Over 27,000 families are still receiving housing assistance in Harris County because of Katrina and Rita. Using a 2.54 multiplier, that's over 68,000 adults and children. How long is long enough? The families must re-certify to continue receiving housing assistance. Call 800-621-FEMA and use prompt #3 for more details.

Topic: Disaster Relief
Discussed by Philip Parks
with Federal Emergency Management Agency
Thirty-Five thousand plus families were assisted with housing and other needs immediately after Katrina and Rita. Thousands are still being assisted with housing but some could lose this help at the end of August or September. They should call FEMA at 800-621-3362 to find out more. Don’t forget the family your church is helping during this time, they may need to call.
