Topic: Witnessing to Sinners
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)

Day 3

This week, instead of airing a portion of Mark Lanier’s Biblical Literacy lesson, we are re-airing encouraging words from an interview with Champion Forest Pastor Ed Ethridge from November 6, 2019.

The title for this interview is “Are You Planting Seeds?”

If you have a prayer request, need Scripture encouragement, or would like a copy of Mark’s lessons each week, email
wantmore@biblical-literacy.org

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Will everyone stand before the throne of God one day and be judged?

Will anyone be an advocate for us when we stand before God?

Or are we on our own to fight the devil’s accusations?

Does God really forgive our sins when we accept His son, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior?

The title for this interview is “Are You Planting Seeds?”

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Are we responsible for planting, watering, tending, and harvesting the soul of the unsaved?

Are we the only God that most people see?

What if our witness is not Christ-like every moment, every day?

Did Paul write in Romans 7 that he “does what he doesn’t want to do and doesn’t do what he should do”?

Does Satan use our past mistakes to try and convince us that God cannot use us now?

Title: Sharing the Good News
Topic: Witnessing to Sinners
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)

Part 1 of 2

Is there anything better than hearing the news that a soul has been saved for eternity? I think not!

Today, Pastor Ed Ethridge expands on a prayer from Amy Peterson: “There’s so much about You, God, that can be shared with others in my life. Lead me as I interact with them. Amen.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Should we all be more like the woman at the well, who ran to tell others about Jesus, the Living Water?

Why do many believers not share their faith with others?

How can we prepare to share the Good News with others? Pastor Ed says pray for them and pray for opportunities to share the Gospel.

When we learn of a person in need, should we volunteer to pray for them on the spot?

Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)

Questions/Issues Discussed:

During Christmastime Sunbeam bread  has a picture of a little girl praying on their bread packages. Is this a great way to open a conversation in the grocery store about Jesus and his love for us all?

Most people would attend a church service, especially at Christmastime. Who can you invite?

Has the Lord blessed you? Share that good news with someone today!

Topic: Witnessing to Sinners
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)

Part 1 of 3

Pastor Ed Ethridge is the Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care at Champion Forest Baptist Church. He has served in ministry for over four decades.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Are we responsible for planting, watering, tending, and harvesting the soul of the unsaved? Pastor Ed explains that we may do one of those, but not all four…

Pastor Ed closes this segment with an encouraging and reassuring prayer…

Topic: Witnessing to Sinners
Discussed by Pastor Ed Ethridge
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Some believe that God created the universe about 10,000 years ago. Some believe God created the earth and it has evolved over millions of years. Others believe that God had nothing to do with the creation of the universe.

Will everyone stand before the throne of God one day and be judged?

Will anyone be an advocate for us when we stand before God? Or are we on our own to fight the devil’s accusations?

Does God really forgive our sins when we accept His son, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior?

Title: Witnessing to Sinners
Topic: Witnessing to Sinners
Discussed by Dr. Russell Moore
with Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission

Part 1 of 2

Does the marginalization of conjugal marriage in American culture have profound implications for our gospel witness?

Does the recent Supreme Court decision give Christian churches the opportunity to do what Jesus called us to do with our marriages in the first place: to serve as a light in a dark place?

Dr. Moore is upfront with his discussion of how the modern church stopped calling sin ‘sin’. Listen in… but if you are a fornicator, committing adultery, or remarried but living in sin - be careful, he might step on your toes.

Title: Part 2 of 2
Topic: Witnessing to Sinners
Discussed by Dr. Russell Moore
with Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission

Must we, as true believers in Jesus Christ, repent for our pathetic marriage cultures within our churches?

Should our churches be just like the local Justice of the Peace and marry any two (or three or four) people that want to get married?

President Obama was quick to state that churches will continue to have the freedom to place restrictions on whom they marry. But wait until tomorrow, or next week, after some gay couples ask your church and your pastor to marry them. When they are refused, they will sue. Listen in… you may agree with Dr. Moore or you may agree with the host. Please let us know by sending us your comments using the comment link.
