Title: AMERICA’S BOYS NEED NOBLE MASCULINITY – NOT LOWERED EXPECTATIONS
Topic: Culture War
Discussed by Eric Hogue
with Colorado Christian University (www.ccu.edu/)

The Bureau of Labor Statistics analysis found that labor force participation among men aged 20-24 fell from 82.6% in 2000 to 73.1% in 2022, with a further decline to 68.2% projected by 2032.

Today, Eric Hogue explains why he believes it is time we teach young boys how to be real men and bring back noble masculinity. Eric Hogue is the President of Colorado Christian University.

Questions/Issues Discussed:

Do boys need society to expect less of them and to coddle them with low expectations? Or do boys and young men need a society that calls them to have purpose, demonstrate responsibility, and show leadership?

Are too many boys and young men drifting, lacking resilience, less anchored, and less prepared to carry adult responsibility? Is this society’s fault or do parents bare some responsibility as well? Eric Hogue believes it is a combination of the breakdown of society, families, and even the church.

As a university president, Mr. Hogue sees young men arrive on campus with talent and ambition. Yet, do many struggle to make success happen?

Are some young men unable to maintain the focus and the maturity to control impulses instead of being controlled by them?

Do too many young men fall behind, not because they lack intelligence, but because they cannot sustain attention and accept negative feedback?

Will all of America suffer? Eric Hogue discusses the impact this has on the family, the church, education, and the country.

Does every young man need a path that builds discipline, competence, and purpose? Are mentors needed?
