Title: Finding Rest
Topic: Health and Wellness
Discussed by Dr. Autumn Galbreath
with Christian Medical and Dental Association www.CMDA.org

The result of busyness is exhaustion, feeling overwhelmed, and sometimes even burnout. Jesus, whose every interaction was for the good of others, took time away from His work and His calling to rest. Even God rested after He spoke the world into being!

So, how much have YOU rested lately? Dr. Autumn Dawn Galbreath encourages you to not only get physical rest, but spiritual rest, too. Dr. Galbreath can be found here.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Does Dr. Autumn Galbreath rest enough?

Does she sometimes feel guilty for resting? “We feel guilty for taking a break from doing good,” Dr. Galbreath says. “But we don’t recognize the good that rest does.

Why do we need physical rest?

Why do we need spiritual rest?

Does God want us to schedule rest into our calendars?

Should we all reevaluate our commitments and find more time for physical rest and downtime?

Why is saying “NO” so important? Dr. Galbreath says: “I think it’s critical and empowering to remember that even though there are things for all of us that are not under our control, there are things that we can control.” That’s what we should be focusing on.
