Topic: After COVID-19 Pandemic
Discussed by Dr. Robert Cranston
with Christian Medical and Dental Association www.CMDA.org

Part 1 of 2

Dr. Robert Cranston writes: “The world is caught up in the COVID-19 pandemic. This virus has changed our lives… Schools, churches, businesses, restaurants, sporting events, and entire countries are closed or are placed under lockdown… At any hour of the day or night, one can find the most up-to-date tallies for morbidity and mortality in the U.S. and around the world.”

Today, Dr. Cranston discusses three observations: truth, loneliness, and character. Dr. Cranston is a member of the CMDA’s Ethics Committee.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Why does Dr. Cranston question how some journalists use facts and statistics in reporting the news of COVID-19?

Because of ‘social distancing’, are many facing loneliness? Are some placed in higher danger of abuse? Do some even harbor thoughts of suicide?

What can we do to help? What should churches do to reach out during this time?

How does a crisis reveal true character?

Title: Part 2 of 2 - Truth-Loneliness-Character Revealed 19
Topic: After COVID-19 Pandemic
Discussed by Dr. Robert Cranston
with Christian Medical and Dental Association www.CMDA.org

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Should we, as Christians, be more compassionate to everyone during this time?

How can we speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15)?

Is it important that we pray for those who mistreat us (Luke 6:28, Matthew 5:44)?

Are we called to share with those in need (Matthew 5:42, 6:2-4) and pray for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2)?

Many people, even Christians, are anxious and worried. Words that comfort can be found in Matthew 6:25-34.

DDr. Cranston closes the interview with this reminder: “Remember that God is sovereign even in the terrible times. He is still on His throne. He directs the minds of rulers. He directs the events of the world. We can trust Him because He is a good God.”
