Title: DEVOTED OR DISTRACTED - ACTS 3:1-10
Topic: Devoted or Distracted
Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
Pastor Stephen Trammell serves as the Lead Pastor of the Champion Forest North Campus and continues
serving throughout the week at the main campus, including preaching in the Wednesday night service and occasionally on Sunday morning.
NOTE: This week’s sermon is from June 8, 2014, entitled “Maximizing God Moments” by Pastor Stephen Trammell.
When the lame man was healed, he didn’t just casually get up and walk around. He leapt! He shouted with joy! He told everyone what had happened! He didn’t try to hide it. Peter and
John were the blessing that man had been praying for.
Application: Don’t lose your leap. When you feel the lowest - when you feel you can’t possibly do any good for the Kingdom - that’s when you will be the biggest blessing! Don’t pass
up opportunities because they seem too hard or terrifying.
This week, take the leap and ask someone: “What’s your story?” You never know who just needs to talk. They may never know a better way until you are willing to listen.
If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, and would like more information about how to become a Christian, please call Champion Forest Baptist Church. They
would be more than willing to pray with you. Call (281) 440-3800.
If you do not have a church home, consider visiting Champion Forest. They offer both English and Spanish services on Sunday morning and throughout the week. Visit their website
www.ChampionForest.org for more information.

NOTE: This week’s sermon is from June 8, 2014, entitled “Maximizing God Moments” by Pastor Stephen Trammell.
Essential #3: Leap into the moments God orchestrates. Do not hesitate. Life is not measured by minutes but by moments.
What do you have to offer? You do not have to be wealthy to be used by God. You do not have to be the most talented singer or artist or speaker.
Arm yourself with the gospel and trust Him to use you. You will be such as blessing to others that even you will be surprised!
I love what Pastor Trammell says: “You have been given the cure to the cancer of sin! You are their miracle!”

Day 3

NOTE: This week’s sermon is from June 8, 2014, entitled “Maximizing God Moments” by Pastor Stephen Trammell.
How often do you hand some spare change or a couple bucks to the man or woman holding a “Hungry. Will Work for Food” sign at the corner? How often do you even make eye
contact?
I will admit that I do not give as much or as often as I can or should. Is it because I “know” they’ll just buy booze, drugs, or cigarettes? What if they really haven’t eaten in days? What if
they really do have three young children at home?
It shouldn’t matter what you think. It only matters what you do. Are you really in that much of a hurry to get to your next destination that you cannot spare one or two minutes to see
what that person really needs?
Sometime our greatest time of ministry is when we are in a hurry. Stop. Slow down. Your willingness to listen might be more valuable than any amount of money you could offer.
Peter and John could have just passed by the lame man – the beggar – and entered the temple. What a wonderful surprise it was to actually be recognized! Who will you recognize
today?
Listen in tomorrow to hear Essential #3 on “Maximizing God Moments” from Pastor Stephen Trammell.

Day 2

NOTE: This week’s sermon is from June 8, 2014, entitled “Maximizing God Moments” by Pastor Stephen Trammell.
Peter and John were simply embracing their new identity in Christ when they went to the temple that day. They were living out the Christian life. It would have been so easy for them to
just pass by the lame man and go straight into the temple to worship, but they chose not to. They chose to “Maximize the God Moment”.
We exist in order to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ on Earth. You may be the only Jesus others see. What do they see? Does that thought make you cringe?
Essential #2: Look to see where God is at work. We are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Just look around you. You’ll find something to do – someone to bless.

God blesses us based on our obedience so we, in turn, can be a blessing to others. We meet people every day who are longing for hope – longing for a friend – longing for someone to just listen.
God specializes in orchestrating divine appointments. Will you seize them for the Glory of God?
Essential #1: Live in light of your identity in Christ. How do you view yourself? What motivates you? What do you focus on? What is the purpose of your life?
That’s a lot to chew on! Listen in this week for more essentials and how to “Maximize the God Moments”.

Title: DEVOTED OR DISTRACTED: FREEDOM TO SAY IT OUT LOUD
Topic: Devoted or Distracted
Discussed by Pastor David Fleming
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
Pastor David Fleming has been the senior pastor of Champion Forest Baptist Church since 2006.
His passion is to preach God's word in a way that will disciple, equip, build, and lead the Body of Christ, so they can reach and win the lost for
Jesus Christ. David and his wife, Beverly, have three children, Jonathon, Hannah, and Rebekah.
This week’s sermon is from June 29, entitled “Freedom to Say it Out Loud”, which focused on Acts 4: 13-22.
(NOTE: The sermon theme for this week is relevant to the July 4th
holiday, but we should heed Pastor Fleming’s words all the time, in everything we do.)
Pastor Fleming shares the fifth and final expectation today: Tell them about Jesus.
The right thing to do is not always the easiest, fastest, or even the politically correct thing. It may be the thing that costs you the most. When government puts us in that awkward
position, that is when we must boldly stand up for what it right.
Our biblical convictions are not for sale for tax exempt status!
The apostles were willing to share to others the reason why they were being persecuted. They did not lie. They did not beat around the bush. They were up front and honest to
everyone who inquired.
Our mission is not to convert people to our way of “politically thinking”. Our mission is to win souls. Once they are saved, God will change their way of thinking.
Food for Thought: Don’t miss the mission while you are waiting for the final trip.

Title: DEVOTED OR DISTRACTED: FREEDOM TO SAY IT OUT LOUD
Topic: Devoted or Distracted
Discussed by Pastor David Fleming

Day 4
Pastor David Fleming has been the senior pastor of Champion Forest Baptist Church since 2006. His passion is to preach God's word in a way that will disciple, equip, build, and lead the Body of Christ, so they can reach and win the lost for Jesus Christ. David and his wife, Beverly, have three children, Jonathon, Hannah, and Rebekah.

(NOTE: The sermon theme for this week is relevant to the July 4th holiday, but we should heed Pastor Fleming’s words all the time, in everything we do.)
Is there anything more valuable than your faith? Is your silence for sale?
Pastor Fleming says we cannot afford to be a silent witness in today’s society. Jesus did not say “Be my witness whenever you want to. Or wherever you feel safe and it’s not too hot outside. Or where there is running water and electricity.” Jesus said “Go unto all the world and preach the Gospel so that others might be saved.”
Pastor Fleming says one area that we should not compromise our Christian belief is in politics. Yes, Politics! A preacher preaching about politics from the pulpit on a Sunday morning! Oh how the tongues must be waggin’!
The signers of the Constitution were being civilly disobedient against the laws of men. And that’s okay because they were following the law of God, not the laws of men. But is it wise to disobey the laws of men NOW when they against our moral, Christian values?

Pastor Fleming refuses to NOT preach in the name of Jesus. If you tell him he cannot pray “In Jesus Name”, he will say “No thanks!”
The world wants us to be silent about the name of Jesus. The devil does not want the name of Jesus to be mentioned. He knows the power of the name of Jesus.
You have nothing to offer, nothing to give, if you don’t say the name of Jesus.
Listen in as Pastor Fleming gives the next two points in his sermon on freedom and opposition: 1) living a credible Christian life and 2) why it is important to know what you believe.

When Christians are told they must do things that go against their moral values – Biblical values – it opens a floodgate that is difficult to close. The more we stand up and fight for what
is right, the more opposition we will face. This is not a new thing to Christians. This has happened since the dawn of time.
So how do we face this opposition without turning people away? How do we explain our position in a loving and kind manner? After all, we are called to win souls for the Kingdom, not
push them away.

Are you grateful for your freedom in America? Do you celebrate Independence Day with picnics and fireworks? Do you spend time reflecting on the true meaning of the holiday?
When Peter and John preached the gospel, miracles happened. Every single time. After they healed the lame man, they were arrested. Pastor Fleming emphasizes a specific word in
the Scripture: boldness. Peter and John were “bold” in their proclamation.
Christians across the world are being persecuted for their faith. They are standing boldly in their faith, but they do not have the support from their government. Here in America, we
currently have the freedom to worship the way we want. Pastor Fleming warns that these religious freedoms are slowly, but surely, being stripped away from us.
Stand boldly with the Scripture and fight for what is right!

LeMalle continues with a new series at Champion Forest Baptist Church, entitled:
“Devoted or Distracted”. To hear the other sermons, log

In Pastor Averri’s sermon from June 22, 2014, he dives into Acts 4:7-12. This
passage is about a man who had been lame for over 40 years. He was cast out. Set
aside. Looked down upon. Barely surviving.
God calls us to pray for one another. Do you have enough faith to ask someone to
pray for you? Sometimes it is embarrassing if the problem is personal or we deem
it trivial. You don’t have to give anyone personal, intimate details of your
life; just say you need prayer.
If you need prayer, call Champion Forest Baptist Church. Their staff is more than WILLING to pray for you and to minister to your needs.

How much do you love your children? Of course you love them a lot – even when they yell at you in the middle of Target, begging for a new toy when their birthday is only 6 days

How often do you tell your children you love them? Do your actions reflect your love? God loves us so much that He gave us His son, Jesus Christ. What will you do with that love? Will

You know you have it bad when people know you by your infirmary and not by your name. But, when God is able to portray His power through you, you have it good!
Jesus makes a finite impression in our lives. When He moves in your life, there is nothing – and no one – that can change the impact that He makes on you. That is exactly what
happened in the lame man’s life. He felt the power of the Holy Spirit and he was not shy when telling others what had happened!
The apostles were the same way. They could have said, “Look what we did!” but instead they proclaimed, “Look what Jesus Christ did!” No one else has willingly died for mankind
so that we can be a part of the Family of God. No one but Jesus Christ.
Side Note: If you can spend time talking about sports, music, work, and other meaningless things, you can spend time talking about Jesus Christ who made a difference in your life!

This lame man was not allowed to enter the temple because of his disability, but
he knew – he knew – that something wonderful was beyond those gates. He had
faith that one day he would be able to see the inside.
Do you remember what happened? He was healed! He walked! He leapt for joy! The
elders were not happy that this man was now walking among them. They were mad!
Instead of focusing on the miracle, they only focused on the negative. They were
not devoted to the Lord as they claimed; they were only there for show.
Pastor Averri challenges us to be fully engaged in our walk with Christ. Don’t
be a “Just on Sunday” Christian. Be an “Every day all day long” kind of
