Discussed by Matt Mackowiak
with Matt Mackowiak (www.washingtontimes.com/staff/matt-mackowiak)
Are mid-term Elections becoming a sure-thing for Democrats?
Matt Mackowiak is the Travis County GOP Chairman and President of Potomac
Strategy Group (Austin and WDC). Matt is a Republican consultant and former
Press Secretary to two U.S. senators.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Republicans recently lost another US House seat in Pennsylvania. From a
Legislative standpoint, is this a big deal?
Should this race be of concern to Conservatives in Texas?
How much money did Republicans and their aligned groups spend on that campaign?
Have Democrats increased their campaign tactics in Special Elections across the
country during the last two years, especially in suburban areas?
Matt says this: “This is the revenge of the suburbs.” Why?
Can this threaten scores of incumbent Republicans in suburban districts in 2018?
If we fight amongst ourselves, will we lose? HINT: Yes, we will! We MUST unite!

Title: Security Fears After Baseball Tragedy
Topic: Safety for Elected Officials
Discussed by Matt Mackowiak
with Matt Mackowiak (www.washingtontimes.com/staff/matt-mackowiak)
The shocking news that a gunman opened fire on a baseball practice
for Republican members of Congress reverberated across Washington, the nation,
and the world. Short of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and its threat
to the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon, it is hard to recall a time in our recent
history when a large group of elected officials were targeted for assassination.
Where do we go from here?
Matt Mackowiak is the President of the Austin-based Potomac Strategy Group.
He was a Republican consultant, a Bush administration and Bush-Cheney
re-election campaign veteran, and the former press secretary for two US
Senators.
In addition, Matt is the host of a new national political podcast, “Mack on
Politics,” produced in partnership with The Washington Times. His
podcast can be found on iTunes, Google Play, or
here.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What is security like within the capital building?
How secure are elected officials outside the capital or their office building?
Has the level of discord between Republicans and Liberals concerning gun rights
and other issues become so out of control that we need to hit the reset button?
Have Liberals twisted and manipulated free speech rights to fit their agenda?
