Hypothetical situation: An American mother and her child join a group of people walking for miles for a cause. Among the group are gang members and people with known infectious diseases. There is not adequate water, food, or shelter. Would this mother be subject to an investigation for child endangerment and/or abuse?

Another question for YOU: If you think that not helping the caravan is un-American or un-Christian, how many children do YOU sponsor in a third-world country? Friends, it’s basically the same thing. Think about it…

Are members of the caravan carrying other infectious diseases? Dr. Orient points out: “It only takes one person with an infectious disease to infect a while crowd.”

Can public health officials effectively deal with a horde of people violently storming the border?

How many people/families across America have signed up to allow a migrant family be their sole responsibility for the next ten year? Answer: NONE!

Do we need to protect our own families, jobs, and property first? Is this heartless?

In a recently released paper,  Ike Brannon revealed some shocking information about the immigration situation in Texas – both legal and illegal. Ike is a Senior Fellow with the Texas Public Policy Foundation and President of Capital Policy Analytics. In his report, Ike reveals how much of the cost relates to enforcing the current broken border system set in place by the Federal Government. (More on this in the second segment.)

Texas has an outstanding economy. However, it will not continue to flourish if the immigration population continues to increase. Ike explains that the immigration population in Texas does not just include illegal “entrants” from south of the border; we are now seeing an influx of people from other states move to Texas to pursue job opportunities. Listen in as Ike Brannon explains.

There is good news, though! Texas is not a state that freely gives out welfare money and free food and services to just everybody who wants it. We have strict rules! This means that not many new “entrants” are requiring state assistance. Most legal “entrants” are hard-working people who are pursuing a dream, whether from another country or another state, which results in more taxes being paid into local economies.

HHowever, the cost of educating new immigrants from other countries is outrageous and will only increase as more new “entrants” move into our great state. Ike Brannon discovered that it is costing between $700 and $800 Million per year to educate legal and illegal immigrants in the state of Texas. “There are [roughly] 125,000 to 150,000 illegal immigrants enrolled in Texas schools. This is only about three percent of Texas students,” Ike reveals.

In other words, Texas taxpayers are spending nearly $1 BILLION dollars to educate only THREE PERCENT of the students! That is unacceptable! br />

In July the Department of Homeland Security began dismissing deportation cases against illegal aliens. U.S. government attorneys began requesting the dismissals to the shock of defense attorneys and the delight of the illegal aliens.

It comes as no surprise that the Obama administration doesn't want to enforce nearly any of our immigration laws. We have seen this and the two previous administrations routinely ignore border security, immigration laws and employment laws.

One result of the lack of enforcement is that so-called Sanctuary Cities have proliferated as has illegal alien crime and the burden on the infrastructure and the taxpayer. The federal government has basically done nothing to protect citizens from this onslaught. That is why Arizona law SB1070 was passed and also why it is wildly popular throughout the country.

But, beyond the effect that this has on America, its cities and citizens I would like you to consider the effect this latest decision has on the international audience. And, keep in mind, there are approximately 5 billion people on the planet who have it tougher than the poor souls enduring the slaughter in Mexico.  (Continued.....)

Yes, President Obama has to assure his patrons in the business community who want cheap labor and the consumers they become with that first paycheck. And, yes, the President needs to do something to appease his disaffected base. (Not a year into his presidency his amnesty supporting constituency was questioning his commitment to amnesty.) But, this message is really intended for an international audience.

Everyone is serviced by this latest policy by DHS to halt deportations on most illegal aliens. Those desperate billions who are thinking about coming have just been given the best invitation in the world.

The message that Washington is sending to the whole world by halting deportations is that if you can get here, expect to stay here. And that is the biggest pull factor of all.
