Title: Monopolies cost too much, produce too little, are too slothful and wasteful, and ...
Topic: Education: spending and taxes
Discussed by Dr. Byron Schlomach
with Texas Public Policy Foundation (www.TexasPolicy.com)

Dr. Schlomach details what it costs to educate a student from K through 12th grade. When you factor in costs for those who do not graduate, HISD spends over $166,000 per graduate. Less than half of all dollars spent on education make it to the classroom. Dr. Schlomack shares an Economics 101 lesson with us: monopolies cost too much, produce too little, are slothful and wasteful and are constantly seeking more protection from competition and always cry for more money.
