Title: Reversing the Male and Female Switch
Topic: Gender Dysphoria
Discussed by Peter Sprigg
with Family Research Council (www.FRC.org)

Part 1 of 3

Disclaimer: Use caution when listening to this segment around young children. Issues discussed might be upsetting or hard for little ones to understand.

Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic is not your normal physician. He came to fame more than two decades ago, making a name for himself as one of the world's premiere genital reconstruction surgeons. After years of helping men and women transition into a body they weren't born with, he's started to realize something: the procedure called sex reassignment surgery isn't making patients happy.

Peter Sprigg has the details….

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why has Dr. Djordjevic changed his tune about sex reassignment surgery?

What has Peter Sprigg discovered in his own research on this issue?

Do many people who identify as transgender have mental health issues?

If the other mental health issues are addressed, will the gender dysphoria disappear?

Is the medical community too afraid of the transgender lobby to properly and scientifically study the attempted suicide rate?

Is peer pressure a factor when young people “decide” they are transgender?

Title: Is Gender Reassignment Surgery Medically Necessary?
Topic: Gender Dysphoria
Discussed by Peter Sprigg
with Family Research Council (www.FRC.org)

Part 1 of 2

Disclaimer: Use caution when listening to this segment around young children. Issues discussed might be upsetting or hard for little ones to understand.

According to the American Psychiatric Association, “transgender” individuals are those “who transiently or permanently identify with a gender different from their natal gender.” The fundamental goal of the transgender movement is for those who identify as transgender to be fully accepted in the social role of the gender they choose to identify with, regardless of their actual biological sex.

Peter Sprigg is a Senior Fellow for Policy Studies at the Family Research Council  in Washington, D.C.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why is the medical community now referring to sex change procedures as gender reassignment surgery?

What does medically necessary mean?

What is the difference between cosmetic and elective surgery?

Is there a difference in approval procedures whether the payee will be private insurance or Medicaid?

Are there studies that show the negative results of gender reassignment surgery? Peter Sprigg offers some very shocking information. Listen in!

Are suicide rates higher for people who have received gender reassignment surgery?

Aren’t doctors required to “do no harm”? How can they perform gender reassignment surgery if the patient is at risk, mentally, physically, and emotionally?

Title: In Defense of Healthy Children
Topic: Gender Dysphoria
Discussed by Anne Foster
with Christian Medical and Dental Association www.CMDA.org

Part 1 of 2

New guest Anne Foster serves as the Government Relations Fellow for the Christian Medical Association’s Washington D.C. office. Today, Anne will be discussing her recent article, “ In Defense of Healthy Children: Recent Papers Expose the Truths about Dangerous Gender Dysphoria Treatments”.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Imagine this scenario: You walk into a doctor’s office with your child who isn’t feeling right. The doctor proposes two treatments: one has a 95% chance of success and the other increases the risk of death by 41%. Which would you choose?

With no outside influences such as drug hormones or therapy, how many children who identify as the opposite sex “grow out of it” in adulthood?

Should physicians fear telling a patient or parent “No”?

Should a parent fear upsetting their child by telling them “No”?
