must be done to avoid such a catastrophe in the future.

All Houstonians must pay a “rain tax” to be used for flood mediation.
How much money has been collected? Where has much of this money been allocated?

Title: Houston Rain Tax: Fact or Fiction?
Topic: Houston Politics
Discussed by Bill King
with Bill King (www.BillKingBlog.net)
In case you missed it, Channel 13 recently ran a story by Ted Oberg
that exposed what a fraud the “Rebuild Houston” initiative has become.
Oberg obtained documents from the City that showed spending on streets and
drainage is down by 7% and 4%, respectively.
How in the world can the City be collecting an enormous amount of additional tax
money each year in drainage fees and be spending less money on the very
improvements that were promised by this program?
Here with the scoop is Houston’s own former Mayor Bill King…
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Is this story fact, fiction, or opinion?
When did the Rain Tax begin?
How much has been collected?
How much has been spent on drainage improvements?
Will this affect property taxes?
What is Proposition A and why should voters cast a NO
vote this November Election?

Title: Money is the Milk of Politics
Topic: Houston Politics
Discussed by Bill King
with Bill King (www.BillKingBlog.net)
Most listeners to The What’s UP Radio Program are aware
that those with special interests before governmental entities
disproportionately make campaign contributions. However, you may be shocked at the degree to which such contributions truly dominate political fundraising.
Listen as Bill King reveals the details in this short segment…

Title: What Exactly is a Sanctuary City?
Topic: Sanctuary Cities
Discussed by Bill King
with Bill King (www.BillKingBlog.net)
Today's world of 24-hour, partisan-slaved cable networks and an
ideologically re-enforcing blogosphere is dominated by catch phrases that
frequently create more obfuscation than illumination. The term "sanctuary
city" is exactly such a catch phrase.
But, what exactly is a “sanctuary city”? Listen as Houston political
activist and former candidate for Mayor Bill King explains…
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What does it really mean to be a "sanctuary city?"
What happens when a person is taken into custody?
When are police officers allowed to ask someone if they are a legal or illegal
citizen?
Bill King recently wrote: “Until Congress acts, expect more SB4s, more
litigation, more hardship for US citizens forced to deal with the problems caused by illegal immigration, more uncertainty for immigrants, and more acrimony over a problem that is 100% self-inflicted by our worthless, do-nothing Congress.”

Title: The Tale of Two Transit Systems
Topic: Houston Transit System
Discussed by Bill King
with Bill King (www.BillKingBlog.net)
Houston Metro is in the process of re-examining its long-term strategy and mission. In considering where Metro goes from here, we should look carefully at the comparison between its experience and that of Dallas' DART system.
Bill King is a Houston political activist and former candidate for Mayor. He
will be discussing pros and cons of both types of transit systems. To sign up
for Bill King’s FREE blog emails, click here.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What is the population of Houston vs Dallas? What is the difference in area covered?
Why hasn’t Houston switched to a rail system?
How much debt has Dallas suffered with their DART system? How does this compare to Houston’s Metro?
Are more or less people utilizing a rail system across America?
What is the cost difference between Metro and DART? Bill discusses the cost to the tax payer and the cost to the rider…
Do busses and rail systems really reduce air pollution and freeway congestion?
Is there a better, cheaper way to transport the disabled and those who cannot afford a vehicle and, therefore, must use a transit system? Listen as Bill offers an interesting suggestion…

Title: Crime in Houston
Topic: Candidate Interviews
Discussed by Bill King
with Bill King (www.BillKingBlog.net)
Today’s interview with Bill King, candidate for Houston’s Mayor, will focus on
crime in Houston. Bill King can be found [here]. First, he discusses why Mayor
Parker and others are touting the city’s lower crime rates by explaining
“clearance rate” in regards to the city’s crimes, including murder, robbery, and
rape. HINT: The clearance rate does not look good.
Bill King reveals how the FBI Director was in Houston recently and dubbed our
city the “Robbery Capitol of the United States”. Criminals know there’s a slim
chance they’ll be caught, so they do it more often! Listen in as Bill King gives
more gruesome details concerning the “clearance rates”.
Moral among law enforcement agencies is at an all-time low. Police are afraid to
arrest criminals caught in the act for fear they will wind up as the star in a
YouTube video, with their home address being broadcast to the nation! Bill King
says we need to back-up our law enforcement officers so they can get back to
doing their job. Bill also believes throwing more money at the Houston police
department is not the answer; we need to boost leadership first.
