Yesterday, Mark discussed the attack against King Sisera and his ultimate death at the hand of Jael found in Judges 4.
NARRATIVE EXPLANATION #2: Judges 5
When Deborah and Barak attacked King Sisera in the valley, what happened to the river?
How is Jael described in this version of the attack?
How is King Sisera’s death described? Is this more brutal than the Judges 4 version?
POINTS FOR HOME:
God uses unexpected deliverers. Mark discusses the significance of continuing Martin Luther King, Jr’s dream of unity.
God uses the everyday stuff. (Judges 4:21) Mark reminds us that not all miracles are big, catching everyone’s attention. Miracles happen every day to ordinary people like you and me.

What was the outcome of their “outing” (i.e. attack) on the people in the valley?
What is the significance of the valley, the river, and farmland in this attack?
Did King Sisera, with all his might and vast army, win or lose? NOTE: This is where Jael enters the story!
NARRATIVE EXPLANATION #1: Judges 4
Did King Sisera think Jael would help him?
What did Jael do when King Sisera entered her tent? Remember Mark mentioning the power of MILK in the first segment on Monday of this week? This is where the significance is explained!

Pastor David reminds us that even if you were the only person who needed saving, God STILL would have sent His son, Jesus, to die for you! Amen!
After Paul was released from prison, where did he go? Who did he leave behind to teach others about Christ? How did Lydia’s testimony affect others?
Who has been saved because YOU shared the love and truth of the Gospel with others? You may never know!
