If they’re busy, they don’t have time to mess around! Parents also need to stay actively involved in their child’s life, whether it is school related or not.

If Dr. Le is successful in his bid of Houston City Council, District F, he will aim to ensure that funds for the Houston Police Force are actually used for that purpose. More people are moving to Houston every day, yet the number of officers is decreasing. Why? Because the city is nearly bankrupt! “The squeaky wheel gets the grease,” Steve says. He wants to be that squeaky wheel and get everyone else on board to start making changes in the city.

Title: Part 3 of 3 - Steve Le for Houston City Council, District F
Topic: Candidate Interviews
Discussed by Dr. Steve Le
with Dr. Steve Le (www.SteveLeForHouston.com)

Why would Dr. Steve Le leave his flourishing medical practice to pursue a thankless job on the Houston City Council? He has three children ranging in age from 17-22. He wants to give them the same opportunities he had growing up. “Houston is a great city,” he says. However, over the last 40 years, he has noticed that, not only is the infrastructure deteriorating, but so are the political and social environments.

There are several hot issues at stake during this year’s city election. The number one issue on my radar, as host of the What’s UP Radio Program, is HERO: the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance. HERO would allow confused men who think they are women to use the women’s bathroom, locker room, and changing room (think Macy’s at the mall). What are Dr. Steve Le’s thoughts on this issue? Listen in!

Another issue of great debate is abortion. Life, to Dr. Le, is of the utmost importance. He has dedicated his life to helping others. He holds a religious belief on this issue: life begins at the moment of conception. He also vows to never vote for any law which would give Planned Parenthood any financial assistance.

You can learn more about Dr. Steve Le, his wife, and his vision [here].

Title: Crime in Houston
Topic: Candidate Interviews
Discussed by Bill King
with Bill King (www.BillKingBlog.net)

Today’s interview with Bill King, candidate for Houston’s Mayor, will focus on crime in Houston. Bill King can be found [here].  First, he discusses why Mayor Parker and others are touting the city’s lower crime rates by explaining “clearance rate” in regards to the city’s crimes, including murder, robbery, and rape. HINT: The clearance rate does not look good.

Bill King reveals how the FBI Director was in Houston recently and dubbed our city the “Robbery Capitol of the United States”. Criminals know there’s a slim chance they’ll be caught, so they do it more often! Listen in as Bill King gives more gruesome details concerning the “clearance rates”.

Moral among law enforcement agencies is at an all-time low. Police are afraid to arrest criminals caught in the act for fear they will wind up as the star in a YouTube video, with their home address being broadcast to the nation! Bill King says we need to back-up our law enforcement officers so they can get back to doing their job. Bill also believes throwing more money at the Houston police department is not the answer; we need to boost leadership first.

Title: Voting Straight Ticket Matters - Especially in Judicial Races
Topic: Candidate Interviews
Discussed by Judge Dan Hinde
with Special Guest

If you wait until Election Day, it may raining cats and dogs and you’ll probably skip voting. Your child or spouse could become sick. You might need to work late. You might have an accident. You also can only vote within your precinct that you are registered – not where you currently live. So why not just vote early? It is so much easier!

Judge Hind also encourages voters to vote Straight Ticket Republican. Too many voters only vote for the major statewide races like Governor and US Congress; they might make it down to the State Reps and Comptroller or Railroad Commissioner. They just don’t want to take the time to cast a vote in the judicial races. Voting Straight Ticket Republican ensures that are county courts will be run as ethically and morally as possible.

HOWEVER – When you cast your “R” vote, PLEASE remember to look at the bottom of the ballot for any propositions, school board member races, and other non-partisan races that may be on the ballot. Those are NOT included in the Straight “R” vote.

REMEMBER – The elected officials at the bottom of the ballot have the most impact on your community, your family, and even your kid’s school. So make sure you review and cast a vote for EVERYONE on the ENTIRE ballot!

Voting early is so convenient. Any registered voter can vote anywhere in their county. The lines are shorter. There are a lot more locations to choose from – like closer to work, if that’s better for you. You can even vote early on the weekend!

Listen in as Allie Schmude, age 9, talks about the significance of being involved in politics, why it is important to vote, and especially voter for her dad, John Schmude. And just wait until she starts talking about family court issues like gay couples having preference over straight couples when it comes to who can adopt children in Texas.

Title: CANDIDATE ENDORSEMENTS MADE BY TERRY LOWRY IN THE MARCH 2006 LINK LETTER
Topic: Candidate Interviews

Terry Lowry has endorsed: Elizabeth Ames Jones (she did not buy an advertisement); Steve Smith (he did not buy an ad); Sharon Keller (she did buy an ad - Praise God! Now I can pay some bills. You go print a 48 page gloss magazine and mail to 100,000 people and pay the printing and postage costs!); Terry Keel (he did); Dan Patrick (he did - Are you saying he bought my endorsement? On Feb. 15th, after I went to press, a person with his campaign emailed me asking if I was going to endorse Dan. Even they did not know...I am always accused of selling my endorsement - usually by the candidate I did not endorse. When you see Dan at his victory party on the 7th, ask him how my interview process works!); John Devine (he did - I managed his campaign in 1994 and we have been friends for longer than that! My oldest daughter even baby-sat for his kids years ago!); Joe Crabb (he did not); Barbara Larson (she did not - One of her opponents did, but I did not endorse him); Dorothy Olmos (she did not); Vanessa Velasquez (she did - Her opponent has run for some kind of office since the beginning of time!); Sheri Y. Dean (she did - Annette Galik is her opponent... I received a call from the George W. Bush campaign several years ago with a message straight from "The Man": "Terry, do everything you can to defeat Annette Galik - whenever and however." When GW and I were both in Midland in the oil business in the early '80's, we drilled oil wells together...Also, Sheri helped my oldest daughter obtain full custody of my oldest grandchild several years ago - Praise God!); Michael Schneider (he did - And so did his opponent - Praise God! I can pay some more bills!); Jacqueline Lucci Smith (she did and so did her opponent); Lynn Bradshaw-Hull (she did - Steve Radack would not allow her opponent to advertise); Georgia Akers (she did - And so did her opponent - I can pay even more bills! God is great!); Jack Cato (he did not - And Orlando Sanchez refused to come on air to discuss this race); Oh, and I encouraged you to vote "Yes" on all four ballot initiatives, but no one paid me to!!!

Terry Lowry explains why NOT to vote for Linda Storey. When Terry conducted his first interview with her, she explained why she was running: to make sure government entities in Harris County could take peoples' property in eminent domain cases for less money! When asking her on air why she was running, she needed to be reminded what she had said.

Linda Storey, funded by developers and highway men, is focused on taking over a court that has jurisdiction over eminent domain cases in Harris County. She is 'hell-bent' on making sure property owners are paid less for their property when the government wants or says it needs it.
