Title: Are You at a Crossroads Today?
Topic: Book Review
Discussed by Jodie Niznik
with Jodie Niznik (www.jodieniznik.com/)
Part 1 of 3
God wanted to save two people groups: one He loved and a group He loathed. So, basically every human being – including YOU! But He needs helpers to spread His Gospel message to the world.
Author Jodie Niznik is the Women’s and Adult Ministries Pastor at Irving Bible Church. She is also the author of a 9-week Bible study: “Crossroads: A Study of Esther and Jonah for Boldly Responding to Your Call”.
Questions/Issues iscussed:
Why did Jodie decide to write about Esther and Jonah?
What do Esther and Jonah have in common?
Was Esther looking for something to do for God? Or did her task just fall into her lap? Did she go willingly for God?

Title: Part 2 of 3 - Are You at a Crossroads Today?
Topic: Book Review
Discussed by Jodie Niznik
with Jodie Niznik (www.jodieniznik.com/)
Questions/Issues iscussed:
How is the Book of Esther different than other books in the Bible?
Did Esther and Jonah respond to God’s calling in drastically different ways?
Why did God use different tactics to get Esther and Jonah’s attention?
Does God often use the circumstances around us to get our attention? Does He us
prayer and His Word? Does He use people?

Title: Part 3 of 3 - Are You at a Crossroads Today?
Topic: Book Review
Discussed by Jodie Niznik
with Jodie Niznik (www.jodieniznik.com/)
Questions/Issues iscussed:
God used a violent storm to get Jonah’s attention. Do we all face storms like
Jonah? Do we sometimes get caught up in other people’s storms like the men on
the boat with Jonah?
What does Jodie love about Jonah’s story?
What can we learn from Jonah about fear?
Does God provide for us daily? What is His “providential care”? Jodie
reminds us: “Even when those terrible things happen, God still holds us and
He still cares for us. He will provide everything we need to get through that
situation.” Does this mean that life is easy? Nope! She continues: “God,
in is providence, is standing there with you and He is with you every step of
the way.”
