Title: Integrating Faith in the Workplace
Topic: Faith in the Workplace
Discussed by Katy Vanderkwaak
with Institute on Religion and Democracy www.theIRD.org

Part 1 of 2

The Lord reminds us throughout Scripture that work is important. We are called to do all of our work for the glory of the Lord. But living solely for the Lord and continually striving for excellence in our jobs can be difficult.

Katy Vanderkwaak is an intern with the Institute on Religion and Democracy. She is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama. You can read her article, “Integrating Faith in the Workplace here

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Are we reminded in Scripture that work is important? Terry references Colossians 3:23-24…

Is there a disconnect from what we might learn on Sunday and how we approach life on Monday?

Listen as Katy offers some advice on how to bring glory to the Lord while you are working Monday through Friday (or whatever your work schedule is).

Should we be determined that others see the image of God in our work?

Listen as Terry shares how he is presented with opportunities to witness to people through his job as a radio station manager…

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Integrating Faith in the Workplace
Topic: Faith in the Workplace
Discussed by Katy Vanderkwaak
with Institute on Religion and Democracy www.theIRD.org

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Barna recently conducted a survey  of Christians and how they view their work/career. Listen as Katy discusses this survey and the results…

Do the majority of Christians feel like they have God-given skills and talents they can use to glorify God and serve others outside the workplace? Why not inside the workplace?

Millennials are very “others-focused” – and this is a good thing! How is Katy personally using this as motivation in her career at the IRD?

What/who are integrators?

Should our actions speak louder than our words?
