Every religion has certain customs and traditions that are centuries old. Some are good, benefiting society as whole. Some traditions, however, are horrific and brutal and should never have precedence over the law of the land.

Dr. Marvin Folkertsma is a retired professor of political science and fellow for American studies with The Center for Vision & Values at Grove City College. First, Dr. Folkertsma discusses a 19th century Hindu tradition which was outrageous, even for that time period. A British Commander was asked if this tradition was right or wrong. Listen in as Dr. Folkertsma reveals his epic response!

Now, on to the main focus of today’s interview: Two American Marines have been condemned by the US Government for their actions against an Afghan soldier who beat a mother, kidnapped her young son, and brutally raped the young boy over and over again. Dr. Folkertsma reveals how these two brave Marines had previously tried working with the Afghan authorities to stop this type of abuse to no avail. When the young boy’s mother approached them, they couldn’t sit idly by and do nothing. What happened next is disgusting…

“From a moral point of view…it was the case that our soldiers were right,” Dr. Folkertsma. Even the Afghan authorities applauded the Marines’ actions! So why is the US Government going after their own soldiers? Dr. Marvin Folkertsma believes that if the US government continues down this destructive path we will only be contributing to our own suicide. “We are seeing a transformation in this country that is breathtaking…It represents the loss of what Lincoln once referred to as ‘the last best hope of men’.”
