Title: Did the Early Church Practice Socialism?
Topic: Socialism
Discussed by Dr. Paul Kengor
with The Institute for Faith and Freedom (www.FaithAndFreedom.com)
Part 1 of 2
Many people are under the misguided belief that the Early Church from Acts 4 practiced Socialism.
Professor Dr. Paul Kengor, and many others, disputes this claim and today he
explains why. Dr. Kengor is a Political Science Professor and Chief Academic
Fellow at the Institute for Faith and Freedom at Grove City College. More can be
found
here.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Are religions, especially Christianity, incompatible with Communism?
As a general rule, are all Socialist atheists?
Is a Socialist Christian Church an oxymoron?
Did Marx and Lenin write their playbook by indirectly referencing the book of Acts from the Bible? Did they deny this?
Acts 4:32-35 describes a church where they had everything in common. Is there a difference between “distributed to each according to need” and “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs”?

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Did the Early Church Practice Socialism?
Topic: Socialism
Discussed by Dr. Paul Kengor
with The Institute for Faith and Freedom (www.FaithAndFreedom.com)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Is Christianity a religious movement?
Is Socialism/Communism an anti-religious movement?
FACT: Karl Marx wrote: “Religion is the sigh of the
oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless
conditions. It is the opium of the people.”
FACT: Vladimir Lenin wrote: “Religion is the opium of the
masses. It is a kind of spiritual booze. There is nothing more abominable than
religion. All worship of the divinity is a necrophilia.”
Did Marx and Engels close the Communist Manifesto by calling for the “forcible
overthrow of all existing social conditions”? Is this what we are seeing
now in cities across the countries where BLM and Antifa are rioting and looting?
Dr. Kengor quotes Pope Pius XI advised: “Those who want to be apostles among
socialists ought to profess Christian truth whole and entire, openly and
sincerely, and not connive at error in any way. If they truly wish to be heralds
of the Gospel, let them above all strive to show to socialists that socialist
claims, so far as they are just, are far more strongly supported by the
principles of Christian faith and much more effectively promoted through the
power of Christian charity.”
In other words: If you’re a Christian, just be a Christian. Practice the Gospel.
Don’t buy into an atheistic creed.
Does the Bible stand on the pillar of private property ownership?
Do Socialist and Communist thrive on envy?
Are the young millennials eager to reject their parents’ religion because of
what they are taught? Can we summarize too much of their instruction as a
revolutionary ideology that completely rejects religion?
Is the newly elected Georgia State Representative Reverend Raphael Warnock
spreading false doctrine?
Are the young in America being taught that there is nothing more abominable than
Christianity?
When college students are presented with the truth of both sides (Capitalism vs
Socialism), do they usually align with Capitalism?
Is America still the greatest country in the world? Dr. Kengor believes this has
a complicated answer and it is directly linked to the decline in church
attendance.

Title: America: We Have a Problem
Topic: Socialism
Discussed by Dr. Don Boys
with Common Sense News for Today (www.cstnews.com)
Part 1 of 3
Polls indicate that many in the younger generations have a fuzzy, freakish, friendly feeling toward Socialism. Did the older generations not do a good job rearing them?
Dr. Don Boys is a former member of the Indiana House of Representatives who ran a large Christian School in Indianapolis. Dr. Boys wrote columns for
USA Today for eight years and has authored eighteen books. Click
here for more on this and other topics.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
How many people died around the world during the 20th Century from Socialism?
Are kids being taught the truth about Socialism – that it has killed hundreds of millions around the world? Dr. Boys believes it’s not just the public school system; it’s the parents’ faults, too.
Do
polls as recent as 2019 indicate that over half of millennials believe some sort of Socialism would be good for America?
What did Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher say about Socialism?
Are there any government-run programs that operate effectively and efficiently?
If the government decides to tax the top 1% and give to the poor, will they soon have to tax the top 5%, then the top 10%? Will they run out of people to tax?
Who gets to decide how to divide up everything?
Does Socialism ultimately lead to Communism?

Title: Part 2 of 3 - America: We Have a Problem
Topic: Socialism
Discussed by Dr. Don Boys
with Common Sense News for Today (www.cstnews.com)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Are kids/teens/college students taught that all the other nations that have
tried Socialism simply “did it wrong” and America will “get it
right”?
Why are Progressive Democrat Socialists targeting Capitalism?
If Capitalism is destroyed, is free enterprise destroyed, too?
Reminder: The original settlers of America did not leave an oppressive
government to live under a new oppressive government. They came to live as free
Americans. Too many people have forgotten this.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Rush Limbaugh: “It’s hard to compete against Santa Claus.” Are too many
Americans addicted to “free stuff”?
Many corporations have joined forces with the Progressive Democrat Socialists,
which is part of the problem we are seeing in America today. Is there hope for
the Church?
Is it time to just give up and quit?

Title: Do Americans Still Think Socialism is a Great Idea?
Topic: Socialism
Discussed by Dr. George Barna
with Cultural Research Center (www.CulturalResearchCenter.com)
The latest findings from the Cultural Research Center at
Arizona Christian University's 2020 Post-Election Survey shown a sharp
and relatively rapid decline in popular support for Socialism, with less than a
third of all American adults (32%) preferring it to Capitalism in the wake of
the 2020 election.
Dr. George Barna has more details about the
survey.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Who was polled in the latest poll by the CRC?
What percentage of Americans prefer Capitalism?
What percentage of Americans prefer Socialism?
Since 2018, more and more adults prefer Capitalism to Socialism. Why?
Are there some Christians who believe Socialism is the better system? If so,
why?
The President of Arizona Christian University, Dr. Len Munsil, stated: “The
survey shows that having a Biblical worldview is the best defense against the
proliferation of Socialism.”
What can Christians do NOW to stop the spread of Socialism?

Title: A City Without a Soul
Topic: Socialism
Discussed by John Horvat
with Return to Order www.ReturnToOrder.org
Part 1 of 2
The socialist-run country of China had a great idea: clean up a dump filled with sewage and build a brand-new city with housing, schools, and businesses.
The people will want to move there! Well, the opposite is actually happening. Even though the government has closed schools in other cities, forcing students to attend schools in Tieling New City, the parents don’t want to move out of their old neighborhoods. Even government employees who have moved their offices to the new city still commute to work. The only jobs which are readily available in the new city are for security positions because there are no businesses.
In his book, “Return to Order”, John Horvat points out from the exuberant element of life together in society, there springs forth “unique systems of art, styles of life, socio-political institutions, and economic models that differ from the rigid and soulless central planning and one-size-fits-all solutions so prized by socialists and bureaucrats.” As for Tieling New City, the people just don’t want to move there because they don’t know anyone and they don’t have a connection. They say the city doesn’t have a “soul”.
The same thing has been happening in America for decades in the inner cities. The government has spent trillions of dollars renovating older cities which just turn bad again. The government has spent billions on education in low-performing schools with nothing to show for their effort. “There are really great programs on paper, but when it comes to implementing them, it just doesn’t work,” John Horvat says. So what does he suggest? He also has some comments about the security of our nation against Muslim extremists. Listen in to the next segment with John for more!

Topic: Socialism
Discussed by John Horvat
with Return to Order www.ReturnToOrder.org
So what’s the solution? How can we “fix it”? Maybe
government isn’t the answer! John Horvat says, “The soul of the society
comes from the family, the community, and the church. Bring back the human
element.” The government sucks the soul out, so they need to step back.
Period. “We need to go from GOV to GOD.”

Patrick Henry also
said: "There is a just God who presides over the destines of nations ...
who will raise up friends to fight our battle for us.” These words, in
my opinion, are even more important than his others.
America must turn back to God and trust Him with our lives or our country will
turn to ruin.
II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
