Title: Religious Man Mistaken for KKK Member – Chaos Ensues
Topic: College Campus Tolerance Lacking
Discussed by Dr. Paul Kengor
with The Institute for Faith and Freedom (www.FaithAndFreedom.com)

Guest Dr. Paul Kengor, with the Center for Vision and Values, writes:Students at Indiana University-Bloomington recently went into panic mode at the sight of a Dominican friar, who they mistook for a Ku Klux Klan member. Funny? Yes, but also sad. It is a further sign of the state of our universities, and what is and isn’t being taught…The Dominicans far pre-date the American university. Not unrelated, our universities once taught what we commonly call ‘Western Civ’ or ‘Western Civilization’ where students learned the elemental facts of their Western world and where contemporary campus oddities like religious figures were not alien to their mind’s eye.

Not only did the students think this very religious man was a KKK clansman, they also tweeted that he had a WHIP! Of course, it was more likely just his rosary or belt, but it was tweeted and it is on the internet, so it must be true, right?

Dr. Kengor goes on to explain some history of the Dominican Friars, who are celebrating their 800th anniversary of existence. But none of these students know anything about them because they take feminism courses on human sexuality! Very few colleges and universities even require students to take humanities or Western Civilization classes. In fact, students at Stanford recently voted 6-to-1 to reject courses on Western Civilization. BUT Stanford DOES offer a course “transgender studies” or “gay autobiography”. Seems logical.

Dr. Kengor criticizes parents who send their children to these liberal arts colleges. In fact, he says, “I hold you at fault for this. You’re paying a fortune for this kind of ignorance.” He encourages parents to heed this warning: “Just because the college you might have in mind is Christian doesn’t mean it’s still ‘Christian’.” Listen in as he explains this statement further.

Title: Minority Students Need to Stop Playing the Victim
Topic: College Campus Tolerance Lacking
Discussed by Andrew Kloster
with The Heritage Foundation (www.Heritage.org)

Part 1 of 2

Well, it appears that a lot of college kids really are spoiled little brats. Not all, but some, especially those who are considered to be in a minority affiliation. This time, again, black college students are feeling threatened by the Constitution, specifically the First Amendment.

Andrew Kloster is a legal fellow in the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation. He focuses his attention on civil rights, the role of Federal courts, and other Constitutional issues. Andrew is here to discuss the black Missouri students’ demands of “My Way of the Highway”. A university professor was also involved in the uproar and ultimately encouraged assault on several journalists who were taking photographs and attempting to interview some of the protestors. Note: This professor resigned after a troubling video of her surfaced, so that’s a plus!

Listen in as Andrew Kloster explains what the “rule of law” means, how it applies to everyone, and what is actually going on in Missouri. Don’t miss the next segment with Andrew as he discusses Lady Justice.

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Minority Students Need to Stop Playing the Victim
Topic: College Campus Tolerance Lacking

Lady Justice is a symbol of hope and freedom for all; she offers the assurance that all Americans receive the same treatment, no matter their race, sex, religion, or age may be. Some people just don’t see it that way, though. They will always – always – think they are being unfairly treated.

Higher Education has always been a place where students are challenged. They have always received controversial information which makes them think. Some may change their opinion on an issue due to these debates; others push back harder for their belief to be accepted. Many colleges now have a place where students can release their frustration. These places are called “Safe Spaces”. They won’t get their feelings hurt. They won’t have to worry about feeling oppressed. They can color and meditate and act like children.

Andrew Kloster continues to discuss the situation in Missouri where black minority students, including many on the football team, felt threatened and staged a protest and hunger strike in order to force the President of the university to resign. Well, their ploy worked; the President resigned, but they have not stopped their whining.

In Missouri, the protesting students won’t allow reporters on campus because they feel threatened by them! New Flash Kiddos: You do not make the demands; the law does. Listen in as Andrew explains the law and offers his opinion on the issue.

Title: What Happened to Tolerance On College Campuses
Topic: College Campus Tolerance Lacking
Discussed by Phyllis Schlafly
with Eagle Forum (www.eagleforum.org)

College life today is vastly different than what we experienced in the 60’s, 70’s, and even 80’s. Sure there might have been some partying and drinking, maybe some other “things”, but in the classroom we were still taught reading, writing, arithmetic, history, and science. Years ago, the liberals shouted “Free Speech! Free Speech!” Now, they want to suppress every person or organization who disagrees with their leftist ideals. Now, according to the President of Eagle Forum, Phyllis Schlafly, students are “sheltered” because a topic might be “too scary” for them to handle. Listen in as she describes “safe room” for these students.

Phyllis also discusses the recent report about several college students who were “offended” by the appearance of the American Flag on campus. Give me break, folks! This is America! Then there is “white privilege” or “wealth privilege”. Oh – but wait! There’s more! Listen as Phyllis talks about the whiny 20 year olds who get their feelings hurt when a professor marked on their paper!

Fun Note: You might not know this about Mrs. Schlafly, but this sweet lady worked her way through college, working 48 hours a week test-firing 30 and 50 caliber bullets during WWII!

Phyllis Schlafly’s report on this topic can be found [here].
