Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders looks like the neighborhood Grandpa who waves to the people driving by as he sits on his porch sipping ice tea. He is not that man, though. Bernie is dangerous – very, very dangerous. He is a socialist who has two types of followers: those who don’t believe that he is really a Socialist and those who think it’s great that he’s a Socialist.

Bernie definitely talks a good game when it comes to healthcare coverage and many people believe his plan sounds heavenly. However, this cannot be further from the truth. Dr. Jane Orient is the current President of Doctors for Disaster Preparedness. She is only one of many physicians who are concerned about the possibility of President Sanders being in charge of America.

Dr. Orient explains how, under a Socialist-controlled healthcare system, “Doctors will not be working for you; they will be working for the government…It will be worse than Medicare and Medicaid…Medicare is already bankrupt and will bankrupt the whole country if something isn’t done about it.” Where does Bernie think he is going to get the money for a single-payer healthcare system?

Furthermore, everyone – every single person – will be forced to have coverage (no exceptions and no fines to pay if you don’t want it). Bernie Sanders likes to use Canada as a “perfect example of a single-payer healthcare system”, saying that Canadians love it. Dr. Orient explains that it’s only the healthy people who love it! Those who are sick and in need of treatment travel to the United States and pay out-of-pocket for treatment. Where will we go for help if Bernie is President?
