Title: The Medical Quality Cartel
Topic: Medical Quality Cartel
Discussed by Dr. Jane Orient

Part 1 of 2
Lawyers aren’t required to take
the bar exam every few years to keep defending or prosecuting cases. But
apparently the government now believes it is necessary for doctors and surgeons
to be certified or re-certified frequently in order to continue practicing
medicine.
While established (aka, older) physicians are “grandfathered” and not placed
under this stipulation, newer physicians, those currently in medical school, and
future doctors and surgeons will be required to spend countless hours and a
small fortune every few years becoming recertified in their field of specialty.
Jane Orient, with the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, explains
why this is not only bad for them but bad for you – the patient!

When it comes to specialty
doctors, many are not currently “board-certified”. Does this make a difference
to you? It doesn’t necessarily mean he or she is not well qualified; in fact,
it’s probably the exact opposite!
But who actually provides the certification? You might be surprised who does –
and who pays for it!
Listen in as Jane Orient gives us the scoop!
