Title: Parents Have the Right to Choose their Child’s Education Path
Topic: School Choice
Discussed by Reverend Dave Welch
with US Pastor Council (US Pastor Council)

Pastor Charles Johnson with Pastors for Texas Children once declared that the act of allowing parents access to their own money to choose the best educational environment is “sinful”.

Reverend Dave Welch, President of the US Pastor Council, disputes this claim wholeheartedly. In fact, Reverend Welch writes: “Children are a gift from the Lord according to Psalm 127:3 and parents are given primary duty before God to train up a child in His way, so they should not be forced into an atmosphere hostile to that charge as well as not even meeting basic academic needs.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Is the group Pastors for Texas Children really a front group for teacher unions? Reverend Dave Welch reveals who funds this group and warns Christians, especially church leaders, to ignore their suggestions.

Are public schools really “government” schools?

Should the state/government have a complete monopoly through forced taxation without parental freedom over the education of children? Reverend Welch gives a brief history lesson – something we all should know and remember. He also wonders why a school district in North Texas has been given nearly $100 MILLION for a new football stadium, but is begging for money for other areas. He says: “It’s not just a monopoly; it’s a conspiracy to control.”

Does a monopoly always produce inefficiency, waste, and cost more?

Are children being forced into an atmosphere hostile to the morals and values of their parents?

Have many pastors joined with the US Pastor Council working to empower parents through Universal Education Savings Accounts?

Do the majority of Texans oppose school choice?

Will school choice harm public education?

Mandy Drogin is the Campaign Director for Next Generation Texas within the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Mandy is one of the top education reform leaders in Texas with experience managing grassroots, marketing, election, and legislative campaigns.

Today, Mandy sets the record straight on myths being spread about School Choice and Education Savings Accounts. She says: “We have a problem. We have to put parents – regardless of their income or the street they live on – back in control of their child’s education.”

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Are Texans being subjected to the “gaslighting” technique by those who oppose school choice?

Will School Choice “defund” public education?

Will School Choice “destroy” public education?

Some say: “You cannot give public funds to a private institution (aka homeschool or private school).” Doesn’t the government do this on a daily basis with other programs?

How many students in public schools across Texas are on grade-level for math and English?

Title: Progressives Hate School Choice Until They Need It
Topic: School Choice
Discussed by Tony Kinnett
with The Daily Signal (www.dailysignal.com)

New guest Tony Kinnett is an investigative columnist for The Daily Signal. He is a former public-school teacher and is determined to expose the radical teachings and policies in public schools. Today, Tony discusses results from a recent poll  conducted by the American Federation for Children.

Click here for more from Tony Kinnett on this important topic.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What is the principle behind School Choice?

Many public education teachers, administrators, and lobbyists have their kids in a private school. Many elected officials send their kids to private schools, as well. Why do these parents fight so hard to keep other students in public school if they, themselves, are sending their kids to private school?

Do Americans support or oppose School Choice? Tony breaks down the numbers per race, political affiliation, income, and age, saying: “People want to send their kids where they can get a good education, not where the zip code says they have to go.”

What is the top argument from those who oppose School Choice?

Has the time come for School Choice? Tony says: “It’s already here…and it’s like a freight train.”

Every state in the nation permits some form of School Choice. Some states have the “School Voucher Program”, where the money allotted for each student is given to the parent to spend on whichever school setting they deem best. Have the public schools in those states crumbled and been dismantled?

Title: It’s Time Texas Students had a Choice
Topic: School Choice
Discussed by Mandy Drogin
with Texas Public Policy Foundation (www.TexasPolicy.com)

Hypocrites who have placed their kids in private schools while opposing school choice: Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, and Gavin Newsome just to name a few.

In addition: Nationally, more than 20% of public school teachers with school-age children enroll them in private schools.

Mandy is one of the top education reform leaders in Texas with experience managing grassroots, marketing, election, and legislative campaigns.

Click here for more information about Next Generation Texas at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

How many students across Texas are performing below grade level in many subjects?

Are more and more parents becoming engaged and seeking ways to help their students do better? Mandy reveals that each student enrolled in a public school across the state is allocated $16,000 per academic school year, yet only 35% of that is actually being spent on the students’ education.

Who opposes school choice and why? Do their objections hold water, evidenced by states that now allow school choice?

Governor Abbott hasn’t called another Special Session yet, but is expected to soon. Will school choice be on the docket?

Title: Empowering Parents Through Education Freedom
Topic: School Choice
Discussed by Mandy Drogin
with Texas Public Policy Foundation (www.TexasPolicy.com)

Part 1 of 2

Most Democrats cry for more money. Most parents cry for Education Freedom.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Are students across Texas performing at grade level in reading and math?

In a recent public hearing, did Representative Allen chastise parents for the adult illiteracy rate of 51% in Texas? Mandy discusses Representative Allen’s background and why she was so appalled at her condemnation of parents.

What is required to receive an “A” rating for a public school in Texas?

Does Representative Allen truly believe parents are unable to choose the education path for their own children? Do many who oppose Education Freedom also feel this way?

On average, how much does the state of Texas pay per student enrolled in public school? How much of that money actually goes to the teacher? THIS IS SHOCKING!

Topic: School Choice
Discussed by Mandy Drogin
with Texas Public Policy Foundation (www.TexasPolicy.com)

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Are parents fighting back against the education establishment? Mandy passionately discusses what happened during the most recent Legislative Session, specifically HB100.

Did the teacher unions, school board presidents, and school board members vote to raise teacher pay? HINT: NOPE! Mandy says: “It’s about control… and that includes controlling teachers.”

LISTEN IN HERE AS MANDY DROGIN REVEALS JUST HOW MUCH MONEY SUPERINTENDENTS IN TEXAS MAKE! THIS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!

Why are so many opposed to allowing parents Education Freedom for their children?

Have there been attempts to compromise and negotiate to get teachers more money while also giving parents Education Freedom?

What is the current status of HB100? Will Governor Abbott call for a Special Session to address Education Freedom?

Title: Why School Choice?
Topic: School Choice
Discussed by Ginny Gentles
with Independent Women’s Forum (www.IWF.org)

COVID-19 revealed many issues with the public education system in America. More and more parents are choosing to either home-educate or move their child/children to private schools. Should funding follow the student or the inadequate, failed systems?

Ginny Gentles is the Director of the Education Freedom Center at the Independent Women’s Forum. Ginny is a former state and federal education policy leader. Today she discusses failing US student test scores, radicalized lesson plans, and the importance of school choice for all.

Click here to read the latest op-ed from Ginny Gentles on this topic.

Click here for more about Ginny Gentles.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why does Ginny advocate for school choice?

Are current US test scores sobering? Ginny reveals some startling information…

Is locking all students into a failing system a travesty? Ginny believes it has been a travesty for decades, especially for children with learning and physical differences who would benefit greatly from a localized learning environment.

Can the failed system make a positive and successful come-back?

Are public schools too focused on divisive content and activist-drafted lesson plans? Ginny urges parents to help teachers who do not agree with these radical agendas to fight back against the woke education crowd.

Until the system is turned around, should more parents consider alternatives to public education?

Title: Part 3 of 3 - A Big Blue Lie about School Vouchers
Topic: School Choice
Discussed by Dr. Keri Ingraham
with Discovery Institute (www.discovery.org)

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Are parents and/or students permitted to use government money for Head Start Pre-School programs and college Pell Grants any way they choose? If so, why aren’t they allowed to do the same for K-12 education?

Is school choice, through the use of vouchers, working anywhere in America? Dr. Ingraham reveals that 32 states, in addition to WDC, allow school choice through vouchers and students are thriving!

Many on the Left claim that proponents of school choice are trying to defund public schools. Will this happen? Or is this just one of the Left’s gaslighting attempts?

Another claim by the Left is that school choice will actually rob students of a quality education. Is this true?

Do the majority of Americans support school choice? Dr. Ingraham shares some statistics from voters…

Is the current state of public education stealing the future from our children and nation? Dr. Ingraham says: “We need more people to stand up and get involved…for moral integrity.”
