Title: What Are The Southern Baptist Men Doing To Prepare For Hurricane Sandy?
Topic: Disaster Relief
Discussed by Mike Ebert
with North American Mission Board (www.namb.net)
What are the southern Baptist men doing to prepare for hurricane Sandy?
Will there be a need for volunteers? Will there be a need for meals? For command centers? What is the "clam shell"? What kind of food do
you all prepare?
Back to hurricane Ike - 1.5 million hot meals were prepared by you all, southern Baptist men and women. How in the world did y'all, from across the
country, prepare so many meals? Is it still true that the Red Cross does not have a mobile kitchen?
If there are widespread outages and restaurants don't have portable generators - are you all prepared as needed to send some of your 1,500 disaster
relief units throughout the northeast to cook hot meals? The North American Mission Board exists to work with churches, associations and state
conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missioned force to impact North America with the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church
planting. They accomplish that through Send North America, their national strategy for mobilizing churches to plant churches and mobilizing
church planters and other missionaries to assist with those efforts.
