Title: Truth
Topic: Promise Keeper
Discussed by Pastor Averri LeMalle
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
Pastor Averri
LeMalle continues the summer series this week entitled: “Promise Keeper”. The focus each week will be on a different promise from God found in the Bible – both the Old and New Testaments. His sermon this week is on Isaiah 40:31 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Pastor Averri LeMalle is the Lead Pastor at the Jersey Village CFBC Campus.

QUESTIONS / ISSUES DISCUSSED:
Is the storm you’re facing overwhelming? Does the rain seem to be coming down on you on all sides? (Exodus 19:4)
Yesterday, Pastor Averri shared some encouragement through a story about his daughter’s high school graduation. Today, he reminds us that every day is sweeter than the day before. As we are waiting, we can have confidence that God is working!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Why should we wait on God? Because He has been waiting on us! Even when your circumstances don’t change, God changes you in your circumstance. And just because He is silent in the moment, that doesn’t mean He isn’t present in your life.
Encouraging Scripture to meditate on this week:
Lamentation 3:25; Psalm 27:14; Psalm 40:1
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your
personal Lord and Savior, text the word JESUS to 77069 and a pastor or counselor from CFBC will call you back.

Do you think that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were nervous when they were being throw into the fiery furnace? Were they worried when the men who took them were burned to death? Or do you think they had faith through it all?
Could King Nebuchadnezzar literally see a fourth man in the furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? Pastor Averri reminds us: “There is no furnace so hot that it can keep God out!”
How are you allowing God to use your life to show His faithfulness? Are you standing up for God? Are you letting your voice be heard to a lost and dying world?
Remember: When you stand for God, God will stand for you!

Title: God Is Able
Topic: Epic Stories of the Old Testament
Discussed by Pastor Averri LeMalle
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 3
Have you heard and know that God is able to take care of you? Pastor Averri LeMalle says this: “Your faith can inform your feelings to let you know that God is still able!”
Pastor Averri LeMalle is the lead pastor at the Jersey Village CFBC campus. He continues the “Epic
Stories of the Old Testament” summer sermon series this week with a look at Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, revealing more about one truth we can hold on to: God is in control.
Find Pastor Averri’s sermon here.
Scripture Passage: Daniel 3:13-23
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What were Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s convictions? Why were their convictions more important to them than life? What are YOUR convictions? Do you stand by them – no matter what?
How did Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego know, without a shadow of a doubt, that God would take care of them?
What do Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s names mean? This is super interesting! God ALWAYS has a plan!
We are aware of the rest of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s story. We know they walk out of the fiery furnace unscathed. Why not trust God with the rest of YOUR story?
Scripture References: Hebrews 5:27; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Jude 1; Ephesians 3

What do you do when you don’t see the rescue coming? Pastor Averri tells the story of some young women who were enjoying a fun day in a boat, but their adventure quickly turned terrifying. Don’t worry: Everything was okay in the end!
Why did God allow his people to be led into exile?
Were Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego aware of the danger they were in?
Sometimes the people around us do not understand how we can trust God completely in all things. How should we respond to that?
Why did Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stand up to King Nebuchadnezzar? What can we learn from their faithfulness to God? Pastor Averri says: “Their allegiance to God was greater than anything else.”

The first step in winning: STOP WORRYING! It never, ever works! It only causes more pain.

Day 5
We are all part of the family of God. Does God want us to just survive in His family? Or does He want us to thrive?
Pastor Averri LeMalle kicks off a new series called “Made to Thrive: Building Extraordinary Relationships”. Pastor LeMalle is the Teacher Pastor at
Champion Forest Baptist Church.
His sermon this week is entitled: “The Family of God”, centered on Genesis 2:18 “Then the Lord God said,
'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.'”
Questions/Issues Discussed:
How can we, as believers, cultivate our relationships with each other? Pastor Averri suggests three areas: worship, missions, and ministry. They are all part of a bigger picture.
If a family member or friend was physically lost, you would do everything possible to find them, right? Are you doing everything possible to reach your lost friends and family?
What are the benefits of being part of a church family, including small groups?
1. Authentic community
2. Spiritual maturity

Title: The Family of God
Topic: Made to Thrive
Discussed by Pastor Averri LeMalle
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 4
We are all part of the family of God.
How can God use YOU to help someone else? First, share the love of God with them! Then let Him take control!
OPTIMIZE OUR OPPORTUNITY TO GROW AS GOD’S FAMILY
Pastor Averri uses Hebrews 10:24-25 and John 17:20-23
Does every member in your family look the same? Most likely not!
Do you always agree with your family members? Definitely not!
If you disagree, does that mean you do not love someone? Absolutely not!
“Blood is thicker than water.” I’m sure you’ve used this phrase once or twice. But what exactly does it mean?

Former First Lady Barbara Bush once said: “Never lose sight of the fact that the most important yardstick of your success will be how you treat other people – your family, friends, and coworkers, and even strangers you meet along the way.”
Pastor Averri uses two CFBC Pastors for a “Garden of Eden” visual example of the Family of God.
Can God really use us to help someone out of loneliness? YES!
Did Christ only help those who deserved it? Absolutely not! He helped the broken and the lost and those who were broken to pieces.

If you missed the individual praise band instruments playing yesterday, use our “Archive Link” above to search for the segment. Today, though, we get the whole shebang! And it’s awesome.
Concerning the individual instruments playing, Pastor Averri states: “Alone they will never be able to fulfill the melody they were meant to bring. The sweetest melody comes when we exist in community.”
RECOGNIZE OUR NEED FOR GOD-GIVEN RELATIONSHIPS
Adam’s first relationship was with God. Why should we follow Adam’s example?
Why do we need to connect with our Creator?

Title: Set to Go
Topic: The Road He Chose
Discussed by Pastor Averri LeMalle
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
Over the next few weeks, pastors from Champion Forest Baptist Church will be teaching a series of sermons on “The Road He Chose: Through the Cross to the Empty Tomb”.
The first sermon in this series is from Averri LeMalle, the teaching pastor at the Champions Campus. The title of his sermon is “Set to Go”, focusing on Luke 9:51-56.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:10-20 about the “Whole Armor of God”. Have you read these verses lately? It may be time for a refresher….
“Divine Demonstrations of Determination” that Jesus exhibited:
1. Jesus was decisive about fulfilling his destiny (Luke 9:51)
2. Jesus was dedicated to go the distance (Luke 9:52-53)
3. Jesus was determined to not be distracted (Luke 9:54-55)
The final is: Jesus was devoted to our deliverance (Luke 9:56)
Jesus continued to fulfill his destiny simply because he loves us. He was dedicated to go all the way for us.
When God stands at the starting line and shouts “Get ready! Get set! Go!” will you be ready?

The first sermon in this series is from Averri LeMalle, the teaching pastor at the Champions Campus. The title of his sermon is “Set to Go”, focusing on Luke 9:51-56.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
On Tuesday, Pastor Averri LeMalle discussed the first two “Divine Demonstrations of Determination” that Jesus exhibited:
1. Jesus was decisive about fulfilling his destiny (Luke 9:51)
2. Jesus was dedicated to go the distance (Luke 9:52-53)
The third is: Jesus was determined to not be distracted (Luke 9:54-55)
One of the biggest distractions for Christians is the life of the unbeliever. When someone isn’t ready to follow Jesus, do you judge and condemn them? Or do you continue to love and pray for them?
Why is a car windshield larger than the rearview mirror?
Pastor LeMalle says this: “Magnify what is most important [so you can] minimize the distractions.”

Is your commitment to God public? Even strangers you meet should know you are a Christian! Can they see your commitment?
Listen as Pastor Averri shares a story about John Stephen Akhwari from Tanzania in the 1968 Olympics... John said this after the race: “My country didn’t send me to start the race. They sent me to finish the race.”
Will you finish the race?

Pastor LeMalle has several “Divine Demonstrations of Determination”:
1. Jesus was decisive about fulfilling his destiny (Luke 9:51)
In addition, Luke 9:22 says this: “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.”
2. Jesus was dedicated to go the distance (Luke 9:52-53)
Jesus knew what his destiny was and yet he still followed His Father’s will.

Part 5
Do you have “An Impressive Faith”? Pastor Fleming will challenge you to have the “Faith of a Centurion” next week as he continues his sermon series “The Gospel of Matthew”, with a look at Matthew 8, verses 5-13.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
You will never regret telling someone of Christ’s love for them, but you will regret NOT telling them! Every person we meet is an opportunity to witness. Pastor LeMalle encourages us to step out of our comfort zone and just do it!
In review: make worship a priority, trust authority, and be secure in Christ. Be bold in Christ. Be mindful of his instructions. And be happy knowing that he is King of all.

Title: Be Great Commissioned Christians
Topic: Series: The Gospel According to Matthew
Discussed by Pastor Averri LeMalle
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Part 4
God has called us all to be Great Commissioned Christians. Our influence should, in turn, influence others for the Gospel of Christ. Others should automatically see Christ in us. But how can we do that?
This week, Champion Forest Baptist Church’s Teaching Pastor, Averri LeMalle, delivers a powerful sermon “Be Great Commissioned Christians” from the sermon series “The Gospel of Matthew”. He will focus on the famous chapter from the Bible, Matthew 28: The Great Commission.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
The Bible is more than just a book to read to our children. The Bible is more than just something we bring to church on Sundays to look like a “good Christian”. The Bible is a rule book. The Bible is our guide. The Bible should be so ingrained in our hearts that His truth shines through to every person we meet. Is this true in your life?
“Whenever God allows us to be part of the life of anyone, God has entrusted us to share with them the life impact He has made on our lives,” Pastor Averri commissions us. Does he mean everyone or just those we know well?
Pastor LeMalle tells a story in today’s segment of a time when his refrigerator broke and the repair technician had to return several times because it continued to break. How did Pastor LeMalle handle the situation?

Questions/Issues Discussed:
To be Great Commissioned Christians, Pastor Averri challenges us to trust in His authority. He uses football as an analogy to explain how to achieve this…
The Savior is unlike any other authority in our lives. His authority stands – forever – in Heaven and on Earth.
With God’s authority, He calls us to go forth and spread His Truth to the four corners of the Earth. This is not an option for us. It is not something we do when we feel like it. It is His call and we must obey Him everywhere we go and in all we do.

The Great Commission:
“16Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.
17And when they saw him they worshipped him, but some doubted.
18And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'”
How can we be effective witnesses?
Why should we tell others of his love and sacrifice for us?
Pastor LeMalle encourages us to be on mission WITH Christ, not FOR him. First, he says that “we must make worship the priority of our lives.” We cannot worship and be disobedient. Listen in as he explains more…

Part 5
Are you a worrier? We all worry from time to time. But we shouldn’t, should we? I’ve seen a meme on Facebook and Instagram the last week that says: “If you have time to worry, you have time to pray.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Final thoughts: Practice prayerful conversation with God. He will take your worry away!
Doesn’t God take care of the animals? Would He do no less for you? When He created man, He made us in HIS image. You have no idea how much He cares for you! You are so valuable to Him. Trust in Him today.

Has worry ever worked for anyone? Pastor Averri continues in Matthew 6:25-34, explaining what Jesus said about being anxious and worrying over things we have no control over.
Pastor Averri paraphrases it this way: “Worry is unbiblical; and if it’s unbiblical, it’s ungodly; and if it’s ungodly, it’s sin.” He uses Proverbs and 1 Peter as more references…
The first step in winning: STOP WORRYING! It never, ever works! It only causes more pain.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Listen as Pastor Averri tells a story about frozen birds. Don’t worry – it’s a good story!
Nothing has changed in over 2,000 years: Jesus still came from Heaven to live as a man on Earth and die for the sins of the world. Period. Don’t celebrate the best season of the year without receiving the best gift of all.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Who knew Pastor Averri could sing??? Listen to this final segment today and be blessed by his beautiful voice singing “Amazing Grace”.
What is God’s track record? Has He ever failed you? Has He ever left you?

Questions/Issues Discussed:
How does a pastor handle crisis situations? Well, they aren’t perfect, that’s for sure! Pastor LeMalle continues to share a personal story of his struggle after Hurricane Katrina.
Is it okay to complain to God? Yes, absolutely! Be honest with Him. Get mad. Yell and cry out. God would rather you turn to Him rather than away.
“If you’re going to complain, at least complain to Someone who can something about it,” Pastor Averri LeMalle says.
Who are you consulting in times of crisis? Friends? Family? Your Pastor? Those are all great, but when do you consult God? He should be the first person you turn to for clarity and comfort, not only in prayer, but reading the Scriptures, too.

Pastor Averri begins the sermon with this timely reminder: “Life doesn’t always set an appointment for you to encounter crisis….It doesn’t ask your permission.” God is always faithful, though, to respond to us.
Pastor Averri uses Psalm 13 to encourage us in this first segment. David, the author of this Psalm, was in the midst of great sorrow. David was asking God where He was; why did it seem as though God had turned away from him? The end of the Psalm gives us hope, though!

Part 5
This week, Teaching Pastor Averri LeMalle delivers another fantastic
sermon in the “Following Jesus” series. Using Matthew 28, Pastor Averri encourages us to constantly be “Developing Disciples” – even in our own lives. This passage is the last command of Christ and one we should all live by daily: The Great Commission.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
The third Determination in Discipleship is: Be determined to be selective in discipling. Don’t go overboard with trying to disciple every person you meet. Be intentional in your discipleship.
Pastor Averri encourages you to start today with two easy steps: get connected and live your life on mission.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
We aren’t required to make disciples for ourselves. That would just be silly! We are required to make an eternal impact in the lives of others for Jesus Christ. Pastor Averri uses the original disciples as an example…
He also discusses the importance of intentional, spontaneous, and seasonal discipleship.
The third Determination in Discipleship is: Be determined to be selective in discipling. If you are on fire now and cannot wait to get out there and tell others about Jesus, that’s great! Way to go! However, Pastor Averri warns not to get overzealous.

Who has made a difference in your Christian walk? Have you thanked them lately? Do it today! Even if it’s been years since you’ve spoken, let them know.
Is it hard for you to follow the instructions and directions from authority figures? Hopefully, not. So why don’t you follow this command from Jesus to disciple others?
Pastor Averri shares Three Determinations in Discipleship this week.
The first Determination: Be determined to go in the authority of Jesus Christ. Don’t wait until you feel “qualified” to tell others about Jesus. God already gave you the qualification; you just have to use it.

Averri LeMalle is the Teaching Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church. As the Teaching Pastor, he preaches and teaches in worship venues on Sundays and Wednesdays, rotationally serving all campuses and ministering to the entire congregation.
Continuing in the sermon series, “Following Jesus”, Pastor Averri LeMalle is presenting the sermon,
“Time to Pray”, using the Scripture from Mark 1 beginning in verse 35.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Ruth Graham: “Pray when you feel like it, for it’s a sin to neglect such an opportunity. Pray when you don’t feel like it, for it’s dangerous to remain in such a condition.”
Do you struggle to find the words to pray? You’re not alone! Even the disciples asked Jesus to help them to know how to pray. Pastor Averri uses two different acronyms to help those who struggle with knowing how to pray.
ACTS:
Adoration,
Confess,
Thanksgiving, and
Supplication.
HEART:
Honor,
Examine,
Ask,
Request, and
Thankful.
Pastor Averri has a warning, though: Don’t make prayer a ritual. Listen in as he concludes this week’s sermon…

Does prayer change things? Nope, it doesn’t. It touched the heart of God and God changes things!
Scheduling time to pray to God is something we should look forward to! It’s not something we should dread or want to rush through. Never pass an opportunity to converse with God. Pastor Averri LeMalle says: “We should be in a hurry to pray to Him, and not hurry up when we pray to Him.”
Pastor Averri tells a story in today’s segment of the shortest prayer he every prayed, which happened to be before a meal. Listen in as he shares this funny, but convicting, story…

Part 5
Today is the final segment in Pastor Averri LeMalle’s sermon: “Realize Rest in a Restless World” from the sermon series “The Gospel of Matthew”. Tune in next week as Pastor David Fleming is back with a fantastic sermon about “Guarding Your Heart”. You don’t want to miss it!
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Jesus never lost his cool. He never walked away and said “Y’all crazy people are too much for me.” This is why it is so vital that we, as Christian, take time to rest and live more from His Word and know His Promises. If we don’t, we explode with out-of-control emotions.
Rest allows our emotions to take a time-out and be washed clean. This also allows God to do His job through us!
“It doesn’t matter what is going on around us,” Pastor Averri says. He uses the analogy of gravity to explain how our situations are directly related to the amount of rest we need. Listen in!

Part 4
This week, Pastor Averri LeMalle’s sermon is entitled: “Realize Rest in a Restless World” from the sermon series “The Gospel of Matthew”. This sermon was presented on February 12, 2017, and focuses on Matthew 11, beginning in verse 28.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Are you living connected to Christ?
In Matthew 11:29, Christ said “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me…for you will find rest for your souls.” Pastor Averri calls this “reallocating your resources”.
Have you ever wondered what “yoke” really means? Well, wonder no more! Pastor Averri explains in the beginning of this segment today.
The next phrase in this verse is “learn from me”. What can we learn from Christ? One translation says you can “learn to master your emotions”. We can all benefit from that, can’t we?
Listen tomorrow as Pastor Averri LeMalle completes his powerful sermon “Realize Rest in a Restless World”.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Anyone can come to God. Don’t worry about your past. Leave the baggage at the door and simply come to Him.
“God doesn’t want to see His children – His prized creation – dying under the weight of oppression and sin that separates us from Him,” Pastor Averri passionately proclaims. “Close the gap between you and Him,” he continues.
Forget about God for a minute…How do handle interaction with others? Do you ever confide your troubles to a close friend or a counselor? Do you ever air your frustrations on Facebook or Twitter? Probably so, right?
Change this around and tell your troubles to God. He wants you to! Yes, He already knows, but the point is this: Stop relying on others and rely on God!
Do whatever it takes to close the gap and come to me, Christ says. Furthermore, in Matthew 11:29, he says “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me…for you will find rest for your souls.” Listen as Pastor Averri explains this verse. He will continue tomorrow, so tune in!

Christ didn’t come to save himself. He came to save YOU and ME. His invitation is not for the prefect person; his invitation is for the hurting and brokenhearted.
Pastor Averri says: “When you accept this invitation, it is life-changing…Christ says to come the way you are.”

This week, Pastor Averri LeMalle’s sermon is entitled: “Divine Intervention” from the sermon series “The Gospel of Matthew”. Please keep in mind that this sermon was delivered during the Christmas season and some reference may not be relevant to today.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Yesterday, Pastor Averri reminded us of Joseph’s dedication to Mary. He loved her, believed her, and trusted her completely. When Joseph accepted God’s word and surrendered to His plan, everything worked out.
How faithful and obedient are you? Do you second-guess God? How’s that working out for you? Probably not very good...
Pastor Averri says, “When you trust in God’s way, you will always be ready for His intervention in your life.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Joseph responded to Mary’s pregnancy with compassion. He didn’t cast her aside and spread rumors about her. Instead, he listened to the angel and supported Mary. In other words, he accepted his present situation and made the best of it.
How do you handle conflict and unpleasant situations? Do you react like Joseph? Or do you give up?
Does God really have a reason for every good and bad situation we experience in this life?
God’s saving grace and mercy is not reserved for preachers and missionaries. His grace and mercy is for ALL.
Pastor Averri LeMalle also says: “It takes a change of intentions to align them obediently with God’s intervention.” There is a reason that The Gospels specifically mention Joseph’s obedience. Listen as Pastor Averri explains.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
At this point in the story of the birth of Jesus, Mary is found to be pregnant before marriage. She is adamant that she has not been with a man and that the baby is the Son of God. Joseph is understandably confused and hurt and embarrassed. But Joseph really steps up to the plate and becomes the father he was meant to be.
Why is godly character important? “If we are going to be ready for God’s intervention in our lives, we have to cultivate godly character that will hold in times of crisis,” Pastor Averri states. “We have to consider God’s revelation in our present situations.”
Do you have compassion against those who have wronged you?

Why does God demand our submission?
Where is the true background of the Christmas Story? In Matthew or Luke?
Why did Joseph trust Mary when she came back pregnant from Elizabeth’s house? He had every right to leave her in shame, but he chose to stay even through his pain.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
God still intervenes in the lives of His people. God is still in the miracle-making business. Isn’t that an amazing realization?
The birth of Christ is the most miraculous act God ever performed. Pastor Averri LeMalle looks at the birth of Christ this week, in Matthew 1, beginning in verse 18.
Pastor Averri makes an excellent point: Jesus did not just appear on Earth. He was born, just like you and me. Why did God choose to bring Jesus to the world by birth and not an automatic appearance?
Does God really do what He says He will do?
Why does God use flawed people to share His hope to a flawed world?

Questions/Issues Discussed:
“God is calling us away from retaliation to affection. He is calling us into a relationship with Him.” – Pastor Averri LeMalle
Yesterday, Pastor LeMalle reminded us of what Jesus said in Matthew 5 about anger, lust, adultery, divorce, swearing falsely, and revenge. Today, he looks at verses 43-48, which instruct us to love our enemies. “The essence of the Gospel is found in love,” Pastor Averri laments. We cannot hate our neighbor (or enemy) and have love for God at the same time.
You cannot survive this life alone. Only Christ can fulfill the righteousness of God. You must rely on God and accept His authority over your life. Accept and confess that only Jesus Christ can make you whole again. If you have never accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, please do not hesitate – do it today. You will be glad you did. Questions/Issues Discussed:
Are you an angry person? I’m not talking about just occasionally. Do you get angry often? The person in front of you in traffic…the cashier…the man at the toll booth…the receptionist at the doctor’s office…
What about politically? Do you ever have “word fights” on Facebook or Twitter with someone who disagrees with you about politics? Well, stop it! It’s time for confession.
Pastor Averri moves on to the next sin mentioned in Matthew 5: lust and adultery. Don’t stop listening! This is a very, very important issue we must discuss. It’s not just about “sex”; this applies to anything you want more than you desire God.
“If anything causes you to sin, you should disconnect yourself from it,” Pastor Averri says. “If it doesn’t lead you to God, you should leave it alone.”
Pastor Averri also discusses divorce and swearing falsely. Tune in tomorrow for the conclusion of Pastor Averri LeMalle’s sermon.

As children, we must follow our parents’ rules. As Christians, we must follow God’s rules. But remember what Pastor Averri says…putting aside all those rules and regulations, God wants to have a relationship with us.
But how can we follow those rules and regulations in order to obtain a relationship with God? Pastor Averri continues with Matthew 5:23 and Jesus’s instructions to the disciples, specifically toward anger. In fact, there are many instances throughout the Bible when Jesus addressed the sin of anger.
“Our emotions can get in the way of our worship of God,” Pastor LeMalle states. “Any time we portray anger toward someone else, we are portraying our anger toward someone who is made in God’s image… We cannot claim to love God and remain angry with the very people God loves.” Ouch! Remember that the next time you get angry with your spouse or your kids!

This week’s sermon from the series “The Gospel According to Matthew” will be presented by Pastor Averri LeMalle, the teaching Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church. Today is the first segment in his sermon entitled “Dealing with Temptation”, with a focus on Matthew Chapter Four.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Most of us had heard the story of the Tempting of Jesus. Listen as Pastor Averri LeMalle reads the story in a new way, giving us fresh perspective.
There are three situations in life that we ALL will encounter, no matter race, age, sex, or financial status. One is death. What are the others? Pastor Averri adds an interesting fourth item to list, as well…
Is temptation the same as sin?
Are you ever too old or too “religious” to be tempted?
Pastor Averri begins to tell a story from his childhood in this segment. We will air the “rest of the story” tomorrow, so tune in!
Pastor David Fleming encourages you to visit Champion Forest Baptist Church in
NW Houston this Sunday! CFBC has Life Groups classes (Sunday School) for all
ages and walks of life, including Mark Lanier’s Biblical Literacy Class, as well

Part 5
Pastor Averri T. LeMalle is the Teaching Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church. On Sunday, July 3, 2016, he preached a sermon entitled: “Great Hope in a Low Valley” from Ezekiel 37: 1-14. Today, we will be airing the final portion of Pastor Averri’s sermon. Tune in next week as Vicar Melvin Tinker, from London, subs in for Mark Lanier teaching on “Why I Am Not a Buddhist”.
Pastor Averri gets very passionate in this week’s final segment. He wants to stress that God is not just sitting around, waiting for you to ask Him what to do. He’s already mandated your purpose; He’s simply waiting for you to obey!
Practical Steps on how to increase your hearing the Word of God:
Submerge yourself in the Scripture
Surround yourself with the Word of God
Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit
Write out the Word of God every day
Pastor Averri encourages you to write, type, or text the Word of God for the next six weeks. Use sticky notes. Use a notepad or a journal. Text the Word of God to your cell phone or a prayer partner. Type an email to yourself or a friend with Scripture. Daily. Every day for the next six weeks. Try it and see how God changes your attitude toward those valley moments.

Pastor Averri T. LeMalle is the Teaching Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church. On Sunday, July 3, 2016, he preached a sermon entitled: “Great Hope in a Low Valley” from Ezekiel 37: 1-14. Listen in each weekday as we air a portion of his encouraging message about the Valley of Dry Bones.
Pastor Averri continues to break down Ezekiel 37: 1-14 in today’s segment, specifically verse 9: “Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”
When God speaks, He mandates a response. When God speaks, something WILL happen. When He speaks to you, you will become passionate and willing to do what He says. The “bones” will come together and become whole again.
Tune in tomorrow to hear the conclusion of Pastor Averri LeMalle’s sermon on “Great Hope in a Low Valley”.

God is unlimited. Even though our circumstance may be glum and we may think there is no way out of the rut we are in, God knows. He sees. He cares. “We do not have to lose hope even though it appears hopeless because the God of hope is in the valley with you,” Pastor Averri states.
You do have a responsibility, though. When God speaks, you must hear what He says. You cannot ignore His voice and still expect to be lifted up out of the valley. Sometimes, we are too loud and simply cannot hear Him. Quiet down in those times and really, really listen for His answer – His help – His guidance. Trust me, He will definitely be there.

The celebration of independence isn’t just a notion, but an expectation. This is
the concept which President John Adams wrote about, and Pastor Averri feels is
vitally important, especially today.
In Ezekiel 37, the people may still be “children” of God, but they are not
“representing” God. The temple had bene destroyed. They people no longer
practiced godly activities. Pastor Averri says, “The distinctive that made them
children of God are now diluted…There is a hole in their holiness that leads to
a dryness in their soul.” Wow. What a concept. Listen in as Pastor Averri gives
more wisdom from Ezekiel.
Everyone has experienced a “valley full of bones”; it is the way you react to
that valley which will affect your holiness. When we try to help ourselves out
of that valley, we realize that we really don’t have all the answers. However, “God
is not limited by our limitations,” Pastor Averri states. God knows we
can’t do it. He knows that we need Him. God has already been in the valley
before you ever stepped foot in the midst of the bones. He knows how to pull you
through. Try Him first and it will work out better than you could ever imagine.

Pastor Averri T. LeMalle is the Teaching Pastor at Champion Forest
Baptist Church. On Sunday, July 3, 2016, he preached a sermon
entitled: “Great Hope in a Low Valley” from the Scripture passage
Ezekiel 37: 1-14. Today, Pastor Averri will give a short recap of that sermon.
In addition, listen in each weekday here on the What’s UP Radio Program to hear
an excerpt from that sermon.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why did Pastor Averri choose the text from Ezekiel 37: 1-14 for the July 4th
weekend sermon?
The Nation of Israel, at one time, had known the blessings of God, but in the
passage found in Ezekiel, where are the people of God?
From the mountain top to the valley, what happened to God’s people?
Are we, who call ourselves Christians, somewhat dry in God’s eyes? Pastor Averri
says, “Any time we allow our holiness to be hijacked by anything of the
world, it leads to a leak in our spiritual development and fellowship with God
and that relationship can dry.”
There is great hope for the future. Pastor Averi LeMalle will encourage you to:
Submerge yourself in the Word
Surround yourself in the Word
Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit
Write out the Word every day.
Pastor Averri encourages listeners to write out Scripture on sticky notes, type
them in an email, text it to yourself, and read the passage often throughout the
day.
Form a new habit: do this for the next six weeks. See how your life will change.

God has been good to our country. He has blessed us, indeed. But have we become dry, like the bones Ezekiel described? Can we come together once again and be made whole?
Pastor Averri LeMalle tells a story of how he was driving with some “interrogation specialists” recently. When these “FBI agents” noticed something new, they questioned him. Listen in as he tells the story of fireworks, children, the Declaration of Independence, google, and the big “why” question.
The celebration of independence isn’t just a notion, but an expectation. This is the concept which President John Adams wrote about. Pastor Averri feels this concept is vitally important, especially today. We celebrate with fireworks and guns and parades, but what about our reverence to God for allowing us the freedom in our country to honor Him? Do we still do that? Tune in tomorrow for more!

passage is about a man who had been lame for over 40 years. He was cast out. Set
aside. Looked down upon. Barely surviving.
God calls us to pray for one another. Do you have enough faith to ask someone to
pray for you? Sometimes it is embarrassing if the problem is personal or we deem
it trivial. You don’t have to give anyone personal, intimate details of your
life; just say you need prayer.
If you need prayer, call Champion Forest Baptist Church. Their staff is more than WILLING to pray for you and to minister to your needs.

You know you have it bad when people know you by your infirmary and not by your name. But, when God is able to portray His power through you, you have it good!
Jesus makes a finite impression in our lives. When He moves in your life, there is nothing – and no one – that can change the impact that He makes on you. That is exactly what
happened in the lame man’s life. He felt the power of the Holy Spirit and he was not shy when telling others what had happened!
The apostles were the same way. They could have said, “Look what we did!” but instead they proclaimed, “Look what Jesus Christ did!” No one else has willingly died for mankind
so that we can be a part of the Family of God. No one but Jesus Christ.
Side Note: If you can spend time talking about sports, music, work, and other meaningless things, you can spend time talking about Jesus Christ who made a difference in your life!

This lame man was not allowed to enter the temple because of his disability, but
he knew – he knew – that something wonderful was beyond those gates. He had
faith that one day he would be able to see the inside.
Do you remember what happened? He was healed! He walked! He leapt for joy! The
elders were not happy that this man was now walking among them. They were mad!
Instead of focusing on the miracle, they only focused on the negative. They were
not devoted to the Lord as they claimed; they were only there for show.
Pastor Averri challenges us to be fully engaged in our walk with Christ. Don’t

Title: THE CONTEXT BIBLE - A CAUSE TO CONTINUE

Day 5
We conclude Pastor Averri LeMalle’s May 25, 2014 sermon today, “A
Cause to Continue”, from the Context Bible Series. The
disciples were not perfect. They were fallen men who followed a perfect man.
They believed in Jesus so much that they were willing to drop everything and
serve Him and others.
Are you willing to do the same? Are willing to drop everything to follow Him?
You don’t have to do this literally. Not everyone is called to be a missionary
in Uganda or the pastor of a church. You may have some “stuff” in your life that
just really shouldn’t be there. Examine your life and what you are WILLING to
sacrifice in complete obedience to Him.

Day 4
Pastor Averri
LeMalle delivered a powerful sermon on May 25, 2014, at Champion Forest Baptist
Church. The sermon is part of the Context Bible Series and is
entitled “A Cause to Continue”, from the Scripture
passage in Acts 2:1-13, 21.
When you have the Holy Spirit within you, you have the power to receive messages
from God. You can then tell others about his love and forgiveness.
The disciples experienced the mighty works of God on a daily basis. When they
spoke in tongues, they were like “Whoa! What is going on?” But did they run
away? Did they hide their faces and stop communicating? NO WAY! They pumped it
up and went crazy for God!
Footnote: “You can do without being, but you cannot be without doing.” The Holy
Spirit empowers us to be witnesses. Will you accept the challenge from the Holy
Spirit and be a willing witness?

The sermon
is part of the Context Bible Series and is entitled “A Cause to

The disciples not only tended to the work of God, but they willingly allowed God
to work through them. They were willing witnesses. They were willing helpers. In
fact, they were so willing to let the Holy Spirit work in their lives that they
spoke in tongues. We all know the story, but do you really know why it happened?
What was God trying to prove? That He was better than the little gods? He didn’t
have to!
What is very significant about this story is that the disciples were actively
pursuing God and His Holy spirit. Have you actively pursued the Holy Spirit
lately? Pastor Averri encourages you to do that today! You will feel refreshed
and renewed!
