Scripture Passage: John 20:19-29
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Thomas had seen Jesus perform miracle after miracle. Why did he doubt Jesus could perform one more?
How can we know that God will take care of us during the dark times?
When did Thomas come back to the disciples?
When did Thomas finally believe? What was Jesus’s response to Thomas after he believed?
Thomas made a personal confession of faith in Jesus. Have you? Are you missing out on God’s blessings in your life because of something in your past?
Did Thomas take the Gospel further than all the other disciples? What did he do for the Kingdom? Pastor Jarrett shares a personal story of the time he went to India.
Tune in tomorrow as Pastor Jarrett offers the Lord’s Supper.

Scripture Passage: John 20:19-29
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why did Thomas want to be alone after the death of Jesus?
What lesson can we learn from Thomas? Pastor Jarrett says: “Don’t isolate yourself in dark times. We need community the most when we’re discouraged.”
Does anything good happen when you’re alone and discouraged?
Did all the disciples doubt at first? YEP! Did others in Scripture doubt?
YEP! Have YOU ever doubted? Probably!
Thomas had seen Jesus perform miracle after miracle. Why did he doubt Jesus could perform one more?

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why is Thomas known as “Doubting Thomas”?
Pastor Jarrett says we shouldn’t give Thomas a hard time. Why?
Why aren’t there many mentions of Thomas in Scripture?

week with his sermon “The Restoration of Peter”. The concept he wants to convey is this: Sin forgiven is sin forgotten.

Scripture Passage: John 21:15-19
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why was Peter crucified upside down?
Have you ever messed up? I know I have – every day!
Does God hold grudges?
Even after he messed up, Jesus put Peter in charge of leading the Church. Think about that for a minute. If God can reach others through Peter, who can He reach through YOU? Pastor Ed makes this powerful statement: “The commitment of the shepherd will be reflected in the sheep.”
If God loves us unconditionally, why do we still need to repent?
Scripture References: Matthew 28:20
Hymn of Invitation: Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross

Scripture Passage: John 21:15-19
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Is doctrine still important in today’s society? Absolutely! Pastor Ed reveals a startling statistic about college kids and church…
Why do lambs look at the shepherd AND the sheep?
Pastor Ed shares a story about his own father helping and caring for a friend’s cattle farm…
Did Jesus know that Peter really did love him?
How did Jesus restore Peter?
Why do shepherds move sheep from pasture to pasture?
Some preachers/ministers only preach “be saved be saved be saved”. Is this what the Gospel is all about? Or is there more to learn?

Scripture Passage: John 21:15-19
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Are you teaching the right doctrine to your kids?
Why does Pastor Ed call Peter “Peter Too Quick”?
What is the responsibility of a pastor/minister of a church? Guess what?! This is YOUR responsibility, too! Every Christian is called to be a shepherd AND a sheep.
Are too many church leaders wishy-washy on the True Gospel? Pastor Ed says this: “Everything else…is secondary other than preaching the truth. That…should be primary in every church across this land. If it were, we might be in a different state than we are right now.” Amen!

Scripture Passage: John 21:15-19
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why did Jesus refer to his people as “sheep”? Guess what! Sheep aren’t dumb. They are actually pretty smart. They are just stubborn! This makes sense now…
Jesus asked Peter: “Do you love me more than these”? What was Jesus referring to? Was he giving Peter a chance for restoration?
Pastor Ed reminds us that new Christians (lambs) look to older Christians (sheep) for advice and guidance. He encourages everyone to either find a lamb or a sheep to be accountable with.
How are you receiving your spiritual nutrition? Are you just relying on the preacher to feed you? Or are you feeding yourself at home, with friends, and in small groups?
Is being a Christian all about teaching and preaching? Or is it also about loving and caring for others?
Do some religions have a “wrong” doctrine?

“Love is the mark of a true believer,” Pastor Ed says. So why is it so hard to love sometimes?
What did Jesus tell Peter he would do before he was crucified? What was Peter’s response? Have we ALL had this same response to Jesus at least one time?
Why did Jesus call Peter “Simon Peter”?

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why did the Pharisees try to defend their position against the blind man and Jesus?
Why didn’t the Pharisees believe the man was blind? Was he born in sin? Yes. So is everyone else! Did the Pharisees miss this point entirely?
Fellowship is important. So is “followship”. Pastor Ed explains…
Worship is also important. Are you truly worshipping God daily?
Are you praying for your family, friends, church, and community? So many are still blind to the Truth of God’s love. So many need their eyes opened. What will you do today to share God’s love with one person?

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why did the Pharisees get so upset when Jesus healed the blind man?
Did the Pharisees think the blind man was lying?
The blind man stood alone. His parents left him. His friends left him. The Pharisees called him a liar. Are YOU willing to stand alone when everyone around you leaves?
Who was really blind: the man or the Pharisees?
Did Jesus still love the Pharisees even though he called them out? Pastor Ed believes that too many people, even Christians, think that love is all we need. No, we need to be bold, pointing out sin and hypocrisy when we see it. He says this: “The truth can be right before you and you miss it…There is a boldness of the saved.”
Why did the Pharisees try to defend their position against the blind man and Jesus?

Are you afraid to share the Gospel? You are not alone! The important thing is that we are obedient. There are only three responses we will get: yes, no, or leave me alone.
How did Jesus heal the blind man (physically)? Did the mud and water heal him? Or was it his obedience?
Are you living in fear or faith? If you truly believe that God is in charge, you will live in faith!

What did Jesus do in response to the Pharisees charge against the adulterous woman? Do we know what he wrote in the sand?
Bible Fact: Jesus only called a woman “woman” twice: here in this passage and to his own mother at the foot of the cross.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Have your kids ever tried to pull a fast one on you? This is what the Pharisees were trying to do to Jesus. That isn’t ever going to work!
How is it possible to “catch someone in the act of adultery”? Why was only the woman brough to Jesus? Why not the man, too? Where were the witnesses? Why not take the woman to the council instead of Jesus?
Pastor Jarrett takes a few moments in this segment to bring attention to the mentality of the adulterous woman. What was she thinking? Was she worried? Nervous? Had the Pharisees set her up? What was her background? Why did she commit adultery in the first place?

Pastor Ed urges those who have not been back to church during the last year to go to church this Sunday! Wear a mask. Don’t wear a mask. Social distance. Don’t social distance. Find a church and go! Fellowship with others is so important to our spiritual walk with Christ.
When was the last time you NEEDED Jesus? We should need him 24/7!
Verse 26: “Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.” Did you know that the original text does not include the word “he”? Pastor Ed explains why…
How many times does Jesus say “I Am” in the New Testament?
Why did the woman leave her water pot at the well when she went back to tell the people about Jesus?
Is your heart and mind occupied with Jesus?

Scripture Passage: John 3:1-15
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What condition did Jesus give to Nicodemus when he answered “truly, truly I say to you…”?
Where does salvation come from? Does it come from multiple places? Can we obtain salvation in more than one way? Can we work our way into heaven?
REMEMBER: Nicodemus was a religious and educated man. He knew the law. Why did he ask Jesus to clarify “being born again”?
How did Jesus confirm his answer to Nicodemus?
In verse 5 of this passage, Jesus said “Unless one is born of water and the Spirit.” Why does this verse cause so much controversy?
Scripture References: John 14:6; Ephesians 5:25b
