Title: Abortion and the Bible
Topic: Abortion and the Bible
Discussed by Dr. Dave Miller
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)

Since 1973, when the Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand, some forty-three million babies have been slaughtered in America.

What does the Bible say about abortion?

Dr. Dave Miller is the Executive Director of Apologetics Press. He is the author of several books, including “The Quran Unveiled”, “Sexual Anarchy”, “Piloting the Strait”, “The Silencing of God, Christ and the Continental Congress”, “Why People Suffer”, and a series of books that teach children how to read.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Do a significant number of Americans consider abortion to be acceptable? And if so, why?

Is abortion a political issue or a moral, Biblical issue? Should preachers talk about abortion in the pulpit?

Does the Bible talk indirectly about abortion as an “injury to a baby in the womb”?

The course of the American Culture has changed drastically over the past forty years. Does Dr. Miller believe God approves of the changes?

Is the ultimate solution to every moral issue a genuine New Testament soul-saving experience? Is this the objective standard of the Bible?

Title: Does the Bible Condone Abortion?
Topic: Abortion and the Bible
Discussed by Kyle Butt
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)

Part 1 of 2

While it is true that the Bible never specifically mentions the word “abortion”, does it reference the act? Kyle Butt, author and co-author of twenty-eight books, has some answers! Kyle has served with Apologetics Press for over sixteen years. He is also the editor of the AP’s children publication “Discovery”.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Do skeptics claim that the verses in Numbers 5:11-22 prove that the God of the Old Testament condones abortion?

Does the NIV improperly translate the terms used by the original writer of Numbers?

The term that the NIV translated “womb” is yarek. This word actually means “thigh, loin, side, or base.” Can the word/term be used to describe both males and females?

How do these verses differ in the KJV, NKJV, ESV, and ASV?

Do any of these words reference miscarriage or abortion?

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Does the Bible Condone Abortion?
Topic: Abortion and the Bible
Discussed by Kyle Butt
with Apologetics Press (www.apologeticspress.org)

Questions/Issues Discussed:

In the scripture passage, there are no witnesses – only a jealous husband. Short of the wife confessing, can only the all-knowing God manifest the woman’s guilt or innocence?

Could the water actually cause an abortion/miscarriage? Kyle thinks this is laughable! Listen as he explains…

Why do we need to be careful about the Biblical translation we read from and reference?

You can read more about this and other Biblical truths here.
