Title: Register Your Spouse, Teenager, or Parent Living With You.
Topic: Voter Registration
Discussed by Mike Sullivan
with Harris County Tax Office (www.tax.co.harris.tx.us)
The Tax
Assessor-Collector’s office is also in charge of voter registration. If you have
moved but haven’t changed your voter registration information, your vote might
not count! With the election coming up in November, time is running out to
update your address.
Also discussed in this segment with Mike Sullivan is who can register to vote.
Did you know you can register your spouse to vote? Did you know that, as a
parent, you can register your children over the age of 17 and 10 months, as long
as they live in your house? Did you know that you, as a child over the age of
18, can register your parents to vote, as long as they live in your house? Yes,
yes, and yes!
“But I don’t want to be called to jury duty!” This used to be the case,
but not anymore. If you have a valid Texas Driver’s License, you can be called
to serve on a jury! So, why not go ahead and register to vote, as well? It makes
sense! Plus, you’ll finally be able to justify all your rants on Facebook and
Twitter about how the government is messing up our country.
It’s easy to register to vote or change your name or address! Log on to
www.TerryLowry.com and use the
link at the top of the home page to update your information. The voter
registration link is applicable to any person living in the state of Texas (it
is not limited to Harris County Residents).
If you are 18 years old and never voted before, Mike Sullivan and Terry Lowry
have a proposal for you: Take a picture of you voting for the first time and
email it to Mike using his email with the HC Tax Office or to Terry Lowry using
the contact link on the home page. Terry or Mike will contact you and take you
out to dinner for a hamburger!

Iowa?
In the first 3 states, Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire - are they winner
takes all the primary votes or are they proportionally distributed?

Title: Interested in the Republican Primary in Early March? New Edict Alert!
Topic: Voter Registration
Discussed by Jeff Yates
with Political Consultant
Did that happen that Republicans were in control and various Democrat groups filed with the justice department and federal suits that “oh you can’t draw the lines, it hinders our minority rights!”? Is that OKAY?
Did the Congress in Washington pass a law that the ballots need to be mailed earlier to our servicemen and women, especially those overseas? If true, does this affect filing deadlines and also when runoffs are?
Will this Federal panel issue their ruling before November the 28th? And if they don’t, what then?!

Title: Get out the vote after you are sure you are legally registered to vote where you currently live
Topic: Voter Registration
Discussed by Dan Huberty
with Dan Huberty (www.DanHuberty.com)
Dan Huberty stresses the fact that you must be registered to vote where you currently live. If you move, your voter’s registration does not follow you. Also, due to the fire that destroyed all the E-Slate voting machines that Harris county owned, the lines are going to be long on Nov. 2. Vote Early. You can vote early at any of the early voting locations anywhere in Harris County if you are a registered voter in a precinct in Harris County. Log on to Dan's website: www.danhuberty.com.

Topic: Voter Registration
Discussed by Bobby Eberle

Information is the key! Bloggers, radio hosts and others have awakened: America is heading in the wrong direction. We must not only engage new voters: we must inform them, educate them and most importantly motivate them to vote.
