Title: Christians, Refugees, and Illegal Immigration
Topic: Christianity and Immigration
Discussed by John Horvat
with Return to Order www.ReturnToOrder.org
John Horvat believes that the Church absolutely has a responsibility
to help the needy and those seeking refuge. However, how much is
our responsibility? Mr. Horvat uses Saint Thomas as an answer.
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Should all churches, no matter the denomination, offer unconditional charity
toward those who enter our nation, whether legally or illegally?
What does the Bible say about immigration?
Who is Saint Thomas Aquinas and what are his thoughts concerning refugees and
charity?
Is the goal of immigration “integration”, not “segregation”?
What is government’s number one duty?
Does Saint Thomas’s opinion offer some insight to the burning issues now shaking
the nation and blurring the national borders?
What is the concept behind an “American Card”, as stated by an Elected Official from Texas?

Title: What Does St. Thomas say about Immigration?
Topic: Christianity and Immigration
Discussed by John Horvat
with Return to Order www.ReturnToOrder.org
In looking at the debate over immigration, it is almost
automatically assumed that the Church’s position should be one of unconditional
charity toward those who enter the nation, legally or illegally.
Immigration is a modern problem and so some might think that the medieval Saint
Thomas would have no opinion about the problem. And yet, he does.
John Horvat will be revealing what he believes is St. Thomas’s opinion on this
issue today and what the Church’s response should be.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
According to St. Thomas, should the church offer unconditional charity in
matters of immigration, whether legally or illegally?
What does the Bible say about “the traveler”?
St. Thomas even wrote about immigrants who wished to become immediate citizens
to their new home, and he quotes Aristotle concerning this, who wasn’t even a
Christian! Listen in.
What was St. Thomas’s opinion about “hostile immigrants”?
