Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Pastor Trammell reminds us that it is just as important to claim this verse in troubled times as it is in wonderful times. He breaks down this short verse, showing us how emphasizing it in different ways changes our outlook.
Remember the time Jesus walked on the water? Do you have faith like Peter? You CAN do ALL things through CHRIST who STRENGTHENS YOU! Even when he took his eyes off of Jesus and he was sinking, he still called out to Jesus for help. Be like Peter.
Pastor Trammell closes the segment today with this: “Your level of contentment is directly related to your level of dependency on Christ.”

How is it possible to treat others with gentleness when you are in the valley?
PATHWAY TO PEACE: Choose to go vertical with thankful prayer. (vs 6-7)
Are you a worrier? We all are to some extent; it’s human nature. But, how can you turn that worry/anxiousness to joy/rejoicing?
Did you know that in the New Testament, the word “anxious” can be both positive AND negative? Listen as Pastor Trammell explains using Philippians 2:20-21, 1 Corinthians 12:25, and Matthew 6:25ff.

Title: Come Together
Topic: Vision 2020

Day 5
Conflict is a real thing.
We have conflict at home, work, school, and even at church. What matters is how we deal with conflict. If we don’t deal with conflict, more conflict will come.
This week, Pastor Steven Morris uses Philippians 4:1-3 to help us navigate those stormy waters of conflict.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Three-Step Process to Help Others in Conflict:
1. Love them.
2. Talk to them and share Scripture.
3. Pray with them.
Why did Paul stress unity so much in his letters?
What is God calling you to do? Pastor Steven gives encouragement to us with Matthew 28, Acts 1:8, and 2 Timothy 2:2…
BONUS 4th Step: Stay on mission! This is the purpose of the church! Thank God for your church family this week – even through conflict.

This week, Pastor Steven Morris uses Philippians 4:1-3 to help us navigate those stormy waters of conflict.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Are you handling conflict in a Biblical manner? Pastor Morris reminds us of ways not to handle conflict…
HOW TO HANDLE CONFLICT: Bring People Together (vs 3)
Why did Paul use the word “help” here? FACT: This is the only time that Paul used the word help. It’s obviously important!
Why should we allow others to help us resolve conflict?
Why should we step in when we see conflict among believers?
Pastor Steven reminds us of Jesus’ own words from Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peace makers…” Follow his lead!
Three-Step Process to Help Others in Conflict:

This week, Pastor Steven Morris uses Philippians 4:1-3 to help us navigate those stormy waters of conflict.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
HOW TO HANDLE CONFLICT: Come Together 1-on-1 (vs 2)
Why did Paul call out two men in front of the church? Should we do the same today when there is conflict among believers?
Why is it important to not show favoritism when we are helping others resolve conflict?
Pastor Morris says this: “Don’t do the natural thing. Do the Biblical thing.”
OTHER WAYS TO HANDLE CONFLICT:
1. Thank about the other person and their needs.
2. Be humble.
3. Remember heaven is our home.
4. Work it out together.
WAYS NOT TO HANDLE CONFLICT:
1. Don’t gossip about it.
2. Don’t be too proud to resolve it.
3. Don’t run away from the problem.

Why did Paul write about joy so often?
Would people use the word “joyful” to describe you? Do you reflect God’s joy to the people around you?
How could Paul have so much joy in the midst of all the challenging circumstances he was experiencing?
Why is it important to be surrounded with other believers? Can they give us joy? Pastor Morris reminds us of Philippians 1:27…

Topic: Vision 2020
Discussed by Pastor Scott Riling
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
We’ve all heard the
phrase “Life is a marathon, not a sprint.” This is basically what Paul wrote in Philippians 3:12-16. What instructions does Paul give to Christians in his letter? Pastor Scott Riling offers four essentials this week to help us “Follow Jesus Everyday”.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
ESSENTIAL #4: Keep growing in this way of thinking. (vs 15-16)
The mind is where the battle of life takes place. What is your mind filled with?
Do you think you’ve wasted your life? First of all, you haven’t! Second, start now! Start new every day! “It’s how you finish, not how you started out!” – Pastor Scott Riling
FINAL THOUGHTS:
No matter where we are in our walk with Christ, we all need more!
The world is bombarding us with new this and new that. Even Christians are susceptible to trends. Paul warned us to go back to what we know: Jesus.
Reflection: Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Do you ever try to hide things from God or other people?
Do you ever act like things in your life are great?
This week, Pastor Steven Morris uses Philippians 3:1-10 from Paul’s letter to share how you can have joy and confidence in the Lord.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Pastor Scott offers a warning today: “If you cannot forgive yourself, you are essentially saying that you have a higher standard than Jesus.” Ouch! Think about it!
ESSENTIAL #3: Focus on where you want to be and not where you are. (vs 14)
What is the runner’s goal? Is it the start? The middle? Or the finish line? Remember who is at the finish line waiting for you! He is cheering you on!
ESSENTIAL #4: Keep growing in this way of thinking. (vs 15-16)
What is your attitude toward life? If you need a pick-me-up, read Romans 12:2.

Pastor Scott reads from 2 Corinthians 12:7-9. What was Paul’s “thorn in the flesh”?
Why do we beat ourselves up over past sins? Is this just Satan trying to tear us down and keep our eyes turned away from Christ?
