Announcing: a new series for toddlers and preschoolers that combines word and song to help them memorize scripture. The first book in the HeartSmart series, “Let’s Learn about the Lord’s Prayer”  not only introduces children to Bible memory, but teaches them about how to pray.

In this vibrant, colorful board book, Author Catherine DeVries introduces Emma, a preschooler who welcomes readers at the front door and invites them in for a special play date. Catherine compares Emma to Dora the Explorer: kids are truly a part of the story – they interact with Emma and can relate to her.

Let’s Learn about the Lord’s Prayer is more than just pictures and games and a cute story. Emma teaches the Lord’s Prayer to children – through the eyes of another preschooler! It’s not from a parent’s perspective, so it isn’t pushy or hard to understand. “It really encourages them (children) to talk to God about their day and what’s going on in their life,” Catherine says.

Each book in the HeartSmart series not only includes Scripture, but a song, as well. Kids retain information much better when they learn new concepts and information through song. We all know that reading to our children is important, but how much do you pray with them? Many adults are fearful of praying aloud, even among our own families. There is no reason to shy away from prayer, though. After all, prayer is just a conversation between you and God.

This is why Catherine DeVries wrote Let’s Learn about the Lord’s Prayer: to help parents and grandparents teach their children at an early age the importance of prayer and memorizing Scripture. This is a great book to donate to your church and school libraries.
