Title: Teaching Kid How to Perform LGBTQ Sex Acts
Topic: Sex Education
Discussed by Candi Cushman
with Bring Your Bible Day (www.BringYourBible.org)

Candi Cushman is the founder and facilitator for Focus on the Family’s annual student-led “Bring Your Bible to School Day”. Today Candi will be discussing a different topic: X rated sex education being taught to YOUR child in public school.

Disclaimer: Use caution when listening to this segment around young children. Issues discussed might be upsetting or hard for little ones to understand.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Around the nation, what sinful, corrupting indoctrination are children being exposed to?

Listen as Candi explains what the law requires public schools to teach – and NOT to teach. She also stresses that it is difficult for parents to know in advance what is being taught because these rules and regulations change frequently…

Is sexual orientation and exploration taught as a “normal part of human development”?

Is the LGBTQ lifestyle taught as normal, while heterosexuality is barely mentioned?

Could an adult pass out the same sex education literature at a public playground without criminal or civil repercussions?

Click here for more information on this alarming issue.

Title: Bring Your Bible to School Day: Thursday, October 4
Topic: Bring Your Bible to School Day
Discussed by Candi Cushman
with Bring Your Bible Day (www.BringYourBible.org)

In a world where Christians are targeted for their beliefs, this is a crucial time to teach our children how to be brave about their faith.  Our public schools are full of broken and hurting kids who need to hear about Jesus, and Bring Your Bible to school day is a great opportunity for them to hear about Him through their classmates.

Candi Cushman is the founder and facilitator for Focus on the Family’s annual student-led “Bring Your Bible to School Day”, which empowers kids to bring their faith to school in a respectful way. Last year at least 500,000 students participated in Bring your Bible to School Day.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

October 4 is “Bring Your Bible to School Day”. How has the event grown over the last few years? Stay tuned to the end of the interview as Candi shares some encouraging information on lives that have been impacted for eternity by this event…

What can students do to spread awareness about the event at their school?

Is it legal for kids to bring a Bible to school?

What should kids do if they are told they are not allowed to bring their Bible to school? NOTE: Click here  for a quick link your students can show teachers or school staff if they are challenged…

Why should we ensure kids stand boldly for Christ now, before they leave our house?

Use the link above to sign your student up for this event, which includes a chance to win a trip for 4 to meet Sadie Robertson (part of the Duck Dynasty crew).

Title: Kids and Gender Confusion
Topic: Homosexual Agenda
Discussed by Candi Cushman
with Bring Your Bible Day (www.BringYourBible.org)

It’s back to school time. That may be a scary thought for you because you worry what your child might learn in school that is against your Biblical values and beliefs, whether from another student or their teacher.

Candi Cushman is the Education Analyst with Focus on the Family. Today she will be discussing how to navigate these confusing messages your children may receive in the classroom.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Should parents pick their battles when it comes to their child’s education?

Is the homosexual agenda issue a battle worth fighting? Listen as Candi Cushman suggests some conversation-starting questions parents should have now with their children, before they learn something different at school.

Are public schools across the country really using coloring pages to indoctrinate children as young as five concerning homosexuality and transgenderism?

Are parents often told they are the only parent complaining about a certain topic? Candi advices parents to invite other like-minded parents (not a spouse) to the meeting.

Is it necessary to teach our children of all ages what to do if they encounter a person of the opposite in a public restroom, whether at school or elsewhere?

Title: Report on “Bring Your Bible to School Day”
Topic: Bring Your Bible to School Day
Discussed by Candi Cushman
with Bring Your Bible Day (www.BringYourBible.org)

October 6, 2016 was “Bring Your Bible to School Day”. How did it go?

Listen in as Candi Cushman gives some statistics from the past three years and shares some stories and testimonies from this year.

One story is about a little girl, Curly, who’s teacher took her Bible away! The teacher gave it back, to only have the little girl ask her if she would like to have her Bible. The Teacher said….well listen in for the rest of the story.

Another is about a high school student who gave a Bible to a devil-worshipper and atheist.

Amazing stories of faith among our students!

Title: Take Your Bible to School Day: October 8, 2015
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Candi Cushman
with Bring Your Bible Day (www.BringYourBible.org)

If you missed the announcement last week, this Thursday, October 8, 2015, is “Bring Your Bible to School Day! Many people, including Christians, are under the impression that students are not allowed to bring their Bible or other Christian material to school. This is FALSE! That is why Candi Cushman and others began “Bring Your Bible to School Day” last year and are hoping for an even better display of God’s love this time around!

Fun Fact: Christian rock group, The Newsboys, is now on board with the movement! They even have a new song concerning school and religious issues called “Guilty”.

But but but…. What about separation of church and state?!? Well, when it comes to religion, “The truth is, that our Founding Fathers did not want government endorsing or being hostile,” Candi points out. They never said a Christian could not talk about God in school. Does your child know their rights, though? Do you?

Bring Your Bible has great tips and advice for parents, students, and even school officials for “Bring Your Bible to School Day”. You can print out information regarding the rules and regulations there, as well. Remember to always be respectful and follow the rules. She also encourages students to engage in conversation with others about why they have their Bible at school. “This is about conversation, not confrontation,” Candi says.

Title: Take Your Bible to School Day
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Candi Cushman
with Bring Your Bible Day (www.BringYourBible.org)

Students are encouraged to “Bring it. Share it. Live it.” on October 8, 2015. Bring and share what? Live what? Their Bible! Candi Cushman is an Educational Analyst with Focus on the Family, spear heading their project “True Tolerance”. They kicked off their “Bring it. Share it. Live it.” campaign last October and had an overwhelmingly positive response.

We need to encourage our children to be bold in their faith and not shy away from it just because it might be a little uncomfortable. If your child is in elementary school, he can share a story about his Bible during share time. It’s allowed! If you have a teen in junior or high school, make sure she knows the rules about when and where she can bring her Bible into the open and read and share it with others. It’s allowed, too! Candi point out, however, “Sometimes the only God people will see is you, so it’s important to do this in a loving and respectful manner.”

To learn more about “Bring it. Share it. Live it.” click [here].  All the rules and regulations regarding the campaign can be downloaded there. You can also find tips to help students respond when challenged by an adult who doesn’t think they should have their Bible visible. Or how to respond to another student who says the Bible is false.
