Title: Gun Buying Habits of Americans
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Larry Pratt
with Gun Owners of America (www.GunOwners.org)

Larry Pratt has been the Executive Director of Gun Owners of America for over thirty years. Larry will be discussing several issues surrounding guns and gun sales today.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why do gun sales increase after mass shootings?

Do gun sales increase only in the county where the shooting occurred or is there an increase across the country?

Should gun owners be required to take a gun safety course?

Do many first-time gun buyers participate in gun safety training programs voluntarily?

Title: Are Gun-Free Zones the Answer?
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Michael Hammond
with Gun Owners of America (www.GunOwners.org)

The Ohio State attacker had free reign to attack anyone he wanted at Ohio State since that university is a gun-free zone. The Somali-born student injured 11 people, one of them critically, when he attacked a crowd of pedestrians on campus in an incident one lawmaker said "bears all the hallmarks of a terror attack." What was his weapon of choice? A knife.

Michael Hammond is Legislative Council for Gun Owners of America. He is here today to discuss this incident and offers helpful information.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why are officials (through the MSM) refusing to admit this specific attack was terrorist-related?

Thank goodness an alarm went off for an un-related incident in the “gun-free zone”, because a campus police officer was on scene and stopped the attacker within one minute. Michael Hammond elaborates on the MSM original story and what really happened.

Did you hear the story of the young woman who reported that three military-trained students barricaded themselves in front of their classroom door – it is amazing!

If companies like McDonalds and Nike can use social media to determine where I shop, eat, and travel, why can’t the FBI use the same information to target terrorists?

Title: Obama Pounces on Gun Control
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Victor Medina
with Unhyphenated America (www.unhyphenatedamerica.org)

Democrats seized the moments, but Republicans never engaged. Or did they and were they just ignored by the MSM?

New guest, Victor Medina, is a free-lance writer who contributes to many news sources, including Unhyphenated America, the Dallas Morning News, Yahoo News, and others. Today, he will be discussing the Orlando shooting, Obama, and Republicans.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why are Conservatives getting sucker-punched, taking quick jabs, and knock-out blows while standing flat footed? “Democrats will unify even when they don’t like each other,” Victor states. He believes that Republicans need to unify on this issue, as well as others. That seems to be the problem – lack of unification.

So, why can’t Conservatives seem to unify? Are we too busy fighting each other, fighting for position, and begging for money? Victor has some strong opinions about this and also gives some suggestions on how to become engaged and fight for our country.

Title: Is Banning Guns the Answer?
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Christopher Harris
with Unhyphenated America (www.unhyphenatedamerica.org)

Let’s just ban guns in Chicago to stop crime! Oh wait – they already are banned! What do we do now?

Christopher Harris is with Unhyphenated America. He unashamedly does not call himself an African American. He is just an American. Today, he reveals some shocking information from Father’s Day in Chicago, Obama’s town and home to a city-wide, gun-free zone.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Christopher Harris has experienced a tremendous amount of racism during his lifetime, especially after he chose to leave the Democrat Party. He refuses to let that part of his life define him.

After the tragedy in Orlando, what are “protectors” advising average citizens do to protect themselves?

NOTE: In 2007, authorities and citizens alike were astounded that twenty-seven homicides occurred in the city of Chicago over the course of one year. Listen in as Christopher reveals how many shootings and homicides happened this past Father’s Day weekend. It will absolutely break your heart.

Is this violence often related to guns and gangs?

Are stricter gun-ownership laws the answer?

Title: Smoke and Mirrors
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Hans von Spakovsky
with The Heritage Foundation (www.Heritage.org)

Taking Away Constitutional Rights at the Discretion of the Government. The latest “gun control” proposal being put forward by Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) is a “measure that would block people on the Transportation Security Administration’s no–fly list from buying firearms” according to ABC News.

Hans von Spakovsky says there is one problem with this proposal: It is unconstitutional. Listen in as he and Terry discuss this issue. You can find his article here.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What does Senator Collins’ proposal ‘really’ mean?

Who is on the “No-Fly List”, who is in charge of it, and why is it so secretive?

What must we do to keep guns away from terrorists? NOTE: The FBI is not allowed to do any type of surveillance at Mosques in the US. The FBI is not allowed to look at social media, either, of Islamists.

Too many people are afraid of being labeled as a bigot, therefore we are facing this deadly issue today. Can you imagine the outcry, however, if Congress took away a person’s right to vote, too?

Title: The Dirty Secret about the Senate, Guns, and Gun Control
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Dr. John Lott, Jr.
with Crime Research Prevention Center (www.crimeresearch.org)

The dirty secret about the four Senate Gun Control bills.

New guest John R. Lott, Jr. is a columnist for FoxNews.com. He is an economist and a leading gun expert. His op-eds on that issue are done in conjunction with the Crime Prevention Research Center. He is the author of eight books, including "More Guns, Less Crime” and "Dumbing Down the Courts: How Politics Keeps the Smartest Judges Off the Bench". You can follow John on Twitter.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What is the dirty secret about the four different bills recently voted on by the U.S. Senate?

Would ending gun-free zones help to reduce the number and severity of the casualties?

But is the discussion of reducing the number of gun-free zones being completely ignored?

Senator Dianne Feinstein’s (D-Calif.) bill would ban people on the “No Fly List” from buying guns. Is this a step in the right direction? Or is it a futile hope grasping at straws? John Lott explains how “easy” it is to become branded for life on the “No Fly List”.

Is there any crime-reducing benefit from criminal background checks on gun purchases?

France’s strict weapon bans didn’t stop terrorists in any of the four terrorist attacks from getting all the AK-47s and explosive belts they needed for their devastating attacks on Paris. Is this an argument against banning the purchase of weapons? “Obviously everyone wants to stop terrorists from getting weapons,” John states. But banning guns will never stop the “bad guys” from getting them!

While Senator Chris Murphy’s (D-Conn.) bill would require background checks on transfer of guns between private parties, is this also completely unrelated to past mass public shootings?

Is the current back-ground check system a mess?

Title: Gun Rights will be No More
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Michael Hammond
with Gun Owners of America (www.GunOwners.org)

Michael Hammond is Legislative Counsel for Gun Owners of America. He is here today to discuss Loretta Lynch’s testimony concerning the Justice Department’s role in implementing executive actions on gun control. After hearing Loretta’s testimony, Michael believes that Obama has no intention of allowing any type of debate concerning gun control. He is simply going to “wave his hand, declare himself king, and say this is what the law is.” Obama wants to make it illegal to collect guns or even be a gun hobbyist. He also wants to make these “crimes” punishable by up to five years in prison!

You will basically need to have a dealer’s license to buy or sell guns in America,” Michael continues. But guess what? The Obama administration isn’t giving dealer’s licenses to anyone who doesn’t own a brick-and-mortar store! To make matters worse, Loretta Lynch isn’t revealing what the guidelines even are. So, basically, every individual person who own more than a few guns could potentially find themselves in jail. Michael Hammond also reveals that the “no court cases were cited” in order to implement these so-called guidelines.

Gun Owners of America wants Loretta Lynch and the Obama administration to, at bare minimum, “reverse all of Obama’s executive actions “. Is this too much to hope for? After all, Obama has to sign the paper to erase his legacy!

Michael also briefly discusses the differences between executive “actions” and executive “order”. You can learn more about your rights as a gun owner here.

Title: Pinocchio Gives Obama the Whopper Award
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Philip Wegmann
with The Daily Signal (www.dailysignal.com)

New guest Philip Wegmann is a Congressional Correspondent for The Daily Signal. He and others decided to fact check the outrageous statements Obama claimed during his speech last week on gun control. What they found probably won’t shock you, but you should still know the truth. In this interview, Philip reveals the four biggest lies told by Obama to the American people.

1. Claim:We are the only advanced country on Earth that sees this kind of mass violence erupt with this kind of frequency. It doesn’t happen in other advanced countries. It’s not even close.”

2. Claim:The problem is, some gun sellers have been operating under a different set of rules. A violent felon can buy the exact same weapon over the Internet with no background check, no questions asked.”

3. Claim: If there’s an app that can help us find a missing tablet,” Obama said, “there’s no reason we can’t do it with a stolen gun.” Just as a child “can’t open a bottle of aspirin,” he added, a child shouldn’t be able to “pull a trigger on a gun.”

4. Claim: And the constant excuses for inaction no longer do, no longer suffice. That’s why we are here today. Not to debate the last mass shooting, but to do something to prevent the next one.”

Title: Analyzing the President’s Gun Speech
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Lt. Governor Dan Patrick
with Dan Patrick www.DanPatrick.org

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick discusses President Obama’s gun speech he gave this past Tuesday. He says, “There is a focus on controlling guns in America, but it won’t change the fact that the more American’s protect themselves, the more crime goes down.” In fact, statistics show that more people than ever are buying guns! Obama appears to be the best salesman for the gun lobbyists! Listen in as Dan Patrick explains this opinion that many have…

Fact: In 2000, only 35% of Americans felt they needed a gun to protect their family; today over 63% feel they need a gun!

Dan also discusses the incredible increase in the amount of women who are seeking gun permits. It is much, much higher than men! The number of people in urban areas buying guns is always increasing. Why are they so concerned?

Obama’s crazy gun-control ideas won’t stop when his term as President is over. Hillary has promised to take his agenda even further if she is elected! We cannot allow this to happen.

Title: Analyzing the President’s Gun Speech
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Larry Pratt
with Gun Owners of America (www.GunOwners.org)

What is the answer to the ever-increasing problem of gun violence in America? The President seems to think the problem can be solved by taking guns away from honest, hard-working American citizens who are simply wanting to protect their family or hunt for food. Many Conservatives in Congress are shouting “Don’t worry! We won’t let him take your guns!” But do they really have the guts to stand up to Obama and his leftist, gun-hating friends?

Larry Pratt says, “They know what they should do, but they are not likely to do it.” Just look what they did with Obamacare! They haven’t done anything about that issue, so why should we expect a different outcome now? Larry brings up Eric Cantor and refreshes our memory about what happened to him!

Larry also breaks down Obama’s wishes for new gun laws and regulations, which he outlined in his speech on Tuesday, January 5th. What Obama wants to do not only borders on tyranny, but is just plain foolish and absurd, especially when it involves senior citizens gun rights. Additionally, his proposals will do absolutely nothing to deter criminals from obtaining guns – whether legally or illegally at a gun show or a gun shop.

Long story short, Larry Pratt says, “Government can’t be trusted. They break their word. They get information and they abuse it.” If you have questions regarding Obama’s new proposed gun regulations, please contact Gun Owners of America  at (888) 886-GUNS.

Title: Ban All Knives! They Kill People!
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Luke Adler
with Author

FACT: According to this FBI report,  there were 11,961 murders in the United States in 2014.  Of those murders, 660 were committed unarmed, 1,567 were committed with knives, and only 248 murders were committed using rifles of any type, including single-shot long arms and “assault rifles” routinely demonized by gun control groups.

Luke Adler, a retired US Marshall, discusses some instances where “edged weapons” were used to kill people in what were deemed “mass killings”. He says the data proves itself. “In the UK, someone is assaulted with a knife every four minutes,” Luke reveals. Four minutes!! But how does the US compare? Listen in as Luke gives the facts!

The government wants us to fully rely on them, the police, and the EMS when something bad like a shooting or robbery occurs. However, the national average response time is seven minutes. Seven minutes!! We have the right to protect ourselves and our families. The bandits will use whatever they can get their hands on. We should be able to respond in kind.

The issue we should be focusing on, though, is how many lives are saved because someone had a gun and wasn’t afraid to use it. According to the Buckeye Firearm Association, guns are used an average of 2.5 Million times each year to prevent a crime, usually without a shot being fired, meaning that guns are used over 300 times more often to save innocent lives. “The bad guys want to see law-abiding citizens unarmed. They want to see police officers defenseless. That is what they want,” Luke Adler warns. And he is exactly right.

Luke encourages every law-abiding citizen to consider owning some sort of firearm to protect your home, business, and family. “I practice gun control at the range as often as I possibly can. You should do the same,” Luke believes.

You can order a copy of Luke Adler’s great book, “Chasing Bandits”, on Amazon.

Title: Myths About Gun Control
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Sterling Burnett
with Heartland Institute (www.Heartland.org)

Part 1 of 5

Does eating ice cream and hamburgers every day “make” someone overweight? Does the car “make” a drunk driver kill innocent people? Does a gun “make” a person a murderer?

Most people would answer “that’s just silly” to the first two questions, yet are firm believers in the third.

Fewer than one percent of all guns are involved in a crime and only twelve percent of all violent crimes involve a gun.

Even in Canada, Taiwan, and Jamaica, the murder rate sharply increased after strict gun laws were passed, so “gun control” is not just an American problem.

Title: Part 2 of 5
Topic: Gun Control
Discussed by Sterling Burnett
with Heartland Institute (www.Heartland.org)

One of the biggest arguments on the table about gun control is that guns are of little help in defending oneself against criminals. Women have been told to vomit or urinate on an attacker. Men have been told to use their fists. Well, if an attacker has a gun and you don’t, then a little puke or pee or fist pumping sure isn’t going to deter them in any way, shape, or form.

Each year, potential victims kill between 2,000 and 3,000 criminals and wound many more.

Furthermore, private citizens only mistakenly kill approximately 30 people per year, while 330 are killed by police.

Title: Part 3 of 5

Discussed by Sterling Burnett
with Heartland Institute (www.Heartland.org)

So many people are under the mistaken belief that the only reason criminals buy, steal, or trade guns is to use the weapon in a crime. Fewer than half of all criminals think that handguns are important to use during a crime.

Criminals have guns to protect themselves against other criminals. Their main objective isn’t to kill the store clerk in a robbery. They just want the money. They use the gun to scare people.

Title: Part 4 of 5

On average, there is only one police officer to protect every 3,300 citizens.

In any given year, twenty-five percent of people will be affected by a serious crime. Those odds are not very reassuring.

So, when you hear someone argue that average people don’t need a gun for self-protection, tell them those facts.

Maybe they’ll believe you; maybe they won’t. But you’ve probably got them thinking…

Armed criminals are more likely to be killed by an armed citizen than by an armed police officer.

Title: Will Obama’s Executive Orders Make You Safer?

Part 1 of 2

Article II of the US Constitution allows for the President to sign Executive Orders. Presidents have used their “power” to sign Executive Orders before. But somewhere, somehow, the meaning behind “Executive Order” has become twisted and abused.

If you didn’t know already, President Obama issued 23 Executive Orders on January 16. But one of the orders, which allows incentives for that share background check information” is quite hypocritical. Why can’t we apply this principal of “shared information” when it comes to voter registration to curtail voter fraud?

Is impeachment the answer? Is it even an option? Some people seem to think so.

Obama’s recent Executive Order is supposedly meant to keep Americans safer. But one of the orders requires the government to hire “resource officers to develop model emergency response plans” for schools. Isn’t that what the School Board, Superintendents, Principals, and local police forces are for? Aren’t they supposed to develop a safety plan and then protect the students and staff in case of an emergency? Why the need for more wasteful spending?

I could go on and on, but just listen to this segment second with Robert Knight for more detailed information about Obama’s Gun Control Executive Orders….
