Remember: When life gets tough, call on your pastors (and friends) to pray for you!
Why and how is prayer so powerful?
When was the last time you confessed your sins? 1 John 1:9
Why are too many people afraid of confessing their sins to others (not just to God)? Pastor Trammell says this: “Satan does his best work in secret. When you bring your sin into the light, it loses its bite.”
Are you praying for others? If not, why not?
Who was Elijah? Why did he need “help”? Who did God send to help him?

Are you a cheerful person? What do you do when you’re happy?
Remember the charismatic movement in the 80’s? Many Baptist churches went the opposite direction and became extremely conservative. While this is not necessarily wrong, can it stifle our praise?
Psalm 30:4
How is living the Christian life like a tandem bicycle?
Remember: When life gets tough, call on your pastors (and friends) to pray for you! More on this tomorrow…

This week, Pastor Stephen Trammell has four disciplines for us to follow to fulfill our role in revival and spiritual awakening. He will be using Nehemiah chapters 8-12.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Discipline #2: Repent of Known Sin Immediately (Neh. 9)
Are you running away from sin or toward it? Pastor Adrian Rogers once stated:
“Before I knew the Lord, I was running to sin and from Jesus. Now, in Christ, I am running to Jesus and from sin.”
Do you believe God is trying to wake us up? What are Christians waiting for?
Discipline #3: Recount God’s Faithfulness Regularly (Neh. 9)
When is the last time you thanked God?
Are you breathing? Yes? Thank God for that! He is not finished with you yet!
Are you still thankful to live in the United States of America? Thank God for that!
Pastor Trammell has a great suggestion for parents: Have your kids draw something they are thankful for this week. (Editor’s note: For older kids/adults: Write an essay or tell your family at the dinner table what you are thankful for.)

Discipline #2: Repent of Known Sin Immediately (Neh. 9)
Did you know that Satan has a plan for your life, too? Yep – it’s true! His plan is for you to stop pursuing God. Don’t allow Satan’s plan to trump God’s plan.
In Nehemiah 9, how did the people prepare themselves for repentance?
Do you ever compare yourself to others in regards to spirituality? Do you think you’re better or worse than someone else? Why not just judge yourself?
Pastor Trammell says this: “Brokenness always precedes blessing.”

Pastor Stephen Trammell continues in Nehemiah as part of the series “Navigating Your New Normal” with chapters 3-7. His sermon this week, “Staying on Mission Together”, focuses on several different subtopics: expand your vision, give your all, anticipate opposition, advance through adversity, live beyond your skin, invert injustice, sacrifice for the greater good, stay on mission, glorify God, and ensure your name is in His Book of Life.

Why should we live beyond our skin? Are we born selfish? Should we learn how to be inconvenienced for the sake of others? Read Nehemiah 4:17b-18a and listen to Pastor Trammell’s funny story about hair products when he was a kid…
What does “inverted injustice” mean? Pastor Trammell discusses this in more detail tomorrow…

Have you asked this question during this time of Corona quarantine: How will this affect me? Are you allowing His vision to be completed?
Walking in Wisdom: Trust God’s provision for every decision. (Neh 2:4-8)
How did God provide for Nehemiah? How did Nehemiah inform the king of his vision?
Remember: Nehemiah waited a long time for his vision to be complete!
Are you in tune with God’s vision for your life? Are you waiting patiently? Have you told God how you feel while you’re waiting? Are you fully trusting God to prepare you and provide for you?

Quote from CS Lewis: “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciousness, but shouts in our pains. It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” In other words: Pay attention to the tension inside of you.
Walking in Wisdom: Trust God’s provision for every decision. (Neh 2:4-8)

Day 2
Are you looking forward to getting back to normal? I know I am! Pastor Steven Trammell offers some steps to “Walk in Wisdom” this week as we navigate back to normal.
Scripture Passage: Nehemiah 2:1-8
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Walking in Wisdom: Practice self-control. (Neh. 2:1)
Why do we have such a hard time waiting?
What is God doing in your life right now while you wait?
Walking in Wisdom: Get real about how you feel. (Neh. 2:2-3)
Why was Nehemiah sad in the king’s presence? Why didn’t the king kick him out of the palace for his negative attitude?
Do you ever get sad? Do you let God know how you feel? Why not?
Are you actively looking for God’s vision for your life?
Remember: Sometimes God uses pain and suffering in our journey to bring us into something better than we could ever imagine. Pastor Trammell says this: “God doesn’t waste trauma. God doesn’t waste pain. God doesn’t waste delays in our lives. God uses them for our good and for His glory.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:
HOW TO CULTIVATE THE RHYTHM OF PRAYER: Devote yourself to scheduled prayer.
Is prayer a priority in your life?
Did the disciples devote time to prayer? Did Jesus?
Pastor Trammell offers this warning/advice: “Whatever gets your attention gets you.” What has your attention?
Are you praying every day? Not just a mealtime, but actual prayer…
Where should we pray? The Bible gives us some suggestions, but some of those aren’t possible in today’s society. Pastor Trammell offers his own advice.
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, or if you have a prayer request, text 281.688.2630 and follow the text prompts.

What is prayer? Pastor Trammell wants us to remember this: “You live in sync with the heartbeat of God through the rhythm of prayer.” Are you utilizing this amazing communication method with God on a regular basis?
Tim Keller wrote this in his book “Prayer”: “Prayer is the main way we experience deep change. Prayer is the way we finally treat God as God.”

Day 5
The Coronavirus couldn’t stop Easter!!
Pastor Stephen Trammell preached his Easter sermon from the pulpit of the North Klein CFBC campus. It’s been a year since the campus opened. The campus may have been empty this year, but that’s okay! So is the tomb! Praise God!
This week, Pastor Trammell reminds us that the one constant we can anchor our lives to is the faithfulness of God.
Scripture Passage: Mark 16:1-8

Questions/Issues Discussed:
The first thing you will see when you enter any of the four CFBC campuses are the words “Welcome Home”. Why is this an important message for everyone – not just visitors?
Pastor Trammell shares a story about the new North Klein CFBC Campus to close the sermon. Grab a tissue!!!
Final Thoughts:
The empty tomb is God’s ultimate evidence of faithfulness.
You can anchor your life to Him and He will never leave you.
The tomb is empty so your life doesn’t have to be.

Title: How to Grow Through What You’re Going Through
Topic: Vision 2020
Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 4
Like so many other
churches across our nation, CFBC has made the wise decision to
temporarily hold online services.
On March 15th Executive Pastor Stephen Trammell preached on “How to Grow Through What You’re Going Through”.
You can watch the full sermon
here.
Scripture Passage: Philippians 4:10-14
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What is keeping you from receiving the greatest gift of all time? Today, Pastor Trammell reminds us that before Jesus can become your source of strength, he must be your Savior and Lord. Have you made that commitment yet? If not, do it today! Use the link below for more information about
CFBC or text 281.688.2630.
Pastor Trammell also uses the most precious commodity on earth right now (next to toilet paper) as an example of how Jesus washes away our sins.

On March 15th Executive Pastor Stephen Trammell preached on “How to Grow Through What You’re Going Through”.
You can watch the full sermon

Scripture Passage: Philippians 4:10-14
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Pastor Trammell reminds us that it is just as important to claim this verse in troubled times as it is in wonderful times. He breaks down this short verse, showing us how emphasizing it in different ways changes our outlook.
Remember the time Jesus walked on the water? Do you have faith like Peter? You CAN do ALL things through CHRIST who STRENGTHENS YOU! Even when he took his eyes off of Jesus and he was sinking, he still called out to Jesus for help. Be like Peter.
Pastor Trammell closes the segment today with this: “Your level of contentment is directly related to your level of dependency on Christ.”

Part 4 Day 5
Pastor Stephen Trammel continues with the Vision 2020 sermon series, which is focusing on Paul’s love letter to the church from Philippians 2. This week, he will be in verses 14-18.
Did you make some New Year’s Resolutions? Are you sticking to them? Pastor Trammel will encourage us this week with “healthy habits to help us work out what God has worked in”.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Final Scripture:
1 John 1:5 “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
Final Thoughts:
Jesus filled the gap. He built the ultimate love bridge, living a sinless life. He died a sacrificial death to satisfy the wrath of God for your sin and for mine.
Ponder This:
What is keeping you from lighting your world? What needs to be adjusted, eliminated, or started for you to make a difference?

Title: Following Jesus
Topic: Series: Following Jesus
Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
Pastor Stephen Trammel is presenting the sermon this week. Pastor Trammel is the lead pastor at
Champion Forest Baptist Church North Klein Campus. He is opening up a NEW sermon series,
Following Jesus, which we will be following for the next few months. This week’s sermon is entitled: “Discipleship 101: From Faith to Following” using Mark 1: 16-20, when Jesus called the first disciples.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What does the word “disciple” mean to you?
Habit Number One: when moving from “faith to following”: Practice daily spiritual disciples.
Habit Number Two: Embrace moment by moment surrender to his Lordship. Listen as Pastor Trammel explains by using the analogy of Netflix and Chromecast.
Habit Number Three: Continue his ministry on Earth. You are pursued by God because you are important. You matter. You are unique. You are special. He chooses to love you. Will you love Him back?
If you have never accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, please don’t hesitate. You never know when your time will be to stand before God. Call Champion Forest Baptist Church at 281.440.3800 and speak to a licensed Christian counselor or pastor to make that decision today!

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Pastor Trammel tells a story from his youth that still resonates with him today. He was challenged to start having a daily quiet time and offers some helpful tips on how to implement that in our lives.
First, select a time; it doesn’t need to be in the morning.
Secondly, find a place a solitude where you can have uninterrupted time with God.
Thirdly, select a plan.
You will retain so much more information from God when you have a plan rather than just randomly selecting a Scripture passage from the Bible. Along with having a reading plan, Pastor Trammel recommends using a daily devotion.
Finally, Pastor Trammel offers two more suggestions: engage your walk with God through prayer and journal your journey.

Following Jesus, which we will be following for the next few months. This week’s sermon is entitled: “Discipleship 101: From Faith to Following” using Mark 1: 16-20, when Jesus called the first disciples.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Decisions to move from “Faith to Following”:
1) Place your faith in Jesus alone for salvation
2) Identify with Christ through baptism by immersion
Why do Baptists baptize by immersion? Was Jesus baptized the same way? What does it represent? Does baptism “save” you?
The final decision Christian must make to fulfill their calling “from faith to following” is to become a fully devoted follower of Christ. This does not mean attending church on Sunday morning. It requires spiritual growth and discipleship.
How can you employ these decisions in your life? Pastor Trammel has three HABITS to help you. The first: Practice daily spiritual disciplines.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Pastor Trammel concluded his segment yesterday by discussing the first of three decisions that will help you move from “faith to following”. The first decision is to place your faith in Jesus alone for salvation.
What happened in that moment – a divine transaction – when you realized your need for a Savior? Whatever you’ve done, or will do, Jesus has already conquered it! But, what does that mean? Listen as Pastor Trammel passionately explains by using his own personal salvation testimony.
The second decision that Pastor Trammel believes benefits Christians in their “faith to following” walk is: identify with Christ through baptism by immersion. This is a controversial topic among the different Christian denominations. Tune in tomorrow for more!

Title: Conflict Resolution
Topic: Series: The Gospel According to Matthew
Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
What one thing could keep you from following Jesus? Where is your dedication? Tune in next week as Pastor David Fleming returns with his sermon “The One More Thing” from the sermon series “The Gospel of Matthew”.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Pastor Trammell concludes his story about painting his house and ignoring his son. What happened next?
Sometimes our forgiveness to others come quickly. There are other times when we just get tired of extending that forgiveness to the same person over and over again. How should we respond in this situation? “Forgiveness can be immediate, but trust takes time,” he says. Listen as he explains.
Essential #1: Go one-on-one with private confrontation
Essential #2: Extend forgiveness
Essential #3: Forgiveness has an encore
Remember: Give yourself grace because God is the only one who can “forgive and forget”. Inevitably something will trigger the pain of your past, but you can control what becomes of that memory. Will you take control of it or let it control you?

Day 4
Stephen Trammell, the Lead Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church North Klein Campus, continues the series on “The Gospel of Matthew” with an outstanding sermon entitled: “Conflict Resolution”, focusing on Matthew Chapter 18.
This week’s sermon addresses a rather sensitive subject: strained relationships. Everyone has endured a strained relationship. They cause pain and heartache for all involved. However, as Pastor Trammell points out, we often only treat the symptoms of the pain without focusing on the root cause.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Pastor Trammell continues with The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant today. It’s a story we know well, but why did Jesus feel so strongly about the lesson to be learned from it?
What is forgiveness? A process. An event. Tune in tomorrow for the third!
Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping the other person will die. Pastor Trammell says: “The pain of unforgiveness becomes greater than the pain of their offense.”
Henry Blackaby once posed this question: “Would you want God to forgive you in the same way you presently are forgiving others?”
NOTE: Pastor Trammell’s story about his son, Austin, ends on a happy note. Check out the rest of the story tomorrow!

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why should we saturate ourselves in prayer when we have a conflict with a brother or sister in Christ?
What is the next step when the other person will not respond to your conversation to resolve a conflict?
Pastor Stephen Trammell reminds us that their lack of response is not a reflection on you. You have tried and now it is up to them to allow God to move in their heart. “God defines success with one word: obedience,” he states. “You can never go wrong doing right.”
Essential #2: Extend forgiveness. Sometimes this is very, very difficult – nearly impossible. Why should we offer forgiveness when the other person has no desire to make things right?
How many times did Jesus say to forgive another person? Is this number absolute or just a starting point?
Listen tomorrow as Pastor Trammell continues with The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant.
Pastor Trammell will be spending the next few days going into more detail, with more Biblical suggestions for conflict resolution.

“The ultimate goal is restoration and reconciliation, not attacks,” Pastor Trammell says. But what if someone tries to turn the conflict around to blame you? This is when you bring in another person to help resolve the conflict. If this still doesn’t resolve the problem, then the church body becomes involved. Strained relationships generate pain, which causes us to become self-absorbed. Everyone has a different response to the pain. What “should” our response be, though? Or, rather, “who” should our response be?

Get rid of your yokes – your burdens. Leave them on the floor and light them on fire! Now, take up the yoke of Jesus and allow him to fill you and wash you clean.
T: Treasure the relationship you have with Jesus Christ. Learn from him. It’s a journey. From The Message: “Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”
What would your schedule look like if Jesus was in charge of it? Is it hard for you to say “no”? Instead, say “yes to God’s best.”
Remember to: connect with God, nurture your relationships, love what you do, and have fun!
Finally, Pastor Trammel concludes the sermon with this quote from Wayne Cordeiro: “Your soul is like a battery that discharges each time you give life away.”

Do you take care of yourself first and others second? We often want to make sure everyone else is satisfied before we are. That’s just who we are. More importantly, though, is this question: Are you taking care of yourself SPIRITUALLY?
That is the focus of this week’s sermon on Matthew Chapter 11, “Soul Care”, presented by Pastor Stephen Trammel, the lead pastor at Champion Forest North Klein.

Day 5
Pastor Stephen Trammell serves as the Lead Pastor of the Champion Forest North Campus and continues
serving throughout the week at the main campus, including preaching in the Wednesday night service and occasionally on Sunday morning.
NOTE: This week’s sermon is from June 8, 2014, entitled “Maximizing God Moments” by Pastor Stephen Trammell.
When the lame man was healed, he didn’t just casually get up and walk around. He leapt! He shouted with joy! He told everyone what had happened! He didn’t try to hide it. Peter and
John were the blessing that man had been praying for.
Application: Don’t lose your leap. When you feel the lowest - when you feel you can’t possibly do any good for the Kingdom - that’s when you will be the biggest blessing! Don’t pass
up opportunities because they seem too hard or terrifying.
This week, take the leap and ask someone: “What’s your story?” You never know who just needs to talk. They may never know a better way until you are willing to listen.
If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, and would like more information about how to become a Christian, please call Champion Forest Baptist Church. They

contact?
I will admit that I do not give as much or as often as I can or should. Is it because I “know” they’ll just buy booze, drugs, or cigarettes? What if they really haven’t eaten in days? What if
they really do have three young children at home?
It shouldn’t matter what you think. It only matters what you do. Are you really in that much of a hurry to get to your next destination that you cannot spare one or two minutes to see
what that person really needs?
Sometime our greatest time of ministry is when we are in a hurry. Stop. Slow down. Your willingness to listen might be more valuable than any amount of money you could offer.
Peter and John could have just passed by the lame man – the beggar – and entered the temple. What a wonderful surprise it was to actually be recognized! Who will you recognize
today?
Listen in tomorrow to hear Essential #3 on “Maximizing God Moments” from Pastor Stephen Trammell.

Title: DEVOTED OR DISTRACTED - ACTS 3:1-10
Topic: Devoted or Distracted
Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 2
Pastor Stephen Trammell serves as the Lead Pastor of the Champion Forest North Campus and continues
serving throughout the week at the main campus, including preaching in the Wednesday night service and occasionally on Sunday morning.
NOTE: This week’s sermon is from June 8, 2014, entitled “Maximizing God Moments” by Pastor Stephen Trammell.
Peter and John were simply embracing their new identity in Christ when they went to the temple that day. They were living out the Christian life. It would have been so easy for them to
just pass by the lame man and go straight into the temple to worship, but they chose not to. They chose to “Maximize the God Moment”.
We exist in order to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ on Earth. You may be the only Jesus others see. What do they see? Does that thought make you cringe?
Essential #2: Look to see where God is at work. We are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Just look around you. You’ll find something to do – someone to bless.
If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, and would like more information about how to become a Christian, please call Champion Forest Baptist Church. They
would be more than willing to pray with you. Call (281) 440-3800.

God blesses us based on our obedience so we, in turn, can be a blessing to others. We meet people every day who are longing for hope – longing for a friend – longing for someone to just listen.
God specializes in orchestrating divine appointments. Will you seize them for the Glory of God?
Essential #1: Live in light of your identity in Christ. How do you view yourself? What motivates you? What do you focus on? What is the purpose of your life?
That’s a lot to chew on! Listen in this week for more essentials and how to “Maximize the God Moments”.

Day 5
Pastor Steven Trammell,
Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, continues his

Mark 10:35-45
The Request of James and John
35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to
him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”
36 “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
37 They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right
and the other at your left in your glory.”
38 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said.
“Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized
with?”
39 “We can,” they answered.
Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the
baptism I am baptized with, 40 but to sit at my
right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they
have been prepared.”
41 When the ten heard about this, they became
indignant with James and John. 42 Jesus called them
together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the
Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over
them. 43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to
become great among you must be your servant, 44 and
whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his
life as a ransom for many.”

Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 6
Pastor Steven Trammell,
Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, concludes his
sermon entitled “Identity: I Am A Soul Winner”.
1 Corinthians 3:1-9
The Church and Its Leaders
3 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who
live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ.
2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not
yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3
You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are
you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 4
For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not
mere human beings?
5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul?
Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each
his task. 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it,
but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the
one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes
things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who
waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own
labor. 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you
are God’s field, God’s building.

Title: (HOUSTON AREA ONLY) Identity: I Am Soul Winner
Topic: Identity: I am A Soul Winner
Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 1
Pastor Steven Trammell,
Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, begins his
sermon entitled “Identity: I Am Soul Winner”.
