Title: Politicians and their Love of Medicare
Topic: Medicare
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

Part 1 of 2

Is there any help and hope for Medicare? Should every American citizen over the age of 65 be forced to utilize Medicare for their health insurance needs? The system is broke and adding more people to the fray will only make it worse, in my opinion.

Dr. David Hogberg has a new book out "Medicare's Victims: How the U.S. Government's Largest Health Care Program Harms Patients and Impairs Physicians.  The book reveals personal stories of patients who have been harmed, as well as the struggles many physicians face within the system.

David explains why Medicare is so popular, especially among politicians. “A lot of the folks on Medicare have considerable political power, which basically results in Congress making sure Medicare works for them.” He goes on to discuss why using a Medicare-for-all system is a bad idea (duh – it comes from Barney Frank!) and why politicians love healthy people (hint: sick people can’t help block walk!). “Unless you’re from Chicago, your vote doesn’t count when you’re dead!” – Dr. David Hogberg

Dr. David Hogberg also shares two of the stories he includes in his book.   The facts don’t lie. While there is a good outcome, will it be enough? Listen in and share with your friends.

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Politicians and their Love of Medicare
Topic: Medicare
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

In this second segment with Dr. David Hogberg, he reviews who matters and who doesn’t. Under the current Medicare system, seniors have all the power and those who are sick are thrown under the bus. However, he does have hope! He has some great new ideas on how to reform Medicare in his new book, which can be purchased for Kindle or on paperback [here].

Title: The Consequences of Medicare and Medicaid
Topic: Obamacare
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

Part 1 of 2

Bipartisan support for a bill usually means trouble for Americans. Just look at the stimulus package and Obamacare, two of the biggest disasters in American history. Since 2003, Congress has passed – and then suspended – seventeen new rules regarding Medicaid spending.

There are unintended consequences (and some intentional ones!) when lawmakers pass a bill – any bill. It’s hard to know what the future will hold. “Congress is trying to get rid of the Sustainable Growth Rate,” explains Dr. Hogberg of new legislation concerning Medicare and Medicaid. Listen in as Dr. Hogberg explains this “Doc Fix” and discusses MIPS: Merit-based Incentive Program for the doctor. Doctors are rewarded for healthy patients but punished for sick patients. Isn’t a doctor’s job to cure sick patients?

Not every doctor will have the same mix of patients. For instance, “A doctor in New York City will have a different type of patient than, say, doctors in Manhattan, Kansas,” David believes. So, how can Congress expect to offer the exact same incentives to every doctor across the nation?

But what about the intended consequences of this bill? Could this law affect your healthcare or that of a loved one? Will your doctor just quit because they care too much about their sick patients? David Hogberg explains this in part – but listen to the second segment with him to hear more!

Title: Part 2 of 2 - The Consequences of Medicare and Medicaid
Topic: Obamacare
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

“The intended consequence (of MIPS) is to reward doctors for providing quality treatment. The unintended consequence is that doctors will be encouraged to only accept or see healthy patients because then they get better scores on these quality measures,” Dr. Hogberg explains of the MIPS: Merit-based Incentive Program.

Another aspect of this bill which disturbs David is the fact that it does not include the measures by which doctors are to be judged! Listen in as he explains this one.

David says the intent of this bill is to lower the cost of Medicaid. However, it will probably have the opposite effect. “The best and brightest doctors are going to avoid the sickest patients because they realize they get paid more for the healthy ones!

Please contact your Congressmen and urge them to vote against this bill, or to at least strike or remove MIPS from the bill.

Title: Alternatives to Obamacare
Topic: Obamacare
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

We all know that the Main Stream Media (MSM) are lying liars. They are once again spreading propaganda about the Political Right, saying the GOP has no plans to replace or replenish subsidies within Obamacare if the Supreme Court rules in favor of the plaintiff (in the case King vs. Burwell).

Well, MSM, you are wrong. Republicans and Libertarians alike have presented numerous options for the public to choose from in order to continue receiving medical coverage in exchange for Obamacare subsidies.

What is the lawsuit King vs. Burwell? Does it abolish Obamacare? Does it help Obamacare? Does it just replace some of Obamacare?

Listen in as Dr. Hogberg explains the lawsuit, the new options, and what they mean to millions of Americans. And don’t be afraid of a lot of big, fancy words! Dr. David has put it laymen’s terms so everybody can understand it! (Unlike that other large reference book (ahem Obamacare) that no one in Congress even read before they passed it.)

Quote of the day: “Obamacare took the problems that were already there and just put them on steroids.

Title: Eight Lies Told by Obamacare Supporters
Topic: Obamacare Lies
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

Part 1 of 2

Politicians are allowed to lie. On TV, on radio, and even right to your face. They can lie to you. It’s even been approved by the courts, who say it’s up to you, the voter, to decipher what is a lie and what is the truth. But who has time for that? Well, that’s what I’m here for! I am not a politician. I am just a man, a messenger, who wants you to know the truth.

When it comes to Obamacare, we have been fed a lot of lies. David Hogberg says there are eight lies told by Obamacare supporters, one of whom is the infamous Jonathan Gruber. Gruber testified under oath concerning Obamacare, and most have heard that he outright lied. Why is he not being prosecuted for his lies? Will he be?

Listen in as David Hogberg explains the congressional intent, the records, and what could happen.

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Eight Lies Told by Obamacare Supporters
Topic: Obamacare Lies
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

After hearing testimony from Gruber and others, David Hogberg believes that the writers and supporters of Obamacare knew they were lying to the public. They knew it would have devastating effects, but they did it anyway. How is this not illegal?

In this segment with David today, he really digs into some of the Eight Lies Told by Obamacare Supporters. People on federal exchanges are supposed to receive premium subsidies. Lie! We were told by Pelosi and Harry Reid, even Obama himself, that we could keep our current healthcare plan. Lie!

What about Congress? Were they in the dark like the rest of us? Or were some of them part of the whole scheme? David Hogberg has an interesting opinion on this matter as well! Listen in!

Title: Before you Move, Check Doctor Availability.
Topic: Finding a Doctor As We Age
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

Part 1 of 2

More and more doctors are refusing to accept new Medicare patients. In fact, over the last decade, the number has increased from 10 percent to 17 percent. That may not seem like many, but it is huge – especially in rural areas. That is a 70% jump!

Dr. David Hogberg points out that every few years, Medicare threatens to drastically reduce what it reimburses physicians for medical costs. This is a direct result of the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR). Dr. Hogberg explains what this means to people who are looking to retire. (Note: More on this subject in the second segment with Dr. Hogberg.)

Dr. Hogberg also says it is important to research doctors and specialists in the area you wish to retire to make certain there are choices available for Medicare patients.

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Doctors. Money. And Liars.
Topic: Medicare Payment Problems
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

What is the “Doc Fix” process? Dr. David Hogberg explains how a law passed in 1997 by Congress called the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) created a threshold for Medicare physician fees. He explained how this affects retirees in the first segment. Now, he goes further and explains how doctors reacted to this law.

One of the consequences of the SGR is the physician fees. The current proposal that will come up in the next session includes a cut of 25%. This is huge! For obvious reasons, this is causing a great deal of fear and uncertainty in doctors. Many doctors have chosen to simply stop accepting new Medicare patients. Some use a cost shifting scheme, charging cash-paying patients more for services. Others drop all Medicare patients altogether.

And what in the world is the Kabuki dance? Can we talk about that on family-friendly, Christian radio? Listen in as Dr. Hogberg explains this one!!!

Is there any hope at all that Congress will repeal the SGR permanently? Can they do it? Dr. Hogberg is optimistic that the newly elected Congress will do the right thing and allow doctors to just be doctors.

Title: Promise Maker. Promise Breaker.
Topic: Obamacare
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

It really shouldn’t be a surprise that Obamacare is a big mess. Pretty much everything Obama has touched has been awful, but I don’t think anyone was prepared for just how bad Obamacare has turned out to be.

Dr. David Hogberg is a Senior Fellow for Health Care Policy at the National Center for Public Policy Research. He says that one of the biggest complaints from people who signed up for Obamacare is that the new plans are far worse than what they previously had through company or private insurance. In fact, over 30% of the respondents to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation survey said the policies were “not good” or “poor”.

David decided to do his own research and what he found is just absolutely astonishing. First, he looked at the markets in ten large US cities and compared plans for 27 year old single adults and 57 year old couples. Listen in to find out the results!

In addition, Dr. Hogberg says that the ten benefits which must be covered by Obamacare are ridiculous. Not every person needs maternity coverage. Not every person need substance abuse services. Not every person needs pediatric coverage. Why can’t people pick and choose the services they want to be covered? They could before Obamacare!

If we can’t convince the puppets in DC to repeal the whole thing altogether, one solution to this big ol’ mess of Obamacare is to at least offer al-a-cart policies so 50-somethings don’t have to pay for maternity services they’ll never use and 20-somethings don’t have to pay for preventive care services they won’t need for another 20 years.

Title: The Coming Health Insurance Company Bailout
Topic: Obamacare
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

The models used to develop Obamacare are not working. Young, healthy workers are not buying Obamacare policies. Families are not buying coverage, opting to pay cash when they get sick.

Dr. David Hogberg says when the health insurance lobbyists helped write the Obamacare legislation, they knew they would lose money. They purposefully and consciously wrote in safety nets for themselves to cover future losses.

Listen in as David describes recent conversations with the CEO’s of Wellpoint, Humana, and Aetna. Log on to www.NationalCenter.org for more on this and other issues.

Title: Obamacare: Paying More for Less
Topic: Obamacare
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

Part 1 of 2

A new study shows that 27 year old single adults and couples in their late 50’s actually had MORE healthcare options than before Obamacare. Surprise. Surprise. Surprise.

Politicians are protected BY LAW, allowing them to knowingly and purposefully lie to the American public in order for their agenda to be more appealing.

Dr. David Hogberg, with the National Center for Public Policy Research, says, “ObamaCare supporters, including the president himself and Nancy Pelosi, claimed the exchanges would yield more choice and lower prices. This study shows those claims do not stand up.”

The reality is beginning to sink in for the millions of people who voted for Obama and allowed him and the liberals to implement Obamacare. They are frustrated over the issues with the enrollment website. They are angry they cannot keep their current plan or doctor. They are furious over the higher prices for less services.

We tried to warn them. We told them this would happen. Now, what can be done to fix it?

Title: ObamaCare's Victims
Topic: ObamaCare’s Victims
Discussed by David Hogberg
with National Center for Public Policy Research (www.NationalCenter.org)

Part 1 of 3

At least 5 million people – possibly more – have lost their insurance coverage due to the implementation of ObamaCare. Millions more will be losing their health insurance in the coming months.

Americans who work for a small business, which is defined as a company with less than 50 employees, will lose their coverage because the “Affordable Care Act” now deems their employer-provided policies illegal. Rather than pay the high premiums, many employers will choose to cancel their coverage and have their employees join the exchange.

Dr. David Hogberg, with the National Center for Public Policy Research, explains.

“If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” That’s what they told us. That’s what many believed.

“If you like your plan, you can keep your plan.” They told us that, too. And, again, many believed it was true.

Both of these statements turned out to be blatant lies. Is it time the American people demand that ObamaCare be repealed indefinitely? Listen in to hear what Dr. Hogberg has to say.
