New guest Brion McClanahan is here today to discuss his new book, “9 Presidents who Screwed up America and the 4 who tried to Save Her”.  If you think President Obama has overstepped his authority, you must also recognize that some of the “greats” did, too.

First, he talks about Abraham Lincoln, who is probably the most controversial President in his book. The Emancipation Proclamation was, in theory, a very good thing. However, it was completely unconstitutional. President Lincoln did not have the authority to issue it.

Now, what about Obama? He is definitely included in Brion’s list of the “nine worst Presidents”. But why? Brion says that Obama is actually just a continuation of “twenty-eight years of consecutive unconstitutional executive usurpation of power”. War. Healthcare. Immigration. The President cannot legislate the law with his pen. Presidents Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama have all done this and it is just outright illegal. As for the good guys…Surprisingly President Ronald Reagan did not make the cut, but he was definitely a contender.

Brion McClanahan also discusses the “lame duck President” and how we can stop their abuse of power. We are in the middle of Primary Battle and this is a hot topic with many. Brion says, “We need to limit the power of the Executive Branch and make signing Executive Orders unconstitutional…Even make it easier to impeach the President!” Wow. What a statement!
