QUESTIONS / ISSUES DISCUSSED:
What is the primary way that an unbelieving world is attracted to Jesus? Our friendships with other believers! (John 13:35) Dr. Darling says: “Love for our fellow Christians is one of the most visible ways we witness. You can’t be about the Great Commission if you’re not about loving others, especially your brothers and sisters in Christ.”
HOW TO SHOW LOVE:
Be willing to say “I’m sorry”.
Overlook quirks and flaws that are annoying, but not permanent.
Encourage more than you rebuke.
Choose accountability over suspicion.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Friends will let us down, but Jesus never will.
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, text the word JESUS to 77069 and a pastor or counselor from CFBC will call you back.

CHARACTERISTICS OF LOVE:
Love does not delight in evil. Love grieves over evil.
Love rejoices in truth. Love praises truth.
Love believes all things. Love gives the benefit of the doubt. Dr. Darling takes a minute to talk about the dangers of social media…
How can friendships be a gift to us and others? Are all friendships perfect? How can we learn to tolerate each other’s quirks and imperfection?
How did Jesus feel about friendships? How did Jesus love his friends? How did he compare friendships to the Church?

QUESTIONS / ISSUES DISCUSSED:
Is it sometimes necessary to break away from toxic people in order to love them better? How can tough love be helpful? Dr. Darling explains that sometimes we must communicate hard truths to people we love dearly.
What does love require of us? What does love look like? (1 Corinthians 13)
In his book, “The Mark of a Christian”, Francis A. Schaeffer wrote: “The world must observe that when we must differ with each other as true Christians, we must do it not because we love the smell of blood, the smell of the arena, the smell of the bullfight, but because we must for God’s sake.”
CHARACTERISTICS OF LOVE:
Love does not delight in evil. Love grieves over evil.
Love rejoices in truth. Love praises truth.
Love believes all things. Love gives the benefit of the doubt.
Tune in tomorrow for more characteristics of love.

What does it mean to “stick” with someone through the good times and bad? Dr. Darling reminds us of some friendships in the Bible…
How can we be a good friend? (John 15:12-17)
Why does God love us when we can be so unlovable?
Why is peace important in relationships?
Is it sometimes necessary to break away from toxic people in order to love them better?

QUESTIONS / ISSUES DISCUSSED:
Have any of your friendships taken a beating over the past few years? What has caused division in your friendships? Dr. Darling reminds us that conflict is a sign of sin and most of our “fights” with each other are not about doctrine, but rather “stupid and foolish arguments” (2 Timothy 2:23)
Why should we have a special affection for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ? (Proverbs 18:24)
What does “sticketh” mean in the Bible? What is the word used for? This is really interesting!
