Title: The Medical Care Revolution: More Choices. Not More Taxes.
Topic: Obamacare: What Next?
Discussed by Dr. Marilyn Singleton
with Dr. Marilyn Singleton (MarilynSingletonMDJD.com)

Medical care/insurance has became the single-most important policy topic since the 2018 midterm elections. Dr. Marilyn Singleton, President of the AAPS, is aware that many people have questions that need answers, which she will provide today.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Recently, Paris was in flames over a fuel tax increase that would pile 30 cents onto the $7.06 per gallon price paid by citizens. Why don’t Americans exhibit the same outrage over the ever-increasing monthly medical care premium costs?

Scenario for Dr. Singleton: A family gets 20 miles per gallon driven and drives about 2,000 miles per month. A 30 cent per gallon tax increase would be about $30. How many of our families listening right now would gladly pay just a $30 per month increase in the health insurance premiums?

What is the answer for millions of Americans who still need help with high medical insurance costs? Dr. Singleton offers several options…

What can – and should – be done during the next session of Congress to address the high cost of medical care in America?

Do voters blame Republicans for the increased costs of their monthly premiums?

Title: UPDATE: What’s UP with Healthcare?
Topic: Obamacare: What Next?
Discussed by David Christensen
with Family Research Council (www.FRC.org)

No one has ever accused the Senate of efficiency, and the Obamacare repeal is no exception. Why can’t they get it together?

David Christensen, with the Family Research Council, will be discussing Senator Mitch McConnell’s job, Planned Parenthood, and other healthcare information in this segment today.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why should we be praying for Senator Mitch McConnell?

The US House of Representatives passed an Obamacare replacement bill and sent it to the US Senate.
David Christensen is hopeful for a positive outcome in the Senate. Listen closely as he explains what is happening now with the new healthcare bill.

Is defunding of Planned Parenthood a deal-breaker for Senator Collins from Maine?

Are there other ways to uncouple Planned Parenthood from taxpayer dollars?

Title: Obamacare a Major Bust
Topic: Obamacare: What Next?
Discussed by Ed Haislmaier
with The Heritage Foundation (www.Heritage.org)

UnitedHealthcare recently revealed a nearly $1 BILLION LOSS dealing with Obamacare exchanges. But, wait a minute! Didn’t they love, love, love it? Didn’t they think it was the greatest thing EVER?

Ed Haislmaier is an expert in Health Care Policy and Markets at The Heritage Foundation. He is frequently asked to help lawmakers design and draft specific reforms to the health system. Ed has also developed innovative strategies for states to create consumer-centered health insurance markets by using their authority to regulate insurance.

Concerning UHC, Ed says, “Sometimes big corporations don’t understand what they’re getting into and sometimes the big ones get their heads handed to them by the smaller ones.” In 2014, UHC began Obamacare exchanges in only four states; they expanded to twenty-three states in 2015 and to thirty-four states in 2016. Now, they are suddenly pulling out of twenty-two states. “They didn’t really understand that [Obamacare] is a different market than what they were used to dealing with,” Ed states. Listen in as he explains the difference between the before and after of Obamacare with UHC and other insurance companies.

Will Obamacare crumble with a new President, especially if a Republican wins? Ed Haislmaier believes one of two outcomes are possible:
1) If a change in Party occurs in the Presidency, there will possibly be a change in the Party of Congress as well. Therefore, Obamacare will probably be repealed or implode altogether.

2) If no change is made to Congress, there might be some changes over a few years, with a gradual decline, but it might pick up again.

However, he does believe that either way, Obamacare will become a “cross between Medicaid and a high risk pool”. That is definitely not a positive outcome at all.

Ed Haislmaier also discusses how the Democrats have consistently fought against the small business owner and the family in regards to healthcare coverage. “They think of this as an income-redistribution program,” Ed boldly states. “They micro-managed the subsidies and based them on income and family size in a way that is almost impossible to predict was the real subsidy is.” Listen in as he explains this in further detail. He also explains the income threshold under Obamacare and why it absolutely does not make sense.

Title: Obamacare: Repeal or Repair
Topic: Obamacare: What Next?
Discussed by Phil Kerpen
with American Commitment (AmericanCommitment.org)

Part 1 of 3

Americans cannot wait two more years for a “fix” for Obamacare. Hope and change is now misery and anger. Phil Kerpen says that if our government cannot even find a fix for the economy, we cannot expect them to fix our healthcare system. Well, at the least the current leaders can’t….

Polls are proving that the American people want a new, different method of providing affordable and reliable healthcare. They also no longer believe that it is the government’s responsibility to provide healthcare coverage for everyone. More importantly, the polls show that Americans are more distrustful of the government than ever before.

Phil Kerpen, the President of American Commitment, says that the solution is not a different government-run, universal healthcare program. Listen in to find out what Phil has to say.

Title: Part 2 of 3 - Obamacare: Repeal or Repair
Topic: Obamacare: What Next?
Discussed by Phil Kerpen
with American Commitment (AmericanCommitment.org)

Obamacare was sold to the people with a promise that everyone would have healthcare coverage. What so many heard from this statement was that every American deserved healthcare coverage. However, before Obamacare, every American – and even illegals – already had access to healthcare, especially emergency care. This has been the law of the land since the Reagan administration. Everyone, regardless of ability to pay or legal status, could receive medical care.

Yes, healthcare coverage and access to healthcare are two different things, but they are also related. Once upon a time, America had the best healthcare system in the world. But since Obamacare came into the picture, that is no longer the case.

Listen in as Phil Kerpen explains.

Title: Part 3 of 3 - Obamacare: Repeal or Repair
Topic: Obamacare: What Next?
Discussed by Phil Kerpen
with American Commitment (AmericanCommitment.org)

Allowing the government to pick the winners and the losers regarding who receives what health service is not the way to go. That is what Obamacare is all about, folks. A small group of men and women, with no healthcare expertise whatsoever, decides who is worthy and who is just flat outta luck. Oops – you’re too old for a knee replacement. Denied. Oops – you’re too young for a kidney transplant. Denied.

In this final segment with Phil Kerpen, he shares his solution to the Obamacare situation. His main goal is to see the whole thing completely repealed, although he doesn’t think that is feasible any time soon.

In the meantime, Phil says that people should be offered more options through employer provided healthcare plans, not just a one-size-fits-all plan. He also wants to see the mandates repealed – if you want it, buy it; if you don’t want it, don’t buy it.

Listen in as Phil gives more options for the American people, specifically for better quality care, not just care for all. For more information on Obamacare, log on to www.AmericanCommitment.org.

Title: The Voters Remembered: Read My Lips “No New Taxes”.
Topic: Obamacare: What Next?
Discussed by Phil Kerpen
with American Commitment (AmericanCommitment.org)

Part 1 of 2

The American public is finally awakening to see the Obamacare train wreck become derailed.

On September 26, 2013, Obama stated: “Delay the law – that’s not going to happen as long as I’m President.” Yet, he has - thirteen times to be exact. Thank goodness, too! Let’s delay it indefinitely!

Listen in as Phil Kerpen, the President of the American Commitment, discusses.

Discussed by Phil Kerpen
with American Commitment (AmericanCommitment.org)

The House recently passed a bill which would delay the individual mandate with overwhelming support. The President immediately promised to veto the bill. Then did a 180 and announced this thirteenth “delay”.

Although we are glad he keeps lying about his promise to stop the delays on Obamacare, we really wish he would get it over with and just veto the whole thing.

Title: If the U. S. Supreme Court Rules Obamacare Unconstitutional, Then What?
Topic: Obamacare: What Next?
Discussed by Professor Robert Natelson
with Professor Robert Natelson (www.ArticleVInfocenter.com)

One of America’s best-know constitutional scholars, Professor Robert G. Natelson, joins us today discussing:

1. How might the U. S. Supreme Court rule?

2. If Obamacare is ruled as being unconstitutional, then what?

3. What is the goal: better care, for more Americans and with affordable costs?

4. Do Republicans have workable alternatives?

5. Is national medical tort reform a workable solution, even though national medical tort reform legislation will usurp State’s rights – the 10th Amendment comes into play here?
