What does the word “job” mean and when did it originate?

What about the word “work”? How far does this word date back?

What, exactly, does it mean to be “unemployed”?

What is the true unemployment rate in America today?

Are the underemployed included in the unemployment figures? Are there millions of underemployed people in America?

Are too many people clamoring for the creation of jobs but not work?

Is a ‘job’ merely an agreement between one person and one employer for a set amount of labor?

Listen as John Horvat explains in more detail, using historical references, the difference between a job and work…

Sometimes, we must simply take any job that will pay our bills. How can we turn that job into “work”?

How can we change our mentality towards our “job”?

Title: Jobs vs Work
Topic: Jobs vs Work

The middle class is unemployed or underemployed, real wages are declining, and many have simply given up. So, what does America need? Jobs or work? The word “Job” is a relatively new term, which means “a pile of things to be done”. Work, on the other hand, goes all the way back to mid-evil England, and means “an activity done out of passion or for excellence”.

Too many people just get a “job” and therefore don’t make it last. John Horvat, author of “Return to Order”, says people need work to stay inspired. Work is so much more valuable than a job. We need passion to advance. And a lot of that has to do with attitude.

John Horvat says there is a definite difference between having a job and working. To create more “jobs”, we need to move the focus off of temporary fixes to getting back people into what they love. So many businesses are all about politically correctness and money.

Listen in as John Horvat says the government should have nothing to do with “jobs”. What they need to do is require more government-type courses in college and encourage more useful degrees. Should people attend a big, fancy university? Is a community college the right choice? Is higher education even worth it? Here John Horvat’s opinion!
