Title: Amazing Grace – Mary
Topic: Amazing Grace
Discussed by Dr. Stephen Trammell
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)

Part 5

Last week, Mark Lanier focused on God’s Amazing Grace through the eyes of Joseph (Matthew 1). This week, Pastor Steven Trammel uses Mary’s point of view.

Scripture Passage: Luke 1:26-38

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Are you being a “dispenser of God’s Amazing Grace”?

Has God given you a vision to further His Kingdom? What are you doing with that vision?

Dr. Charles Stanley once said: “God takes full responsibility for the life fully yielded to Him.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing. It is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Final Thoughts:
Be available
Be intentional
Be a recipient
Be a dispenser

Scripture Passage: Luke 1:26-38

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Pastor Trammel continues his story about his son Austin. What did God teach them all about his Amazing Grace through a tough situation?

How can you choose to go from “how can this be” to “let it be”? Just look at Mary’s faith! If she can, you can!

Part 3

Last week, Mark Lanier focused on God’s Amazing Grace through the eyes of Joseph (Matthew 1). This week, Pastor Steven Trammel uses Mary’s point of view.

Scripture Passage: Luke 1:26-38

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What was “God’s Amazing Grace Affirmation” to Mary? What were the two extremes God revealed to her?

Who is bringing God’s Amazing Grace Affirmation into your life? Have you thanked them? Who are you sending God’s Amazing Grace Affirmation to? Think of someone today you can send a text to or call on the phone.

Pastor Trammel recalls a pastor who had an impact on his life… He then continues to read from Luke chapter 1, with verses 37 through 38.

When did Mary go from “how can this be” to “let it be”? Have you made that transition yet?

Tune in tomorrow as Pastor Trammel continues his story about his son Austin…

Part 2

Last week, Mark Lanier focused on God’s Amazing Grace through the eyes of Joseph (Matthew 1). This week, Pastor Steven Trammel uses Mary’s point of view.

Scripture Passage: Luke 1:26-38

Questions/Issues Discussed:

When did Mary begin to understand just how important her baby was?

Have you ever asked God: “How can this be?” In other words: “God, how are You going to pull this off?

Pastor Trammel shares about his journey from Louisiana to Texas…

Sometimes life is great and the path is clear. Other times, life throws us a curveball. In Henry Blackaby’s “Seven Realities of Experiencing God”, he writes: “God’s invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action.” (Reality #5)

Do you believe God is still mighty enough to pull you through the midst? Pastor Trammel discusses God’s provision found in Luke 1:35.

If you’re lonely or depressed, His steadfast love endures forever. When you open a Christmas card, His steadfast love endures forever. When you’re eating dinner at a Christmas party, His steadfast love endures forever. When you have a tough day at work or school, His steadfast love endures forever. How long has the church been worshipping God?

How do the Jews celebrate the birth of Jesus? Is this similar or the same as the Jews at the time of Jesus? Mark uses Psalm 136, a responsive reading, as one explanation of an event of love. He will continue this on Tuesday…

Title: The Promised King is Here
Topic: Amazing Grace
Discussed by Pastor Steven Morris
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)

Part 5

Do you sometimes miss the bigger picture? The Christmas season often leaves us feeling tired and unsatisfied. Let’s change that this year!

Pastor Steven Morris begins a new sermon series this week: “Amazing Grace”. It’s time to change our focus from the things in front of us and focus on the bigger picture.

Scripture Passage: Matthew 1: 1-17

Questions/Issues Discussed:

When we look at the genealogy of Jesus, we may ask “Why them?” There are a lot of imperfect people on that list! But that’s exactly the point! God didn’t send His son for “perfect people” because there are none! Jesus came because He was needed. He came because of God’s Amazing Grace.

Why did Matthew break his pattern of “so and so the father of so and so” in verse 16? In this verse, he wrote: “Joseph, the husband of Mary”. Listen as Pastor Steven explains!

Scripture References:
Romans 5:8
John 1:12

FINAL THOUGHTS:
You have the right to be in the Family of God!
Slow down and focus on the bigger picture.
Take in the beauty of God’s amazing grace.

Pastor Steven continues to read from Matthew 1, the genealogy of Jesus. Why is it important to know the lineage of Jesus – who married whom and their children?

Were the people in Jesus’ genealogy perfect? Far from it!!! But… “Every name on the list is human,” Pastor Steven points out.

Why did Jesus come? God’s Amazing Grace!

Scripture References:
John 12:1
John 3:16

Does the genealogy of Jesus prove God’s plan and purpose for us today?

How does the genealogy prove that God loves ALL people?

What Matthew is saying is everything. It is life and death,” Pastor Steven reminds us.

Why did Matthew make a point of mentioning David and Abraham in the opening of his letter?

How does the Old Testament prophesy the birth of Jesus? More on Wednesday…

Why is Pastor Steven focusing on the genealogy of Jesus this week? Most people find this boring, but it isn’t! He finds it fascinating!

Why did Matthew give an announcement of the birth of Jesus? Who was Matthew writing to?

The Bible only has two other mentions of a genealogy. Where?
