Title: INDIA’S NEW ANTI-CONVERSION LAWS
Topic: Religious Freedom
Discussed by Don Shenk Shenk
with The Tide (www.thetide.org/)

As the world becomes more of a global village, should Christians be able to freely share their faith in Jesus Christ? How can we do this, though, with so many restrictions in countries around the world?

In India, for example, there are over 1.2 billion people who have yet to hear the hope found in Jesus. But more restrictions have just been placed on Christians in India, which will make it nearly impossible to spread the Gospel.

Today, new guest, Don Shenk, discusses the “religious” bill that was recently passed in India and how it will affect their work in the country. Don is the Executive Director for the ministry and has acquired a wealth of international, cross-cultural ministry experience while living in and traveling throughout Africa, Eastern Europe, and India.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

A governor in India recently signed the “Freedom of Religion Bill 2026”? Is the bill’s name a misnomer?

Did the Indian law target Christians, criminalizing converts to Christianity?

Did the Indian law come with other penalties?

The Tide Ministries has been operating in India for over 45 years. How will India’s New Anti-Conversion Law impact missionaries, churches, and other ministries operating in India?

Why should Christ-followers in America care about the growing religious persecution in India?

What is an “untouchable”?

Don closes the segment in prayer for the leaders and lost souls in India and around the world. He also asks for protection for the missionary workers spreading the Gospel in all corners of the globe.
