Title: Good News and Bad News
Topic: Good News and Bad News

Do you ever avoid watching the news? I don’t know about you, but it depresses me! Have you ever wondered why? Robert Knight, with the American Civil Rights Union, quotes Michael Medved (a fellow radio talk show host, author, and political commentator): “Virtually all news is bad news.” It’s okay to tune out occasionally and just ignore the bad stuff happening around us. Instead of focusing on the negativity in the world, why not just focus on the positive? It’s really not that hard to do!

The government is always claiming that a “crisis is among us” or a “crisis is near”. Is this doom and gloom talk just for show? Or are they like the little boy who cried wolf, and no one will believe them when the bad stuff is really at our door? Robert states, “I believe there is an ongoing conspiracy between the press and liberal policy makers to constantly trumpet crises that always lead to the conclusion that we need more government!...It’s a false sense of reality.

Have you ever wondered where the phrase “If it bleeds, it leads” originated? Robert Knight did some research on it. Listen in to hear what he discovered! Also, do you want to hear some GOOD NEWS? Robert gives us a pep talk and shares some good news, too! Here’s a link  to the feel-good video Robert mentions near the end of the segment.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who wake up grumpy and complaining about everything and those who wake thanking God for the beautiful day, even if it’s raining outside. Which one are you?
