Title: Is a Revival Possible in the Midst of Disobedience?
Topic: Christian Responsibilities
Discussed by Reverend Dave Welch
with US Pastor Council (US Pastor Council)

Dave Welch, President of the US Pastor Council, recently wrote a compelling editorial  urging Christ-followers to stop being complacent and stop ignoring the blatant sin in our country. He wrote: “It’s not politics; it’s ministry!”

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Is the cry for revival widespread?

Do sins hide the face of God from His people? Dave reminds us that God does not require sacrifice from us, but obedience. He also urges us, as Christ-followers, to unite to bring our country back to God.

Is the Church deaf, blind, and/or silent to the evil permeating our society, our communities, and our homes?

Do the elected leaders of Houston reflect the values of Christ? Dave quotes Micah 6:8, saying: “When we accommodate sin, we accommodate evil… and our position as a nation is a deep reflection of the ineffectiveness of the Church to bring transformation in Christ’s name to the culture around us.”

When it comes to elections, are Christ-followers content to vote for the lesser of two evils?

Is it time for Christ-followers to take a stand for righteousness and holiness?

In Dave’s opinion, why don’t more godly men and women run for political office? Dave Welch urges people to listen for God’s voice and direction and to be obedient to the call of public office.

Title: A Christian’s Responsibility at a Time Like This
Topic: Christian Responsibilities
Discussed by Tony Perkins
with Family Research Council (www.FRC.org)

Part 1 of 3

Does the church still have influence? CAN the church still have influence?

Do too many Christians vote and then walk away, forgetting they are called to be involved? Do too many Christians not vote at all?

Pastor Jack Hibbs is with Calvary Church in Chino Hills, CA. He recently had Tony Perkins as a guest in the pulpit to discuss “A Christian’s Responsibility at a Time Like This.” Pastor Jack opens the first segment today discussing the seven letters from Jesus, the four Gospels, the history of the church, and the formation of American history. There is one common thread: The influence of the church for righteousness.

NOTE: With permission, we have edited the sermon/interview for airing purposes.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

As Christians in the United States, what should our stewardship look like when it comes to the institution of government?

Tony Perkins responds with Scripture supporting the fact that we are called to be good stewards of our children, finances, and faith. Why not government? Listen as he expands on this…

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why has the Christian community retreated from influencing its culture? Tony has one word for this: Fear.

What would Tony say to people who don’t discuss religion or politics? He says he refuses to talk about sports and the weather! Why?

Pastor Jack points out: “You do understand that the political side of things – good, bad, or ugly – they have no qualms about getting involved in your life; they’ll come after you!” He also reminds us of the Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25:14-30.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

What is Tony Perkins’ opinion of President Trump’s leadership style and the ability to get things done? Tony’s response: “Trump is God’s instrument for this moment.” Listen as he explains this statement, reminding us that we are commanded to pray for our leaders – no matter who they are.

NOTE: For the five-page list of President Trump’s proven accomplishments, text “ACTIONS” to 51555.

What is at stake in the 2020 Primaries and the General Presidential Election? Again, Tony has one word in response: Freedom.

What kind of spiritual warfare are true Christians facing in Washington, DC? Tony again reiterates how important it is for us to be praying for our leaders.

What will happen to America if President Trump is not reelected? Tony encourages us to simply trust God and not abandon our call to be salt and light.
