Title: Are Christ-Followers Truly Free to Believe?
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Arielle Del Turco
with Family Research Council (www.FRC.org)
Arielle Del Turco is the Director of the Family Research Council’s
Center for Religious Freedom department. Today, Arielle discusses the
FRC’s latest report "Free to Believe? The Intensifying Intolerance Toward
Christians in the West”.
Click here to read the full report regarding this important issue from the
Center for Religious Liberty.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Is hostility toward Bible-believing Christians clearly and steadily rising in the West? Arielle describes the hostility and what religious freedom should really look like.
Should Western governments be the standard bearers for upholding freedom of religion and expression?
What is the worst case of hostility outlined in the FRC report? Arielle reveals an outrageous law in the United Kingdom that prohibits people from praying SILENTLY outside an abortion clinic!
Does the report serve as a warning about how basic freedoms can erode even in Western Democracies?

Title: Ukrainian Refugees Being Punished for Pro-Life and Pro-Family Laws in Hungary and Poland
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Stefano Gennarini
with Center for Family and Human Rights (www.C-Fam.org)
Stefano Gennarini is the Vice President for Legal Studies at the
Center for Family and Human Rights (C-Fam). Today he discusses how and why the European
Commission is punishing Ukrainian Refugees fleeing to Hungary and Poland.
Click
here to read Stefano’s report on this topic.
Click here for more from Stefano Gennarini.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
How many Ukrainians have fled to Poland and Hungary for refuge?
Both Hungary and Poland are sovereign nations, with their own laws pertaining to
abortion, homosexual, and transgender issues. Is this why the European
Commission is punishing them? Stefano explains that the oppression began when
the EC withheld billions and billions of COVID relief funds from both countries
– even before the invasion from Russia into Ukraine.
Is the EC essentially telling Poland and Hungary they cannot have their own laws
regarding these issues and they must adopt the EC’s rules and regulations “or
else”?
Will the EC come to the aid of Hungary and Poland with funds to help Ukrainian
refugees that have fled within their borders? Stefano doesn’t believe the EC
will release the $45 BILLION in COVID relief, but they will help to an extent.
He does believe, however, that the EC will try to coerce an agreement regarding
the country’s strict pro-life and pro-family laws.
Will the US come to the rescue?

Title: Freedom for Faith-Based Foster/Adoption Facilities
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Herbie Newell
with LifeLine Children’s Services (www.lifelinechild.org/)
The US Supreme Court recently unanimously voted in favor of
religious freedom for faith-based child placement agencies. This
is a HUGE win for the pro-life/pro-family movement in America!
New guest Herbie Newell is the President and Executive Director of LifeLine
Children’s Services. Click here for more about their
organization.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
As a Christ-centered organization, does LifeLine Children’s Services attempt to
place children in Christian homes?
Why is the recent unanimous ruling by the US Supreme Court so important to
faith-based foster and adoption organizations? Herbie says this: “They are the
unsung heroes in the background. This decision gives the ability for
organizations like ours to equip those believers – those churches – to continue
to do the good work that they are doing.”
Is this ruling about including rights, not excluding rights? Herbie has a great
explanation for this…

Title: Religious Freedom Hangs in the Balance
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Justin Danhof
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)
Some corporations are being used as front groups by left-wing
anti-religion coalitions. But, are they simple pawns or willing accomplices?
Justin Danhof is the Director of the Free Enterprise Project with the
National Center for Public Policy Research. He recently asked Home
Depot point blank if they oppose religious freedom because they belong to
the Georgia Prospers, a corporate coalition that lobbied extensively - and
dishonestly - against Georgia's religious freedom bill titled "The Free
Exercise Protection Act”.
When it comes to political involvement, most corporations – big and small – tend
to lean toward the left. Justin believes there are several very good reasons for
this: First, the left is very in-your-face concerning the social issues. Second,
there is a massive amount of hypocrisy in the media, as we all know.
Listen in as Justin discusses more about corporation’s involvement in political
matters and why it absolutely matters for all Americans. “Over the last year
and a half, it’s become very clear that this is where the left is taking the next major fight in this country,” he says. “But, when you poll the public, they are with the ‘common-sense movement’.”

Title: Obama is Going After Sweet Little Old Nuns Now
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Professor John Sparks
with Grove City College (www.gcc.edu)
The Obama administration just can’t leave the little guys alone – or
in this case, the sweet little ladies. The nuns within a Catholic
Religious Order, The Little Sisters of the Poor, are being bullied by Obama’s
Affordable Care Act minions at the Department of Health and Human Services. The
women do not wish to provide or be forced to pay for contraceptives through
Obamacare. (Why the women would even need the service in the first place is
apparently lost within HHS’s tiny little walnut sized brains.)
Side Note: The Little Sisters of the Poor is not some dinky little group
of women who don’t know what they’re doing. The Sisters have been in existence
since 1839, are spread across thirty countries, and are in thirty states in the
US.
Dr. John Sparks explains the situation in further detail. It goes far beyond
just a simple pill or condom. It’s about their religious right and the
government taking away that right. “The government is highly secularized and
they do not recognize that others adhere to their convictions,” Dr. Sparks
believes. The Sisters have been fighting this battle since 2013 and will finally
go before the United States Supreme Court in March.
If the government can offer exemptions to other religious groups, churches, and
even small employers, why can’t they offer exemptions to The Sisters? Listen in
as Dr. Sparks discusses the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the
compelling reason why The Sisters should not even be in this predicament!

Title: Take Your Bible to School Day
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Eric Buehrer
with Gateways to Better Education www.GoGateways.org
When it comes to your child’s education – public, private, or home – you only want the best, right? And we all hope that our child will be strong in their faith while at that school. One way your child can witness to others is by participating in the national “Bring Your Bible to School Day” on Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Eric Buehrer, with Gateways to Better Education, tells people: "If I opened a bank account in your name and put $1 million in it, but I never told you it existed, it wouldn't do you any good.” That’s why
Gateways to Better Education has a similar campaign called “Free to Speak”, where they educate students on their religious liberties at school.
“This is about free speech and free association. You can speak to whoever you want to, including your maker, about anything you want to, including your faith,” Eric says. He loves “Bring Your Bible to School Day” for this very reason. Listen in as he explains that students are not agents of the state; therefore, they can talk about their faith and read whatever they want to (during non-instructional time).
NOTE: Please review all the rules and regulations [here] before sending your child to school with their Bible.

Title: Take Your Bible to School Day: October 8, 2015
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Candi Cushman
with Bring Your Bible Day (www.BringYourBible.org)
If you missed the announcement last week, this Thursday, October 8,
2015, is “Bring Your Bible to School Day!” Many people, including Christians, are under
the impression that students are not allowed to bring their Bible or other
Christian material to school. This is FALSE! That is why Candi Cushman and
others began “Bring Your Bible to School Day” last year and are hoping for an
even better display of God’s love this time around!
Fun Fact: Christian rock group, The Newsboys, is now on board with the movement!
They even have a new song concerning school and religious issues called
“Guilty”.
But but but…. What about separation of church and state?!? Well, when it comes
to religion, “The truth is, that our Founding Fathers did not want government
endorsing or being hostile,” Candi points out. They never said a Christian could
not talk about God in school. Does your child know their rights, though? Do you?
Bring Your Bible has great tips and advice for
parents, students, and even school officials for “Bring Your Bible to School
Day”. You can print out information regarding the rules and regulations there,
as well. Remember to always be respectful and follow the rules. She also
encourages students to engage in conversation with others about why they have
their Bible at school. “This is about conversation, not confrontation,” Candi
says.

Title: Take Your Bible to School Day
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Candi Cushman
with Bring Your Bible Day (www.BringYourBible.org)
Students are encouraged to “Bring it. Share it. Live it.”
on October 8, 2015. Bring and share what? Live what? Their Bible! Candi Cushman is an Educational
Analyst with Focus on the Family, spear heading their project “True Tolerance”.
They kicked off their “Bring it. Share it. Live it.” campaign last October and
had an overwhelmingly positive response.
We need to encourage our children to be bold in their faith and not shy away
from it just because it might be a little uncomfortable. If your child is in
elementary school, he can share a story about his Bible during share time. It’s
allowed! If you have a teen in junior or high school, make sure she knows the
rules about when and where she can bring her Bible into the open and read and
share it with others. It’s allowed, too! Candi point out, however, “Sometimes
the only God people will see is you, so it’s important to do this in a loving
and respectful manner.”
To learn more about “Bring it. Share it. Live it.” click [here]. All the rules and regulations regarding the campaign can
be downloaded there. You can also find tips to help students respond when
challenged by an adult who doesn’t think they should have their Bible visible.
Or how to respond to another student who says the Bible is false.

Title: County Clerks Have a Decision to Make
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Peter Sprigg
with Family Research Council (www.FRC.org)
As of the time of this interview, County Clerks in Texas and their employees
can choose not to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, as long as there
is one employee in the office who is willing to do so. Justice of the Peace
Judges can choose not to perform same-sex marriages, but if they make that
decision, they must stop doing all marriages.
Peter Sprigg, with the Family Research Council,
gives a minister’s opinion on the same-sex marriage issue. County clerks and
JP’s duties are different than a minister or pastor’s duties. But the baker,
florist, photographer, and wedding chapel owner thought their rights were
protected. Will the same thing happen to ministers and pastors?
Now that the homosexual mafia has won this small battle, what will happen next?
Peter Sprigg believes the other side will become even more aggressive. This is
not about homosexual marriage or even equal rights; it’s about silencing
Christians. Period. We must fight back. Click here for more on this
and other issues affecting our religious freedom.

Title: Religious Liberty Arguments Aren't Working
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse
with The Ruth Institute (www.RuthInstitute.org)
Since 2008, Dr.
Jennifer Roback Morse has been helping families through her organization,
The Ruth Institute. She believes that Christians need to stop
using “religious reasons” to oppose same-sex marriage. It’s not
working. Too many people, especially homosexuals, do not affiliate with any
religion. They may be “spiritual”, but they are no longer “religious”.
“Everything is so in-your-face that it is difficult to live out a
Christ-like life,” Dr. Morse says. They don’t care if we are inconvenienced
in our religious practices. In fact, some actively want to destroy the Christian
religious. Listen in as Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse explains her thoughts on this.
Jennifer says we need to quit whining. No one likes a whiner. We need to stop
crying about the issue and do something about it. Millions of people are being
harmed by the sexual revolution. Children. Women. Men. Entire families. That is
what we need to focus on: It hurts people. How does Dr. Morse believe we can
accomplish this? Listen in!

Title: Orthodox Jews Counter-Suit in Dallas
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Justin Butterfield
with Liberty Institute www.LibertyInstitute.org
It’s okay to have a
Super Bowl Party at your house and invite your Sunday School Class.
It’s okay to have a bunch of friends over to watch the Big Fight on HBO. It’s
okay to have a birthday for your kid in your backyard. Cars litter the street.
It’s loud and crazy. The BBQ pit hot and ready for burgers and hot dogs. Kids
are everywhere. Cars going back and forth.
But heaven forbid you hold a Bible Study or small group in your house! Justin
Butterfield, with the Liberty Institute, is back to give an update on
the lawsuit against a small Orthodox Jewish community. There are no cars for
these 15-20 people because they aren’t allowed to drive on the Sabbath. So,
that’s not the issue. They are praying and worshipping privately inside the
home, not gathering outside blaring music, playing loud instruments, or singing.
So, that’s not the issue. So…what’s the beef?
The neighbor who complained became HOA President, sued the Orthodox Jewish
church (against the vote of the homeowners in the subdivision), and LOST.
Now the City of Dallas is involved and suing the church! The demands they are
placing on the less than two dozen people are OUTRAGEOUS!
Listen in as Justin explains what is happening and why it puts ALL
religions in danger.

Title: The True Facts about Religious Freedom Laws
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Sarah Torre
with The Heritage Foundation (www.Heritage.org)
When will it end? Will it ever
stop? The fight against religious freedom in this country is just out of
control. The MSM jumps at every chance to side with the Gay Mafia, bashing
Christians and labeling them as homophobic bigots.
Sara Torre, with The Heritage Foundation, discusses how the recent Indiana law
protects the citizens – all citizens – from violating their Constitutional
rights under the 1st Amendment. Sara says that states passing laws like this “is
a very common sense way to balance the fundamental right to religious liberty
with compelling government interest.” Bill Clinton signed the Religious Freedom
Restoration Act 20 years ago. Why has the Gay Mafia just recently become so
outraged over the issue?
It all boils down to “artistic expression”. Listen in as Sara explains the
difference between simply selling an already-baked good or pre-made flower
arrangement to someone, compared to making a customized cake or bouquet.

Title: Jews being Sued by the City of Dallas
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Justin Butterfield
with Liberty Institute www.LibertyInstitute.org
The last time Justin
Butterfield was with us, he discussed how an individual (acting without the
approval of his Homeowners Association) sued his neighbor, an Orthodox Jew, who
was holding religious meetings in his private home. To hear that
interview, click [here].
Since this neighbor was unsuccessful in his endeavor, the City of Dallas has
chimed in with their own lawsuit. What makes the matter even worse, Dallas filed
the lawsuit on the eve of Netanyahu’s speech before Congress on Tuesday, March
3, 2015.
Justin Butterfield, an attorney with the Liberty Institute, says, “The
list of demands the City is making is just ridiculous.” One demand is
thirteen extra parking spaces around the home. These are Jews – meeting together
on the Sabbath. They aren’t allowed to drive! Why do they need parking spaces?
Just ludicrous.
Listen in as Justin explains more details in the suit by the City of Dallas
against this small Orthodox Jewish congregation. If you think this doesn’t apply
to you because you are Baptist or Catholic or Methodist or whatever – think
again! They can come after anyone!
You can find Justin and the Liberty Institute [here].

Title: City health official placed on leave for religious beliefs
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Terry Lowry
with Host of the What's UP Radio Program
Terry Lowry, Host of the “What's
Up Program” discusses an article from the Los Angeles Times. The article
describes the actions of Pasadena, California city officials when they placed
Public Health Director Eric Walsh on paid administrative leave. They did this
when it was brought to their attention that he was an associate pastor preaching
biblical truth about homosexuality and evolution.
Homosexual activists contacted city leaders and these leaders removed Director
Walsh from office. They are now monitoring and analyzing Pastor Walsh's online
sermons as part of their witch hunt. It seems that these activists demand
tolerance for their lifestyle. However, tolerance is not enough for them. They
demand that it be accepted and promoted as the preferred lifestyle.
That happened in California. Recently in Houston, TX an ordinance was passed
to allow either gender to select and use the restrooms of the opposite gender in public buildings. Individuals would do so just because they feel like the opposite gender that day.
