Title: Applying the Word to Your Life Daily
Topic: Motivational and Inspirational
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)

Pastor Ed Ethridge reminds us that the Bible is there for us to use daily. If you’re having a bad day – the Bible offers hope. If you’re having a good day – the Bible encourages. Open your Bible today and let God’s Word guide your steps.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What does “iron sharpens iron” mean?

When believers are involved in one another's lives, does mutual edification occur?

Is the statement “two are better than one” true? What is the three-fold chord? Read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Is fellowship beneficial for humans in general, but all the more so for Christians? Read Matthew 18:19-20

The Corona lockdown has forced many people home on Sundays to watch church online from their couch. Why should Christians go back to church? Read Hebrews 10:25 (this is not a suggestion; it is a command)

Pastor Ed usually presents the Wednesday night sermon at Champion Forest Baptist Church (main campus) in NW Houston. Click here  for more information.

Title: Will Christianity in America Survive?
Topic: Motivational and Inspirational
Discussed by Mario Murillo
with Mario Murillo Ministries (www.mariomurilloministries.wordpress.com)

Future generations of Christians, if there be any, will be profoundly baffled by us. They will ask “why did you let trivial and foolish matters eat up so much time?” Why did we? Why DO we?

Mario Murillo is with Mario Murillo Ministries. Although the topic today may be harsh and maybe even a little depressing, it is one that must be discussed and acted upon. Listen as Mario offers hope and encouragement.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What can we do about the demons that are strangling Christians in America?

Some people think that once you become a Christian, Satan will leave you alone. Mario says that is like “believing the bull will not charge because you’re a vegetarian.

Can we dismantle their strongholds?

What will your legacy be?

Title: Helen Keller: Did She Pity Herself?
Topic: Motivational and Inspirational
Discussed by Bill Federer
with American Minute (www.AmericanMinute.com)

Helen Keller was born on June 27, 1880. At the age of 2, she suffered an illness which left her blind and deaf. But Helen did not let this define her life or defeat her.

Bill Federer, our favorite historian, wishes Helen Keller a “Happy Birthday”!

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What did Helen Keller say about “self-pity”?

Did Helen Keller support many different causes?

What are four things we can learn from Helen Keller?

How was Helen Keller introduced to Jesus? This is an amazing story!

Helen Keller once said: "Try to imagine how you would feel if you were suddenly stricken blind today.
Picture yourself stumbling and groping at noonday as in the night; your work, your independence, gone. In that dark world, wouldn't you be glad if a friend took you by the hand and said, 'Come with me and I will teach you how to do some of the things you used to do when you could see.’”

Topic: Motivational and Inspirational
Discussed by Christi Lynn
with Focus on the Family www.Family.org

When you were a child, did an adult (other than a relative) greatly impact your life?

Christi Lynn will be discussing the John Avery Whittaker Award today. JAW is, of course, the beloved soda shop owner in the kids’ radio drama Adventures in Odyssey who was known for his listening ear and wise advice. Note: Christi is the Marketing Director of “Kids and Culture” within Focus on the Family.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why do we love John Avery Whittaker so much?

What is the JAW Award?

Christi also discusses something new and fun in the forthcoming Adventures in Odyssey Bible.

Is it important to teach a child how to read the bible from an early age? Christi likes to say, “Kids need a strong foundation. With parenting, a lot of things are caught, not taught.” Listen in as she explains…

Title: Why would a pro-football team want Tim Tebow?
Topic: Motivational and Inspirational
Discussed by Dr. James Thrasher
with The Institute for Faith and Freedom (www.FaithAndFreedom.com)

The Jacksonville Jaguars recently hired a new coach, Urban Meyer, to get their team out of a horrible slump. Urban Meyer, in turn, signed out-spoken Christian Tim Tebow. Now the media and the left are attacking the team, Meyer, and Tebow in a ruthless manner.

Dr. James Thrasher recently wrote about this controversy. He makes this prediction: “Tim Tebow will make the Jags 53-man regular season roster, and the Jags will emerge as a rising NFL franchise. This will not transpire because of Tebow’s ability to run tight routes and catch bullet passes, but because of his unmatched ability to contribute to a transformed team culture. Mark my words, it’s all about culture.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What is “the culture”?

No matter what the team/business/church/family/sports, does the culture dictate everything from how a team practices and functions to its overall performance?

Does Tim Tebow passionately bring out the best in those around him?

Dr. Thrasher is the Senior Advisor to the Vice President for Student Recruitment at Grove City College. Is Tim Tebow a student he would recruit based solely on his leadership skills?
