Scripture Passage: Philippians 2:12-18

Questions/Issues Discussed:

WE ARE CALLED TO BE LIGHT IN A DARK WORLD

Do people see the difference in you? Do you have joy in every circumstance? Probably not! But you can! Remember Paul was in prison, chained to a guard, and he still gave God the glory!

WE ARE CALLED TO HOLD ON TO THE WORD

What does God’s Word say about sanctification? Mike challenges everyone to read the Shammah in Deuteronomy 6 and really live it! He then uses an illustration of rock climbing…

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HOLD FAST TO THE WORD OF GOD?

Your faith grows (Romans 10:17)
You experience real life (Matthew 4:4; John 10:10)
You experience lasting joy (John 15:11)

Questions/Issues Discussed:

WE ARE CALLED TO WALK WORTHY

Are you walking worthy of the Gospel? Mike references Philippians 1:27 and Matthew 20:26-28

IIn Philippians 2:12-18, what is Paul talking about? Who is he talking to?

In verse 13, what does Paul mean when he writes “to work for His good pleasure”?

In verse 15, Paul writes about “a crooked and twisted generation”. Wow! Sounds a lot like today, doesn’t it? In fact, Mike says that churches in England are like museums. No one is there! Tune in tomorrow as he offers more somber statistics about Christianity in Europe – or rather the lack of Christianity in Europe.
