead his cause and cannot plead yours.” Then he became a preacher. What happened next?

Charles Finney, an attorney turned preacher, began preaching and presenting the Gospel with a convincing lawyer’s argument and praying in a common, colloquial language.

He began the tradition of an ‘altar call’ in his 1830 revival in Rochester, New York.

Finney stated, “I had found … with the higher classes especially … the greatest obstacle to be overcome was … they were too proud…” So Finney abandoned the use of the “anxious seat” for the ‘alter call’.

Why the ‘alter call’? Finney once stated, “Something was needed, o make the impression on them that they were expected at once to give up their hearts … something what would call them to act, and act as publicly before the world, as they had in their sins … something that would commit them publicly to the service of Christ…

He began the tradition of an ‘altar call’ in his 1830 revival in Rochester, New York.

Charles Finney inspired George Williams to found the YMCA; William and Catherine Booth to found the Salvation Army; and his Benevolent Empire, an organization to help the poor and aged had a budget rivaling the Federal Government.

Every member must work or quit. No honorary members,” he said. No wonder America experienced the Second Great Awakening.

In Medieval Europe, most countries had only one person to vote for - the King.

In colonial America only landowners voted, then those owning a certain amount of personal property.

After the Revolution, states gradually let those without land vote if they paid taxes. In Texas, that is why the Tax Assessor-Collector is also the Voter Registrar. Listen in…

Noah Webster wrote in 1832: “When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers ‘just men who will rule in the fear of God’.

He continued, “The preservation of a republican government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty."

Noah Webster further stated: “If the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made not for the public good so much as for the selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded…”

What do we have in America today?

Port Royal, Jamaica surpassed Boston as England’s most prosperous New World Settlement. Half of the 200 ships a year passing through this port transported slaves, liquor and contraband trade.

Port Royal was called “the richest and wickedest" city in the world. Many called it “the Sodom of the New World”.

Did it deserve being destroyed?

Suddenly, on June 7, 1692, an earthquake shook violently, then a tsunami which was followed by many aftershocks.

Enormous waves tossed ships from the harbor onto buildings, and in many places the ground opened up and “swallow’d up multitudes of people…”

One member of the Jamaica Council declared: “…an instance of God Almighty’s severe judgment…”

An earthquake and tsunami destroyed the Sodom of the New World, Port Royal, on June 7, 1692.

Will God have to resurrect Sodom and Gomorrah, breathe life into those dead, dry bones, get on His knees and ask the inhabitants that He killed for forgiveness, if He does not judge America?

Oh God, forgive me, for I am such a sinner….may Your people humble themselves and pray and seek Your face and turn from their wicked ways; so that You will hear from heaven, and forgive our sin and heal our land.

Edmund Burke: “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” Burke said this on January 9, 1795 in response to the French Revolution. So, what does this have to do with American and the economy today?
