Topic: Navigating a New Normal
Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
What has your life been like over the last few months? Do you feel like you’ve been in a deep sleep and suddenly you’re awake? This is what is happening in America right now! God has been waiting for Americans – specifically Christians – to wake up and bring our country back to Him.
What is your role to play?
This week, Pastor Stephen Trammell has four disciplines for us to follow to fulfill our role in revival and spiritual awakening. He will be using Nehemiah chapters 8-12.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Are you on the winning team? Do you have a Jesus Jersey?
Become a believer.
Follow Jesus every day.
Find a church home.
Find a small group.
Serve somewhere. Anywhere.
Don’t forget to give.
Be baptized.
FINAL THOUGHTS From Pastor Stephen Trammell
Commit to this (no matter what church you attend):
I will protect the unity of my church.
I will help to fulfill the mission of my church.
I will serve the ministry of my church.
I will support the testimony of my church.

Day 3
What has your life been like over the last few months? Do you feel like you’ve been in a deep sleep and suddenly you’re awake? This is what is happening in America right now! God has been waiting for Americans – specifically Christians – to wake up and bring our country back to Him.
What is your role to play?
This week, Pastor Stephen Trammell has four disciplines for us to follow to fulfill our role in revival and spiritual awakening. He will be using Nehemiah chapters 8-12.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Discipline #2: Repent of Known Sin Immediately (Neh. 9)
Are you running away from sin or toward it? Pastor Adrian Rogers once stated:
“Before I knew the Lord, I was running to sin and from Jesus. Now, in Christ, I am running to Jesus and from sin.”
Do you believe God is trying to wake us up? What are Christians waiting for?
Discipline #3: Recount God’s Faithfulness Regularly (Neh. 9)
When is the last time you thanked God?
Are you breathing? Yes? Thank God for that! He is not finished with you yet!
Are you still thankful to live in the United States of America? Thank God for that!
Pastor Trammell has a great suggestion for parents: Have your kids draw something they are thankful for this week. (Editor’s note: For older kids/adults: Write an essay or tell your family at the dinner table what you are thankful for.)

How can you elevate God’s Word in your life? Pastor Trammell has four suggestions…
Discipline #2: Repent of Known Sin Immediately (Neh. 9)
Did you know that Satan has a plan for your life, too? Yep – it’s true! His plan is for you to stop pursuing God. Don’t allow Satan’s plan to trump God’s plan.
In Nehemiah 9, how did the people prepare themselves for repentance?
Do you ever compare yourself to others in regards to spirituality? Do you think you’re better or worse than someone else? Why not just judge yourself?
Pastor Trammell says this: “Brokenness always precedes blessing.”

Pastor Stephen Trammell continues in Nehemiah as part of the series “Navigating Your New Normal” with chapters 3-7. Why should we live beyond our skin? Are we born selfish? Should we learn how to be inconvenienced for the sake of others? Read Nehemiah 4:17b-18a and listen to Pastor Trammell’s funny story about hair products when he was a kid…
What does “inverted injustice” mean? Pastor Trammell discusses this in more detail tomorrow…

What kinds of opposition did Nehemiah face? Are you facing opposition today? Conroe Pastor Alec Brunson offers hope and encouragement to us this week with Nehemiah 2:9-20.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Did you know that Nehemiah is written like an autobiography? It’s a short book that is fun to read! You learn a lot about the man and his life.
Summary of the book of Nehemiah:
Despite opposition God brought unity amongst His people around the work He had put in Nehemiah’s heart.
How can we apply this to our lives today?
We must be unified around our call to follow Jesus, the greater leader.
Why does God allow opposition in our lives? Pastor Brunson expands on this thought tomorrow, so make plans to tune in.

Scripture Passage: Nehemiah 2:1-8
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Have you asked this question during this time of Corona quarantine: How will this affect me? Are you allowing His vision to be completed?
Walking in Wisdom: Trust God’s provision for every decision. (Neh 2:4-8)
How did God provide for Nehemiah? How did Nehemiah inform the king of his vision?
Remember: Nehemiah waited a long time for his vision to be complete!
Are you in tune with God’s vision for your life? Are you waiting patiently? Have you told God how you feel while you’re waiting? Are you fully trusting God to prepare you and provide for you?
Pastor Andy Stanley: “God is using your circumstances to position and prepare you to accomplish His vision for your life.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:
What burden are you bearing? What pain are you experiencing? What is keeping you from experiencing the fullness of God?
Quote from CS Lewis: “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciousness, but shouts in our pains. It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” In other words: Pay attention to the tension inside of you.
Walking in Wisdom: Trust God’s provision for every decision. (Neh 2:4-8)

Day 2
Are you looking forward to getting back to normal? I know I am! Pastor Steven Trammell offers some steps to “Walk in Wisdom” this week as we navigate back to normal.
Scripture Passage: Nehemiah 2:1-8
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Walking in Wisdom: Practice self-control. (Neh. 2:1)
Why do we have such a hard time waiting?
What is God doing in your life right now while you wait?
Walking in Wisdom: Get real about how you feel. (Neh. 2:2-3)
Why was Nehemiah sad in the king’s presence? Why didn’t the king kick him out of the palace for his negative attitude?
Do you ever get sad? Do you let God know how you feel? Why not?
Are you actively looking for God’s vision for your life?
Remember: Sometimes God uses pain and suffering in our journey to bring us into something better than we could ever imagine. Pastor Trammell says this: “God doesn’t waste trauma. God doesn’t waste pain. God doesn’t waste delays in our lives. God uses them for our good and for His glory.”
