Most states find themselves in the same situation: current state gasoline/diesel taxes collected do not cover maintenance costs on existing roads. Now how do you fund new lane-miles? Tax or toll?

In Washington DC, Congress just passed the 284 billion dollar transportation bill. Representative Riddle discusses "Earmark 1851" which funds the "acquisition of right of way and environmental preservation from I-45 to U.S. 59 for the Grand Parkway, a 12 million dollar allocation. What about the entire Grand Parkway throughout the listening area? Listen to Rep. Riddle explain how TxDOT passed the buck and is allowing The Harris County Toll Road Authority the power to decide where the Grand Parkway will be built without any public hearings!
