The Battle of Iwo
Jima (19 February – 26 March 1945), or Operation Detachment, was a major battle
in which the United States Armed Forces fought for and captured the island of
Iwo Jima from the Japanese Empire. This five-week battle comprised
some of the fiercest and bloodiest fighting of the War in the Pacific of World
War II.

Part 1 of 2
“We can recover as a nation from a horrible President, but we cannot recover from the people who lack information and historical understanding who elect Presidents like Obama – twice!”
declares Representative Riddle. The sad reality is that there are more people not registered to vote than those that are registered. But, what is more shocking, is half of the Christians who are registered to vote simply don’t bother to ever vote! People, come on! It’s time to get with the program!
Debbie Riddle represents District 150 in the unincorporated area of Harris County. Her district is one of the largest in the state, yet does not have a city council or mayor; she is the sole representative on state issues for her constituents. Listen in as shares some personal stories about the calls her office receives daily, talks gun control vs. the Second Amendment, and what she plans to do if reelected.

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Encouragement to Voters
Topic: Encouragement to Voters
Discussed by State Representative Debbie Riddle
with Debbie Riddle www.DebbieRiddle.org
There are numerous ways that average citizens can show their support
of their chosen candidate/elected official:
1. Yard signs – If allowed in your subdivision or apartment
complex, display a yard sign so your neighbors can see who you believe is the
best choice for office.
2. Bumper Stickers – Place a bumper sticker on your car. This
is FREE advertising for a candidate to thousands of people, especially if you
have a long commute to work or school every day.
3. Volunteer – Offer a few hours of your time each week to
answer phones or stuff envelopes at the district office. This will save a
candidate thousands of dollars.
4. Food – Yes, FOOD! If you have the gift of cooking, bring
snacks or dinner to volunteers once a week.
5. Block Walk – Candidates truly appreciate volunteers who are
willing to walk door-to-door, talking with their neighbors about the issues or
simply placing a door-hangar on the front door.

Title: 2015 Texas Constitutional Amendments
Topic: Politics
Discussed by State Representative Debbie Riddle
with Debbie Riddle www.DebbieRiddle.org
Part 1 of 3
Few things are more important at the ballot box than amending ours state’s
founding document. The current slate of Constitutional Amendments requires your
attention. As proud Texans do not come up short in your civic duty to take an
active role in your government. It is up to us to keep our government in check
and on track.
Representative Debbie Riddle (R-District 150) is here today to discuss the seven
Statewide Constitutional Amendments on the ballot. Every registered voter in the
state of Texas has the opportunity – and duty – to vote this November 3. In this
first segment, Debbie discusses how the Texas Constitution differs from the
United States Constitution. “We have a lot more details in there regarding
day-to-day issues,” she says. “Texas is the envy of the forty-nine other states.
The people of Texas have a direct influence on our government.”
Representative Riddle also explains the statewide Proposition 1 (SJR 1) –
Increase Homestead Exemption. Proposition 1 would increase the mandatory
homestead exemption from $15,000 to $25,000. The taxable value of homesteads
owned by the elderly or people who are disabled would also be correspondingly
reduced. Prop 1 would stimulate real economic growth and provide tax relief that
voters have asked for and to those who need it most. Terry Lowry recommends
voting FOR this amendment.

Title: Part 2 of 3 - 2015 Texas Constitutional Amendments
Topic: Politics
Discussed by State Representative Debbie Riddle
with Debbie Riddle www.DebbieRiddle.org
Proposition 2 (HJR 75) - Disabled Veteran Property Relief on
the Texas Statewide Ballot is summarized as follows: Prop 2 would extend the
current homestead property tax exemption that applies to the surviving spouse of
a totally disabled veteran who died on or after January 1, 2010, to include the
surviving spouse of a totally disabled veteran who: died before January 1, 2010.
Debbie believes this amendment is very important for several reasons. She says,
“Our military is what keeps our nation safe. We need to respect those people
and their families who have given so much for us.” Terry Lowry recommends
voting FOR this amendment.
Proposition 3 (SJR 52) - “The constitutional amendment
repealing the requirement that state officers elected by voters statewide reside
in the state capital.” Prop 3 would remove the requirement that the Comptroller
of Public Accounts, Commissioner of the General Land Office, the Attorney
General, and any statutory state officer who is elected statewide reside in the
state capital city of Austin during their terms of office. This requirement made
sense when the Constitution was adopted in 1876 because it could take days to
travel to Austin. The requirement is no longer necessary due to the many
advances in transportation and technology that could allow officials to easily
travel to Austin or to manage their duties while living elsewhere. Terry Lowry
recommends voting FOR this amendment.
Proposition 4 (HJR 73) - “The constitutional amendment
authorizing the Legislature to permit professional sports team charitable
foundations to conduct charitable raffles.” Proposition 4 would authorize the
Legislature to allow a professional sports team charitable foundation to conduct
charitable raffles under the terms and conditions imposed by law, allowing teams
to give back even more to the communities they represent. Prop 4 would not
authorize laws to create new forms of gambling. Debbie believes this amendment
is beneficial to everyone in every community. Listen in as she explains how this
is not about gambling, but rather charity. Terry Lowry recommends voting
FOR this amendment.

Title: Part 3 of 3 - 2015 Texas Constitutional Amendments
Topic: Politics
Discussed by State Representative Debbie Riddle
with Debbie Riddle www.DebbieRiddle.org
Proposition 5 (SJR 17) - “The constitutional amendment to
authorize counties with a population of 7,500 or less to perform private road
construction and maintenance.” Prop 5 would update a provision of the Texas
Constitution set in 1980 governing the maximum population of a county allowed to
construct and maintain private roads. Small counties in Texas have grown since
that time, and the Constitution should be updated to reflect population growth
over the past 25 years. Terry Lowry recommends voting FOR this
amendment.
Proposition 6 (SJR 22) - “The constitutional amendment
recognizing the right of the people to hunt, fish, and harvest wildlife subject
to laws that promote wildlife conservation.” Proposition 6 would establish the
right to hunt, fish, and harvest wildlife under the Texas Bill of Rights,
including by the use of traditional methods. This right would be subject to laws
or regulations to conserve and manage wildlife and preserve the future of
hunting and fishing. Debbie explains Prop 6 in this way: “This is a
no-brainer here in Texas. Hunting and fishing are the preferred method of
managing and controlling wildlife. That’s the bottom line. It’s telling the EPA
to go take a flying leap!” Terry Lowry recommends voting FOR this amendment.
Proposition 7 (SJR 5) - “The constitutional amendment dedicating certain sales
and use tax revenue and motor vehicle sales, use, and rental tax revenue to the
state highway fund to provide funding for non-tolled roads and the reduction of
certain transportation-related debt.” Proposition 7 would provide a steady,
consistent funding source for transportation projects across the state by
dedicating a portion of the sales and use tax to the state highway fund. These
funds could be appropriated only to: construct, maintain, or acquire
rights-of-way for public roadways other than toll roads; or repay the principal
of and interest on certain bonds and other public securities, bond enhancement
agreements, and general obligation bonds. According to Representative Debbie
Riddle, this Constitutional Amendment makes a lot of sense. Listen in as she
explains how it will save taxpayers money and will provide a “steady,
consistent funding source for transportation projects across the state.”
Terry Lowry recommends voting FOR this amendment.

Title: Don't Bust the Spending Cap
Topic: Texas Politics
Discussed by State Representative Debbie Riddle
with Debbie Riddle www.DebbieRiddle.org
In Texas, it is the
state comptroller’s responsibility to establish an amount of money that will be
available to spend.
State Representative Debbie will begin her 7th term this January. She explains
that the Texas Constitution does not allow for statewide deficit spending. This
means that our Texas elected officials cannot over-extend what the State
Comptroller and the Texas Legislative Budget Board allows.
Texas has a fantastic track record for not spending too much money. The majority
of our elected officials do not wish to waste the tax payer’s money of frivolous
expenses. This is why Texas has the 12th largest economy in the world! What a
great accomplishment to brag about! Debbie Riddle is one of the good ones who
has vowed to fight not only for her constituents but for Texas as a whole.
There is always a battle concerning how the money will be dispersed. They budget
is divided into 10 categories, and just two of those categories consume nearly
80% of the entire budget! Listen in as Debbie gives the details!
Debbie also humbly asks for prayers for wisdom for herself and the other members
as they prepare for and commence the upcoming session. She asks that you pray

Topic: Low-Information Voters
Discussed by State Representative Debbie Riddle
with Debbie Riddle www.DebbieRiddle.org
Representative
Debbie Riddle (Houston, District 150) is here today to discuss “low
information voters” and how to right what’s wrong with America.
Debbie always thinks she has seen and heard it all, but then something comes up
and she is shocked once again! Whether she is talking to college kids,
environmental specialists, teachers, or stay-at-home moms, Debbie has heard some
crazy talk and even crazier ideas! How does she respond to people who act like
they know it all, but, in reality, know almost nothing at all?
Debbie brags a little – okay, a lot! – about the awesome, well-educated,
well-informed people in District 150. She says it’s all the “others” who just
don’t have a clue. Debbie says political correctness is the root of the problem.
People need to start thinking for themselves and quit worrying about making
somebody mad.
Listen in as Debbie discusses education, the environment, and other issues
facing Texans today and what we must do to secure our future.

They’ve already said they won’t do anything. “Come to America”, they

Title: What is Really Going on in Iraq?
Topic: Iraq
Discussed by State Representative Debbie Riddle
with Debbie Riddle www.DebbieRiddle.org
Debbie Riddle weeps when she
recalls her experience witnessing the first “free” election in Iraq. She was
surrounded by armored vehicles and armed escorts. She had to wear a hard-hat and
bullet-proof vest.
Despite the threat of violence – even murder – there was a 75% voter turnout in
that first election in Iraq. They were dressed to the nines and brought their
entire families to vote. They were proud at the progress their country had made.
They were over joyed thinking about the future.
Now, flip to America: Half of all Christians in America are not even registered
to vote; and only half of those Christians who are registered actually bother to
vote. We show up in flip slops and cut off shorts; we don’t include our children
– or even our spouses – in the process. There is little or no respect for the
process. It’s just another day. Another election. Big whoop.
The majority of people do not volunteer for a campaign. Even 2 hours a week will
save a candidate hundreds of dollars! Imagine if you and 5 of your friends
volunteered once a week for 2-3 hours, helping stuff envelopes or making phone
calls… You could save that person thousands of dollars!
It only takes one person, but imagine what hundreds or thousands could
accomplish! What will YOU do this November to right what’s wrong in America?
