Why is it important to continually study God’s Word? Pastor Ed points out that not studying God’s Word is like not reading the instructions on a prescription or even taking the medicine. “It’s not going to do you much good,” he says.

Critics of the Bible are inclined to declare its contents as “fable” in view of the account of Balaam’s talking donkey (Numbers 22). However, this dismissal is a premature conclusion that merits examination.

Dr. Dave Miller, Executive Director of Apologetics Press, disputes this “fable” claim. For over 40 years, Dr. Miller has served in various capacities for churches of Christ, including pulpit preacher, director of a school of preaching, and host of a nationally televised program.

The backstory: A non-Israelite pagan prophet was clearly reluctant to speak the God of Israel directives to Moabite King Balak. So, his donkey rebuked him – audibly. Is this just a fairytale?
