Title: Sunday is Saved for a Day of Rest
Topic: Sunday is a Day of Rest

with Return to Order www.ReturnToOrder.org

Go! Go! Go! Do this! Go here! Clean the house! Mow the grass! Take your kids somewhere! Take your spouse somewhere! If you sit still too long, you have a problem!

Too many people are just constantly on the go – even on Sundays. God created the world and on the seventh day, He rested. He wants us to rest, too! For an efficient economy to function, everything must be operational 24/7, 365 (except for Christmas Day.) This is right? Isn’t it?

John Horvat, author of Return to Order, says “not necessarily.” He discusses how Germany, the fourth largest economic power in the world, completely stops on Sunday. And the people like it! Just look at Chick-fil-A. They are closed on Sundays and they are definitely not hurting in the monetary or popularity department! Should we follow their lead?

In America, to keep government out of our lives as much as possible, we should not pass a law forcing all businesses to close on Sundays. But we can encourage people to just slow down, relax, and spend time with loved ones. “The world is not going to end because you aren’t connected to it,” John Horvat declares. He also encourages us to disconnect every day, not just on Sundays. Technology is great, but it’s not everything.
