reminds us that not only are we to care for fellow believers, but unbelievers,
too. And YES that includes our enemies!
Are people constantly watching Christians to see how they treat their fellow
humans?
If we mess up even one time, is our witness ruined forever? Will God love us
anyway? Pastor Ed uses John 18 and Peter’s denial as the perfect example of
God’s unconditional love.
Why is prayer so important to a Christian’s walk with God?

Will we all breathe our last breath someday? (Hebrews 9:27)
Can we know for sure where we will go when our heart stops beating? Pastor Ed
encourages us to read 1 John – the whole book, especially the last chapter.
As Christians, must we be prepared to help others answer the question: “Where am
I going when I die?”
Are Christians called to live in such a way that others wonder “why”? (Romans
3:23; Colossians 1:27) Pastor Ed reminds us that we have what others need –
Jesus Christ – using the analogy of a car salesman and closing in a powerful and
encouraging prayer.

Title: Is the New Testament Reliable?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Dr. Benjamin Shaw
with Core Apologetics (www.coreapologetics.com/)
Part 1 of 3
Dr. Benjamin Shaw, PhD, is the President of Core Apologetics.
He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Theology at Liberty University
and is affiliate faculty member of Colorado Christian University.
Today, Dr. Shaw shares how we can, without a shadow of a doubt, know that the New Testament is true and trustworthy.
Click
here to order a copy of Dr. Shaw’s book, “Trustworthy: Thirteen Arguments for the Reliability of the New Testament.”
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Is the New Testament trustworthy?
Surveys show that trust in the Scripture is at an all-time low. When the New Testament cannot be trusted, will its message not be accepted nor its truths applied?
Dr. Shaw shares a little of his testimony and why he attended a Christian University when he wasn’t even a Christian!
Are we able to exam textual evidence to confirm the trustworthiness of the New Testament?
Are there historical references to Jesus outside the Bible? Dr. Shaw briefly explains some of the references, which are outlined in more detail in his book.
Are there sources outside of the Bible confirming the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Dr. Heather Clark
with Institute for Faith and Culture (www.institutefc.org/)
Part 1 of 2
Stressors such as anger, anxiety, dread, hate, and fear have invaded our homes, families, work places, relationships, and community like the frogs that invaded Egypt.
Dr. Heather Clark is a licensed psychologist with a nationwide private practice that focuses on Christian leaders. Dr. Clark is a professional speaker, former seminary professor, and author of "Minister Well: 52 Tools for Ministry Leaders".
Today, Dr. Clark offers hope and encouragement in the midst of chaotic world.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why are more and more people suffering from stressors in their day-to-day life?
Does every Christian have the ability to directly and beneficially impact those around them?
Does God’s Word provide clear instructions for Christians to foster peace?
Dr. Clark references Romans 12:18 “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”
Is the command to live peacefully with others a command for Christians to be pacifists or apathetic?

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Peace Amid Cultural Chaos
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Dr. Heather Clark
with Institute for Faith and Culture (www.institutefc.org/)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Does the news affect our mood and how we view others, causing us stress?
Social media can be a good thing for work connections and keeping up with family
and friends. But can social media also hinder our relationship with God and
others? Dr. Clark has some great advice, encouraging us to establish a “filter”:
Would Jesus like my post/comment?
Why it is important for Christians to stand firm in their faith, never
compromising God’s truth and commandments?
Is it ever too late to learn more about God and commit to studying His Word?
Is screen time hindering our in-person quality time? Dr. Clark says: “We
need to protect our relationships. We are forgetting that people are people.”

Title: Is Edification Important to God?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Part 1 of 3
2 Peter 1:5-8 "For this very reason, make every effort to supplement
your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with
self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with
godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with
love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from
being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Peter 3:18a “But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Today, Pastor Ed offers hope and encouragement as we all do our best to grow and mature in our relationship with the Lord.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What is edification? Is edification simply individual or should it also be corporate, as well? (Proverbs 27:17)
Christians are commanded to mature and grow in the Lord. But, what does that mean? (Romans 15:1)
When we become Christians, do we know everything we need to know about living a Christ-following life?
Pastor Ed reminds us that we begin the Christian life like an infant who needs constant guidance and help.
Should our faith be evident to others? (Romans 12:1-2; Acts 9; Job 5)

‘Sunday Life’.”
Many use the excuse of not being “perfect” when they make a mistake or
sin. Is this a valid excuse or should we own up and take responsibility? Is
imperfection an excuse to keep on sinning?

Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Part 1 of 3
Pastor Ed Ethridge is the new senior pastor at
North Oaks Baptist Church in Northwest Houston. Today, Pastor Ed encourages us to dig deeper into the Word every day as we draw closer and closer to God.
Click here for more about Pastor Ed Ethridge and
Truth for You Ministries.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Did Jesus warn us to not let anyone lead us astray? Pastor Ed recommends reading Psalm 119.
What does Acts 17:11 mean by “examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so”?
What does it mean to be “grounded in the Word”? Do Christ-followers have a responsibility to be grounded in the Word? Pastor Ed says being grounded in the Word is the “anchor of your soul”.
Must we be careful in rejecting Biblical knowledge in exchange for something we want to hear because it sounds good or makes us feel better about ourselves? (2 Timothy 4:3-4; Matthew 7:15; Hosea 4:6)

Title: Part 2 of 3 - Are You Grounded in the Word?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What is the “Sparkle
Creed”? Is it one-hundred-percent contrary to the True Gospel of
Jesus Christ? Are many deceived if they believe in any/all of the statements in
found in the “Sparkle Creed”?
NOTE: Search our ARCHIVES under the name “Tooley, Mark” to hear the full
interview on the “Sparkle Creed” from July 21, 2023.
Should all Christ-followers search the Scripture daily and be grounded in the
Word? (Ephesians 4:1) Pastor Ed says: “Christians need to get off of this
mindset that going to church on Sunday is all they need.”

Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What is the
Apostles’ Creed?
Can the Apostles’ Creed be used to explain the Gospel to an unbeliever?
Should Christians call-out those who claim to be speaking the True Gospel, but
are twisting the words and/or teaching something false?
Is there one God who created the heavens and the earth and all that we see
today?
Is Jesus Christ the only son of God? Do Muslims believe that God had more than
one son? Are Allah and God the same?
Was Jesus really born of a virgin? Did Jesus really die on a cross, resurrecting
after three days?
Will Jesus return one day to judge all?
What is the Holy Spirit? Is the Holy Spirit part of the Trinity?
If a person doesn’t believe in the full Apostles’ Creed, do they need to
reexamine their faith?
The Apostles’ Creed states: “I believe in the Holy Catholic Church”.
What does this mean?

Sometimes we cry out to God for which way to go. While we wait, does God hear our cry? 2 Corinthians 5:7
Why are we to put our faith into action? James 2:18-20
Too often, we tell ourselves “God will work this out” without ever crying out to Him or seeking other help for our problem. Sure, we may pray a little and read our Bible a little. Is it imperative, though, to take positive action? Pastor Ed says: “Faith is active. Faith is not passive.”

In the Galatians verse, what does “slavery” mean? (Hebrews 12:1)
What is wrong with the “if it feels good, do it” mentality that so many in
America have today? Emerson explains why he says: “The freedom in Christ is
actually the freedom to obey.”
Being a Christian is hard. Accepting Jesus doesn’t make our life “perfect”. Is
this why it is important to study our Bible and make life changes? (Romans
13:12-14)

Part 1 of 4
The five people aboard the Titan did not expect to die the day they left for an adventure; three of them paid $250,000 for their experience. Did they have a misplaced sense of security?
Today, Joshua Arnold discusses his recent op-ed in The Washington Stand, “Trusting in Wealth for Security Is Always a Titanic Mistake: 4 Biblical Reflections.” Joshua is the Media Coordination with the
Family Research Council and a staff writer for The Washington Stand.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Is life fleeting and short-lived? Ecclesiastes 7:4 “The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.”
What did King David pray specifically for? Psalm 39:4-6 ““O Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am! Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!”
Can we gain wisdom from realizing we are not invincible? Joshua reminds us that God created us to be frail and fragile human beings so we would rely on Him for our strength.
Is our salvation secure in the Creator of the universe? Joshua reflects on his own need for salvation.

Can riches ramson the holder from death?
Proverbs 13:8 “The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man

Proverbs 11:4 “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness
delivers from death.”
Psalm 62:10 “Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if
riches increase, set not your heart on them.”
What makes a person “wealthy”?
Do too many people place their security in their own wealth or the wealth of our
nation? How can we learn to place our security in the hands of the Creator of
the universe?
Isaiah 12:2 “For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and
lofty, against all that is lifted up – and it shall be brought low.”
Isaiah 12:22: “Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what

evidence journal,
Reason & Revelation.
Dr. Miller has M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomechanical Engineering, with emphasis in thermodynamics and bio-thermal science.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
What is reproducibility? Dr. Miller explains that it is the ability of a different group of researchers to replicate the same study and arrive at the same conclusion.
How can the scientific community know a scientific study can be trusted?
How can we know that a scientist did not fabricate, exaggerate, or bias his or her results in some way so that the study would achieve the desired conclusion?
Have some scientists stopped using reproducibility as a key tool when researching, experimenting, and publishing their work? Dr. Miller explains that, sadly, many have strayed away from this trusted tool and it will be difficult to trust any new research.

Is the empty tomb a core tenet of the Christian faith?
Why is the empty tomb significant in Christianity? Pastor Ed discusses some of the prophesies…
The empty tomb does not save us from our sins. BUT if the empty tomb does not save us, what does?
The empty tomb points to the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Does any other religion have a king or ruler that died and was resurrected back to life?

Once we are saved, must we immediately stop sinning? “Once we come to the Cross and put our faith and trust in the Lord, the flesh still lives, so we’re going to sin,” Pastor Ed says. He goes on to explain what we should do when we do sin.
Paul said: “I do what I shouldn’t and don’t do what I should.” Did he purposely sin?
Do our sins hurt others? Pastor Ed discusses the “ripple effect”.
Should we give up trying to live a sinless life? Scripture Reference: Galatians 2:20
When we sin after we are saved, will we still go to heaven or will we go to hell?

Title: Revival or Falling Away? What Does Scripture Say?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired

Part 1 of 3
Matthew 24:10-14 (ESV) And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Today, Pastor Ed Ethridge discusses Revival and the End Times. Pastor Ed is the new interim Pastor at
North Oaks Baptist Church

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Does Scripture reveal that there will be an end-time worldwide revival? Pastor Ed explains that we have been in the End Times for the last 2,000 years, but there is not a Biblical mandate for a worldwide revival.
Does Scripture reveal that there will be a great falling away? Pastor Ed references Matthew 24:10-14 and discusses the massive decrease in church attendance.
Jesus spoke of a “massive falling away” in the End Times. Why must Christians be guarded against false teachers and the worldly culture? Pastor Ed reminds us that truth matters; be guided by the Truth and the Truth alone.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Although the Bible doesn’t clearly speak of a massive worldwide revival, could
it happen? Pastor Ed prays it does happen!
Why is Pastor Ed shocked or surprised that only 6% of American adults hold a
true Biblical Worldview? (Click
here for the latest research from the Cultural Research Center.)
Is the Body of Christ sitting on the fence in a lukewarm posture? Pastor Ed
discusses two churches: the Church at Sardis and the Church at Laodicea and
explains why he believes many churches are simply going through the motions.
Can we continue to ignore the immoral state of our nation? Pastor Ed reminds us
of God’s anger, wrath, and discipline of evil and immorality.
How can God’s remnant begin to stand strong? (Ephesians 4:14; 1 Corinthians
15:58) Pastor Ed says we need to follow Jesus’ example 24/7/365 – period.

Title: A Post-Christian America
Topic: Christian Apologetics

Part 1 of 3
Psalms 139:23-24 (NLT) “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
Today, Pastor Ed Ethridge discusses a post-Christian America and why we should all examine our own lives first before we judge the sin of others.
Questions for this interview were prompted by the book “Why Revival Tarries” by author and evangelist Leonard Ravenhill.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Must we come to grips with living in a post-Christian America? Pastor Ed says: “NO we shouldn'’t come to grips with it’… God can do something beyond the post-modern era.” Amen!
Are there three persons living inside each of us? The person we think we are. The person other people think we are. The person God knows we are.
Can our words and actions offend God? Pastor Ed responds with this question: “Are we God-lovers or God-haters?” He also reminds us of ways we offend God with our everyday actions and speech.
Are too many more concerned with offending the world than offending God?

Revivals are erupting on college campuses across the nation. This is WONDERFUL
news! Should we ALL look INSIDE first, though, for a revival in our own lives?
TThe blind man asked Jesus for his sight. Should we also pray for sight? What “sight”
should we ask for? Pastor Ed reminds us of Paul’s words in Ephesians 1:18,
saying: “The Church, in general across the country, has forgotten the
reality of lostness – the reality of hell.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Is God angry at other countries? Is God angry with America? Pastor Ed believes
that “God is angry – period… He is angry with His creation… I don’t think
that He looks at China any differently than He does America.”
Do we need more fire from the pulpit or more tears from the pew – or both?
Pastor Ed believes that tears cannot flow from the eyes of people in the pews
unless the men in the pulpits are preaching the whole Gospel truth.
Is there still hope for the Church in America? Pastor Ed references Psalm 119:37
and reminds us that hope in Christ never, ever dies. He also quotes Pastor
Jarrett Stephens: “The forgiven, forgive.” And that’s what it’s all
about.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.
2Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”
What does “vinedresser” mean?
By pruning away the “bad stuff”, can we become more fruitful? Can it sometimes be painful? Pastor Ed says:
“It’s like a tree with dead limbs. It’s wise to cut them away… The same is true for our lives… It is a little bit painful when the Lord speaks to your heart.”
God is a “fruit inspector”. Should we also be concerned with examining fruit – especially in our own lives?
Matthew 7:1“Judge not, that you be not judged.”
Do too many people, including Christians, focus on this Bible verse? Pastor Ed explains that we do not judge them in a judicial sense; we are simply sharing the truth with them. He also warns to be gentle and kind, never harsh or cross.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Galatians 5: 22“But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, 23
gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
24 And those who belong to
Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live by the Spirit,
let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”
As Christ-followers, are we to keep in step with the Holy Spirit?
Is the fruit of the Spirit an outward manifestation of the Holy Spirit living
within us? Pastor Ed reminds us that our actions and attitude matter as we
witness to others about the Gospel.

Title: Part 3 of 3 - Be a Fruit Inspector
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Galatians 5: 19“Now
the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20idolatry,
sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions,
divisions, 21envy,
drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before,
that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Do too many people, including Christians, ignore the dangers of the “works
of the flesh”? Pastor Ed believes that we often ignore these sins or we do
not stress their dangers. He says: “God is in the life-changing business…
There needs to be accountability and the Scripture is clear about what God
expects.”
Why is it important for us to constantly be inspecting the fruit in our own
lives, pruning away the bad? (1 Peter 1:16)
Why did Paul give this warning about the “works of the flesh”? Is it
really that important to avoid them? How can we avoid the temptation?
Why don’t more Pastors preach on this? Are parents afraid to address these
issues with their kids? Pastor Ed explains why he believes it is vital that
these issues are addressed, especially with the younger generation. (Romans
1:16)

Title: Preaching the Whole Truth – and Nothing but the Truth
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Part 1 of 3
While our nation is in a downward spiral, are we roasting stale marshmallows over yesterday’s coals?
Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”
Pastor Ed Ethridge has been a preacher for five decades. Today he shares why he is so passionate about sharing God’s love and truth with others – and why you should be, too.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Romans 10:14 “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?”
Are pastors/preachers called by God – and God only?
Have we arrived at Hosea 4:6? Pastor Ed believes this is a big problem in many churches across America.
Who was God speaking to/about in Hosea 4:6?
Is the church “at ease in Zion”? Pastor Ed explains that too many people in churches are just there to have a good time and to feel good.
What is “Biblical text driven” preaching? Pastor Ed explains what this means, saying: “Expository preaching changes lives. Story-telling does not change lives.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Do people want to hear the truth? Pastor Ed believes that people do want
the truth – but too many pastors/preachers are too worried about filling
the pews. He says: “The truth is the only thing that will save us.”
Antinomianism:
A person who maintains that Christians, by virtue of divine grace, are
freed not only from biblical law and church-prescribed behavioral norms,
but also from all moral law.
Has the devil tricked too many Christ-followers with antinomianism?
How can we know the Truth? What is the Truth? Pastor Ed references John
14:6 and John 8:32.

Why are pastors/preachers called to preach the “whole counsel of God”?
Have many Christ-followers been imprisoned or martyred for preaching God’s
Truth? Pastor Ed reminds us of just a few of them, saying: “In His

circumstances.”

Title: Apologetics is Evangelism
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Dr. Jeff Miller
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
How much do you actually know about God, the Bible, and eternity? Did you know that when you engage in apologetics, you are simultaneously evangelizing by exposing error and/or teaching truth to others.
Dr. Jeff Miller is a science writer with Apologetics Press. He is also the Associate Editor of their monthly Christian evidence journal,
Reason & Revelation. Today, Dr. Miller explains why apologetics is crucial to evangelism.
Click here for the latest from Dr. Jeff Miller.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Do most adults accept the invitation to follow Christ without asking questions?
Are Christ-followers called upon to defend their faith? Is “because the Bible says so” a sufficient answer? Dr. Miller reminds us of 1 Peter 3:15 “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect”.
What does “apologetics” mean? Are we to “apologize” for being a Christian? Dr. Miller explains that is not what it means at all.
How can a personal testimony point others to Jesus? Do you have a 30-second elevator testimony?
Souls are at stake. Is it the responsibility of ALL Christians to share God’s saving grace to everyone they meet? Dr. Miller says: “If there is going to be converts, it’s on our backs to do that work.”

Do we tread in dangerous waters when we reinterpret Scripture to suit our own version of freedom? Pastor Ed says this: “There is absolute truth, regardless of what post-moderns may say.”
Can we use our own knowledge to define “true freedom”?
When we accept Jesus Christ as our LORD and Savior, are we freed from the penalty of sin? (Romans 8:1)
Is it a constant battle to be freed from self, even for Christians? (Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Peter 5:8)

Title: What Does it Mean to be Saved?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Pastor Ed Ethridge discusses two often-debated theological topics: Once saved, always saved and sinning after we are saved.
Click here for more information about Pastor Ed’s ministry.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Must we be sinless before we can be saved?
Scripture Reference: 1 John 1:9
What does it mean to be saved – to be born again? Scripture Reference: John 3

Title: Is It God’s Fault?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Part 1 of 3
Many listening to the What’s UP Radio Program are
Christians. What do you really know about the Scriptures, though? What is Biblical Truth? What is the world’s truth? What is the difference? And more importantly: Is the lack of knowledge on our part God’s fault?
Pastor Ed Ethridge has been in pastoral ministry for decades. Today he discusses some hard truths that may be tough to swallow.
Click here for more from Pastor Ed and
Truth for You Ministries.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
In what ways has God revealed the Truth to us? Why would God want us to know the Truth?
When I stand before the judgment seat of God, without Christ, will I have any excuse?
Romans 1
Are all faiths of equal value? Is this idea unbiblical?
Is this God’s fault that so many American adults do not believe in Jesus Christ?
Genesis 1:26-27 Pastor Ed makes a great point: “You can deny it all you want, but there is far greater evidence to validate the life of Jesus Christ than Napoleon Bonaparte, but I have never met anyone who didn’t believe in Napoleon Bonaparte.”

Title: Part 2 of 3 - Is It God’s Fault?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge – Retired
with Truth for You Ministries (www.truthforyou.net/)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Does absolute moral truth exist? More than half of all Americans do not believe
in absolute moral truth. Is this God’s fault? Psalm 14:1 is just one example of
many that there is, in fact, absolute moral truth…
This time last year, America was burning. Nearly half of millennials believe
that rioting, looting, and stealing is acceptable. According to Scripture, is
this behavior a sin?
Are people born into sin? Do many people believe that we are NOT born into sin?
Is this God’s fault? Psalm 51:5
Is sex outside of marriage, defined as between one man and one woman, morally
wrong in the eyes of God? Is it God’s fault that so few believe this to be a
sin? 1 Corinthians 6:20

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Do many believe they are basically “good people”? Why is this a wrong
mindset? Do many Christians even believe this is true? Is it God’s fault that so
many believe this?
Do many pastors fail to teach the hard truths in the pulpit?
Is weeping at the altar a thing of the past? Pastor Ed admits that he hopes
people do NOT “enjoy” his sermons! Why would he say that?

Part 1 of 3
Around 140 AD, many of the early church leaders developed a standard statement to express one’s confession of faith at the time of baptism. It’s not Scripture, but a simple list of the great doctrines of the Christian faith.
Pastor Ed Ethridge (Retired) guides us through the Apostle’s Creed today, offering encouragement for sharing our faith with others. Click

Title: Situational Ethics: Hidden Meanings Buried in the Bible
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Dr. Dave Miller
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
Why did Lot offer his daughters to the Sodomites? This is one story in the Bible that many people, especially Christian, have a difficult time understanding.
Today, Dr. Dave Miller discusses this story and the events before and after. Dr. Miller is the Executive Director of
Apologetics Press. His book, “Hidden Meaning Buried in the Bible”, will be released soon.
More information can be found
here.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Background: How was Lot related to Abraham? Why did Lot choose to settle in the City of Sodom? Was the city engulfed in sin before Lot even arrived?
The narrative in Genesis 19 has Lot sitting at the gate. Is there significance of Lot sitting at the entrance gate?
Two visitors came to Sodom and entered at this gate. Were they angels? Why were they going to sleep on the street? Did Lot invite them to his home?
Did the Sodomites go to Lot’s home demanding the visitors? Why did Lot offer his daughters instead? Was Lot bound by customs of the time to protect his guests?
What can we all learn from this story? It is imperative that God’s people practice hospitality? Do we often forget this?
Does God sanction situational ethics (like this story of Lot and his daughters)?

Title: Where Did God Come From?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Eric Lyons
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
Scientist and atheist Stephen Hawking is well-known for his ideas
about evolution. Before he passed away in 2018, he was very
outspoken on this issue. Neil deGrasse Tyson, an American astrophysicist and
author, has opined that humans on earth may be the creation of aliens!
Say what?!?
Eric Lyons has been with the Bible Department with Apologetics Press
since 2001. Today he discusses some of these outlandish ideas and offers a
sensible, Biblical response…
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Where did God come from? Was there a beginning and will there be an ending?
What triggered the Big Bang? Where did the matter come from?
DDo some of the world’s most popular scientists and atheists claim that “nothing
made matter” ? How is this possible?
Can matter and energy create itself?br />
IIs matter eternal? Does matter have a beginning and an ending? FACT:
Matter is actually less now! Listen as Eric explains…

Title: Were There Dinosaurs in the Bible?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Dr. Jeff Miller
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
Job 40 describes a mighty creature that was just as real as Job.
It was not a non-existent, figurative animal. The biblical description of Behemoth does not match the hippo or elephant. So, what was it?
Dr. Jeff Miller has the answer! Dr. Miller is a full-time science writer at
Apologetics Press. He is the Associate Editor of AP’s monthly Christian evidences journal,
Reason & Revelation.
Click

Questions/Issues Discussed:
What mighty creature did Job describe?
Prior to the 1800’s, were many bible scholars mystified? Was this before many of the dinosaurs had been discovered?
Does the description of the Behemoth match that of a hippopotamus or an elephant?
Was the tail of the Behemoth described as? Why is this so significant?
Scientists have studied the weight distribution of elephants, hippopotamuses, and dinosaurs. Is the Behemoth comparable to those animals or any creature we have in existence today?
What evidence is available? Can it be disputed?
On day six of Creation, could God have created dinosaurs and man?

Title: Are Parents Brainwashing Their Kids?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Eric Lyons
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
Eric Lyons is with the Bible department of Apologetics Press. He is the author
more than a dozen books on various issues. Eric recently wrote an op-ed
“Are
Christians Guilty of Brainwashing Their Kids?”
He writes this: “The more worldly and ungodly American society becomes, the more
devout Christians will be criticized and persecuted for their beliefs and
actions. One popular criticism that has been leveled against Christians in
recent years involves the Christian home. Allegedly, Christian parents are
guilty of brainwashing their kids.”
Questions/Issues Discussed:
How important is it for parents to continue with Bible study at home (alone and
as a family)? Should they be attending online church as a family during the
Coronavirus quarantine? Why should they return to the church building as soon as
they deem it is safe for their family?
Is it right to teach our children God’s truths?
Why do some believe it is “brainwashing” to teach our children fundamental
Christian truths without apology? Eric says this: “If they want to call it
brainwashing, they can. We’re gonna keep doing it because it’s the right thing
to do.”
Did God instruct Moses on how to teach their children about the God who made the
universe?
Is teaching Christianity cultish?
Is anything more important than to teach our children fundamental Biblical
truths?

Is anything more important than to teach our children fundamental Biblical
truths?

Title: All Clocks have a Clockmaker
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Kyle Butt
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
Who is right – science or God? Or both?
Kyle Butt, editor of the Apologetics Press children’s series “Discovery”,
has some answers for us today. Kyle has also written and/or co-authored
twenty-eight books and has served at the AP for sixteen years.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
What conclusion can be made from examining a well-designed clock?
Has cutting-edge biological research discovered built-in clocks that are housed
in the cells of the human body?
What does “apologetics” mean? Kyle Butt references 1 Peter 3:15…
Hebrews 3:4 “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all
things is God.” How do we know this is true? How does this apply to us as
Christians?
Is it illogical to think/believe humans do not have a Maker – a Designer?

Title: America’s Lost Invisibility
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Dr. Dave Miller
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
The incredible level of prosperity and technological achievement has lulled many Americans into thinking that America is invincible and well able to sustain its standing among the nations of the world.
Dr. Dave Miller, Executive Director of Apologetics Press, writes: “The Founders thought otherwise. They insisted that America’s greatness does not lie in her achievements, material progress, or ability to protect herself by military means.” More can be found in his article, “America’s Lost Invincibility”.
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
How does America resemble Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?
Why is America so different compared to 150 years ago?
What are the main issues that have taken America’s focus off of God?
Did the Founders warn of the consequences of falling away from serving the God who made the universe? Should their warning be a sound, sober warning to Americans in the 21st century?
Remember: II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Part 1 of 3
Pastor Ed Ethridge discusses various spiritual matters today. Pastor Ed is the Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care at
Champion Forest Baptist Church. He has served in ministry for over four decades.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Is America in trouble spiritually?
Is the family in trouble spiritually?
Does God call on us? Or do we call on God?
Is going to church “enough” to help us grow in our faith?
How can we “grow in grace”? Pastor Ed references 2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.”

Title: Where Did God Come From?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Eric Lyons
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
Scientist and atheist Stephen Hawking is well-known for his ideas
about evolution. Before he passed away in 2018, he was very
outspoken on this issue. Neil deGrasse Tyson, an American astrophysicist and
author, has opined that humans on earth may be the creation of aliens!
Say what?!?
Eric Lyons has been with the Bible Department with Apologetics Press
since 2001. Today he discusses some of these outlandish ideas and offers a
sensible, Biblical response…
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Where did God come from? Was there a beginning and will there be an ending?
What triggered the Big Bang? Where did the matter come from?
DDo some of the world’s most popular scientists and atheists claim that “nothing
made matter” ? How is this possible?
Can matter and energy create itself?br />
IIs matter eternal? Does matter have a beginning and an ending? FACT:
Matter is actually less now! Listen as Eric explains…
Do logic, reason, science, and the Bible all point to a Creator God of the
universe? br />
WWhat are the three “possible” explanations for the universe?
Why is God called the “Eternal God”?

Questions/Issues Discussed:
The Apostles Creed:
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, nd in Jesus
Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the
Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He
descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into
heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence he
shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the
Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the Forgiveness of sins, the
Resurrection of the body, and the Life everlasting. Amen.

Title: Is the Bible a Book of Fables?
Topic: Christian Apologetics
Discussed by Dr. Dave Miller
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)
Part 1 of 2
Critics of the Bible are inclined to declare its contents as “fable”
in view of the account of Balaam’s talking donkey (Numbers 22). However, this dismissal is a premature conclusion that merits examination.
Dr. Dave Miller, Executive Director of Apologetics Press, disputes this “fable” claim. For over 40 years, Dr. Miller has served in various capacities for churches of Christ, including pulpit preacher, director of a school of preaching, and host of a nationally televised program.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
The backstory: A non-Israelite pagan prophet was clearly reluctant to speak the God of Israel directives to Moabite King Balak. So, his donkey rebuked him – audibly. Is this just a fairytale?
Was Balaam’s donkey an imaginary creature that possessed human capabilities?
How can we teach our children the difference between a “real” talking donkey and cartoons and storybook fables?
Have the people, places, and events recorded in Scripture been proven to be a matter of history – not fiction – firmly distinguishing its contents from make-believe fables?

Or do we accept his existence blindly? How can you share the truth with others?
Eric Lyons offers historical facts to help you prove that Jesus was a real person.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Are there many in the world today who actually think Jesus is nothing more than a fantasy figure?
Who said: “Whether considered as the God made human, or as manmade divine, this character [Jesus] never existed as a person”?

Part 1 of 2
Do you believe in Jesus? Do you “really” really believe? Do you believe in the miracles recorded in the Bible? Can you defend your faith?
Eric Lyons is with the Apologetic Press. Today, he offers evidence that the miracles in the Bible are as real as God Himself.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why did Eric Lyons write a piece entitled “You People Are Crazy”?
Did a donkey really talk? Did an iron ax-head really float during the days of Elisha? Did Job’s wife really turn into a pillar of salt?
Did water really flow freely from a rock? Eric says this: “If atheists can believe that intelligence came from a rock, it’s not a stretch to believe that an all-powerful God can make water flow from one!”
Was a man’s ear really cut off and replaced without a scar? Was Lazarus really dead and did Jesus really bring him back to life? Did even his enemies believe? Did the Asbestos Brothers really survive the fire? Is the story of Jonah real?
Why is the Bible believable? Tune in to the next segment for more on this and the existence of God…

Today’s guest, Rodney Stark, is a distinguished Social Sciences Professor at Baylor University and a Pulitzer Prize winner. He has written over 150 articles and 31 books. Professor Stark believes religion benefits everyone - even atheists - and can help entire countries when studied and practiced the proper way. Is there any hope for America?

According to recent surveys by Barna, most Christians who do not regularly attend church say they don’t go because of other Christians! They find other Christians have a “holier-than-thou” attitude or they talk but don’t listen.
In fact, the survey found that nearly four in ten (37 percent) of un-churched Americans avoid attending church because of painful past experiences with the church or people in the church. Christians are supposed to be the “good people”. What has happened to our nation when people who want to attend church don’t because of its people? What can we do to get back on track and help those who need Him the most?
